Down home feel, great food, great price points & great service. This is my husband’s and my second time here in a week! We love that they’re close by, but really, your can’t go wrong with the plethora of choices. Everyone here loves working here and it shows and that’s partly what makes us feel right at home. Can’t wait to try more items on the menu! PS– They even make their own ice cream which can accompany any of their pies or peach cobbler.

Another one of those times when I ordered delivery first and THEN read the reviews. You’d think I would know by now that it’s done the other way around. As BBQ goes, it was just average. I’ll echo the complaint(s) about portion size. Expected more for the money. Potato salad was more like mashed potato salad. No texture to it at all. Tasted OK. Beans were just average. Kinda tasted like they came outta a can somewhere. Brisket, sausage and sauce were again VERY average. Nothing tasted terrible; just average, and in Austin, Texas, where you can throw a brick out the window and hit a BBQ joint, ya gotta be good if you expect to compete with the likes of the County Line and Pok-E-Jo’s. Will I order from them again? Not likely.

Great service with beefy friendly people. They make you smile and get through the line quickly. The food is great and I recommend the BBQ Frito Pie it is not on the menu so you have to know about it going in.

Excellent restaurant. Food better than big name bbque joints. Just no frills interior. 5-star in my book. Always rave about it.

I’ve been to this place several times over the last 6 months and the quality has consistently gone down. It’s the closest BBQ to my work which is the only reason I’ve revisited. Today was the last straw for me, I paid $ 14 for a 3 meat plate. I watched as the server, who acts very inconvenienced when you order, gave me the chicken scraps from the bottom of the bucket. I watched her reach underneath and around SEVERAL full servings of quality chicken to give me the bottom scraps. These chicken scraps were almost all fat and tendon and no meat. It seemed like she didn’t want to cut the good chicken or simply didn’t want to serve it to me. I’m shocked for being a regular, To receive such an impersonal and rude service. Over priced, stingy with their food, I will not go back.

Their catering orders they say serve 6 – 8 people is pretty inaccurate. Really for maybe 3 – 4 people, at that. Ordered this for a corporate event and was pretty embarrassed and left scrambling for more food when every event planners worst nightmare happened… not enough food for attendees…

I tried a meat sampler plate with chicken, pork loin, ribs, brisket, dinner roll, coleslaw, green bean casserole. I have drove past this place many times and though I should try it. Today was the day I finally tried it. I was quite disappointed. The plate ended up being about 18 dollars and everything was dry and almost inedible. Even the dinner roll was dry :(. I took a bite of each thing hoping that one thing would taste amazing, but it was a no go. Waste of money unfortunately. The bbq sauce was also very thin and soupy. Just didn’t do it for me today. The only thing I kinda enjoyed was the green beans.

Decent BBQ, Decent iced tea. Decent service. All around the good neighborhood BBQ place. The green beans are a must have. The ribs are always a good go to. If you’re in the neighborhood and in the mood for BBQ. Pay them a visit. You won’t regret it.

Went on a Tuesday at around 4pm. The interior was nice and clean. Staff was very accommodating and hospitable. Food: we got the the three-meat plate(turkey, sausage, brisket) with fries and slaw, and the smoked fish with corn. Brisket was moist but unseasoned; like it had been oven baked. The sausage — also bland. Turkey was flavorful, though, as was the smoked fish which had a unique taste. Corn, buttery and delicious. Will be returning to try their ribs and pork loin. Overall, not bad but not astounding either.

Been eating here for 10 years now. Understand BBQ is definitely up to the personal consumer. But, I personally think Branch BBQ is the best BBQ around on the economy circuit. People here have been the nicest and genuinely grateful for business to every customer in the door. I have catered parties multiple times with their food for half the cost of buying everything myself and spending the time to cook it. It’s reasonably priced, food is best Texas comfort food. And i always fight my family and friends that it is better than MULTIPLE over priced BBQ joints in town. I will be going back another 10 years, definitely.

I saw a notice in the Wells Branch Neighborhood association group e-mail about Root beer floats made with homemade root beer float ice cream and their Friday special, which was Chicken & Dumplings. I LOVE chicken and dumplings, so I had to try. Got there early Friday evening and the place was completely packed. Turns out they had a pre-wedding dinner happening and literally there was no place to sit if you wanted to eat there. No problem for us though, we were getting ours to go. I asked about the C&D and they graciously offered me a taste first. The bite I got was SO good so I got the quart for $ 10. I have to say, the people behind the counter were the absolutely NICEST people you could ever encounter. They smiled, were friendly, and just absolutely acted like they were grateful for my business. Couldn’t ask for more. I also got a two meat plate(both meats were brisket) with a side of potato salad and cole slaw. When we got home, I got my bowl of C&D and my husband ate the BBQ. The C&D were the best I’ve ever eaten in my life(don’t tell my grandma!) It was seasoned to perfection, there were dumplings in every bite and they were the perfect consistency, and not gummy. The chicken was shreaded and tender. The broth was not too thick and not too thin. I can’t say enough about this dish. My husband’s BBQ was really good. The brisket was flavorful and juicy enough. Is it Rudy’s or Franklin’s brisket? No. But who is other than Rudy’s and Franklins? It’s hard to beat them. But Branch BBQ is really, really good. The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 was because the sides were just ok. Nothing special. But honestly, I don’t pick a BBQ place for their sides, I pick it for the BBQ. And Branch BBQ is excellent. Can’t wait to come back.

It tastes great… But I got a plate to go and I’ve never been SO disappointed in the portion size for $ 12. What a joke! Each side item only gave me three bites.

Great food but incredibly rude morning staff. I love this place for the most part but I don’t like feeling as though I’m being an inconvenience just by ordering lunch the way this particular staff member does. Her huffing and puffing along with the eye rolling is something i absolutely can do without! Definitely go eat there but I’d go in the evenings because the staff then are MUCH nicer and actually seem happy to help.

My husband I decided to try this place for lunch; I discovered it one day while shipping something at the UPS store(next door) and remembered the aroma coming from next door smelled promising, so I left it in my mental Rolodex until today; Hubby mentioned trying a new place for barbecue, and I remembered Branch BBQ. We walked in and first thoughts were that it was smaller than I had imagined, and the entire place being fully carpeted was a little odd for me, as this was a restaurant prone to spills, but… sure. why not?.. :/I also didn’t smell the pleasant smoked bbq aroma I had remembered from before, but we went in anyway. There wasn’t a crowd(which should have been my first red flag), just a couple of indecisive old ladies in front of us. While they were deciding their fate, we made a quick decision to both try the three meat combos(we were hungry). The lady behind the counter greeted us quickly and kind of rushed us along as if the place was über busy and she was trying to speed up service.(I wanted to say, «Calm down, woman! We’re the only folks in here!» When I asked if the potato salad was mustard or mayo based, she quickly told me «mustard and mayo»… so I went ahead and got potato salad and beans with ribs, sausage and brisket. My husband got the same, but instead oit’s f ribs, he chose chicken. In my mind’s eye, I had envisioned her opening a smoke-filled pit and stabbing a succulent slab of slow-smoked ribs with a pit fork and walking it over to us to slice(you know, like a real barbecue joint?) NOPE! WRONG! She turns around, opens up a small, metal container and picked up one, pale, limp, luke warm rib and throws it on a Styrofoam plate. As if that wasn’t disappointing enough, she follows up with a teeny, tiny, minuscule, micro-link of sausage and slices it(she could have left it whole, to be honest… it wouldn’t have made a difference.). The brisket didn’t look good either. My husbands chicken was pale, barely warm and was not browned at all. After sitting down, we looked at each other and didn’t have to say a word. The mutual look of disappointment in our eyes spoke volumes Our combos came with a drink and we both asked for tea. The tea(sweet and unsweet are available) was self-serve and supposedly house-brewed…I guess. It was the weakest, bland, two-day old tasting tea we’ve ever tasted! We tried asking for lemons to make the tea taste better, and after getting two teeny, tiny pieces of lemon to squeeze in the tea, we were done with this place On the way out the door we verbally discussed our astounding disappointment with each other and we both could not understand how this place was still in business. It is not Texas BBQ!!! And they’ve been open for 20 years??? It must have had different owners… because I cannot believe that patrons are liking this bbq that much. After arriving at home my husband and I both had to «run» to the bathroom. Something we ate or drank there made us both have upset stomachs. We will not be returning to this establishment. Such a disappointment. *****Note to management: ****** SMOKE your meat. Do NOT boil, bake, broil, or steam it. SEASON your meat with at least salt and pepper… the meat had NO seasoning ATALL on it. DONOT burn your beans. ALSO season your beans with at least salt and pepper and DONOT serve day old beans to your customers. BREW your tea fresh! DONOT serve old tea. If you’re going to serve your meat out of warmers, make sure they are presentable and make sure they are keeping your meat HOT not warm… not luke warm. MAKE sue your employees behind the counter genuinely smile and do not rush the customers into making a decision. ESPECIALLY when you’re not busy in the first place! You’re welcome. Do Better. This is TEXAS. We take BBQ seriously! We wasted $ 20 on this garbage. We should have drove to Lockhart, Tx!!! Or better yet locally… go to Pok-e-Joes, Smokey Moe’s, Stiles Switch, Rudy’s, Terry Blacks, Bone Daddy’s, Bill Millers(not real BBQ, but it’s much better than Branch BBQ)… and many more options than this place!

This is my BBQ place! Been eating at Branch since 2008. Staff is super friendly very family oriented you can tell they like their jobs. I wish the inside was a little nicer and they updated their high chairs because they are extremely old school, but I usually go during lunch while my little one is in preschool. The turkey is the best anywhere.

The atmosphere is very cozy and the establishment is very clean. But I was not a big fan of the food. We came in about the noon hour never been here before. There was a small line and quite a few people, so my expectation was high. First thing I noticed was that the server serving the food was not wearing gloves while serving the food which kind of set me off a little bit. The food didn’t taste fresh. I couldn’t eat all of it, it was just food to me and not even good food. Good lunch deals for the price but not worth the eat.

This place was not real bbq. The pulled pork was from a tub that probably was bought at Costco/Sams etc… The sausage was Elgin sausage which is good if you get it from Elgin meat market not pre-packed and stuffed in the steamer or oven. Asked for green beans as a side and got a soupy water downed green bean casaole from a crock pot. People were rushed through the line during lunch time and the cashier was raising her voice talking over people about what they ordered and what they are drinking and what type of bread etc. Looked like a scene from when food is served to prisoners in movies. Although the other co — worker’s were nice and it looked like it could have a nice atmosphere… The food was just not that good and tasted like left over reheated fast food bbq

This cozy, clean and warm place is a hidden gem! I was looking for a different lunch experience and I was more than impressed. I walked into a dining room filled with retro red checkered table cloths and fresh flowers at every table. The food is prepared on site and every bit worthy of «Texas Barbeque» label. Friendly service with homemade baked goods and cold bottles of grape and orange Crush soda. Tucked in a low profile strip center, don’t judge this book by its cover!

Don’t come here if you don’t like nice people. The WORLD’s NICESTPEOPLE work here. They’re gonna make sure you know they enjoy their job. And the brisket. Oh, honey. It’s tender. The peach cobbler, made from scratch, like all their goods, makes a mighty fine breakfast the next day if you order too much and end up with a goody bag. By end of day, those green beans are mush but still tasty. Owners might consider fresh batch later in the day. Oh sooooo good with a side of above and beyond service.

This was the first BBQ joint I visited once I move into the area. It really helped that I lived in the complex right next to Wells Branch BBQ, so I could literally walk there. I ordered dinner a few times, to go. Although, I would not mind dining-in because each time I went it was quiet and had a nice family charm to it. I’ve only ordered a few things, so I can’t comment on most of the menu but I will comment on what I have ordered. The plates are served with BBQ sauce, pickles, onions and choice of 2 sides:(beans, potato salad, corn, coleslaw, mashed potatoes and gravy, and green beans) MEATS: I’ve ordered the brisket the most, which is good. Not excellent but good, especially since it’s moist and tender. I also ordered the chicken once(and never again) Seemed under cooked and not the flavor I expected. SIDES: Beans — not a fan, not flavorful or seasoned. Potato Salad — Again not a fan Coleslaw — was ok Green Beans — Not great/not terrible Mash w/Gravy — just ok In summary, as with all the other BBQ joints I’ve been to in Austin. The meat is the best part with the sides being mediocre at best. The strong points for me is location, decent pricing and family atmosphere.

Today I stopped in to try our local BBQ place after my crossfit workout. The atmosphere was nice, very home style, lots of people were eating it was busy inside. Went up to the counter said, «i never been here before» when they asked if they could help me. I was hoping this would be followed by «we have this, this is popular etc… i recommend…» Anyways, i got my order to go, I got the chicken, mash potatoes(they were out of green beans) and slaw. Chicken was pretty good, not as smokey as other BBQ places. Luckily their sweet BBQ sauce was yummy! so I dipped it in there. I going to go back and try other meats, because its local and family owned and I like supporting local businesses. To the owners — When someone comes in again and is new, small samples would be a good idea, or see what they are interested in. Gives people options to try different things, every BBQ place has a different style on their cooking, let them taste yours :)

Wow… how did I not find this place before? Absolutely love Branch Bar B Que! I got the 2 meat combo — sausage and chicken had wonderful taste, green beans where very tasteful and not out of the can and the mashed potatoes and gravy where AWESOME! Nice selection on the menu. Very friendly people. The nice thing is that the owner is a the pit master. He was at the restaurant when I was there. It was good seeing that the owner is still running his restaurant on site, rather than having someone else run it for him.

I told em’ I’d Unilocal em’, so here I am. Great food, honestly. Im not a crabby bbq snob, but I like what I like, and am picky about those preferences. I cant tell you how deep the ring of smoke was, or any of that, but it was good. Their sauce was sweet, which was nice. Their potato salad needed a little pickle, but I just threw some in at home, and their mashed potatoes and gravy were great. Beans were great, love the beef in them– and cookies delish. Now, to the meat. We have chopped beef = approved by all my kids! Sausage was good, not dry, not greasy, and brisket was nice and tender. Branch, Ill be back.
