I was happy to see a frozen yogurt shop open up nearby but then I tasted it. The product was icy and lacking in flavor. Once was enough for me.

Austin Chill is one of the newest additions to the Oasis and is owned and connected physically to Austin Java, another new Oasis resident. Who doesn’t love frozen yogurt during a Texas summer and dessert is one thing the Oasis was lacking. And to top that, it is locally owned! The walls are made of «cool blue» colored tiles(is that a color?) lined with a half dozen or so yogurt stations. The tables have the cutest fresh cut mini bouquets. The seating is primarily inside but there is a lonely table outside facing Soleil. My first visit I tried the non fat, no sugar added strawberry banana. The yogurt stopped short as it was to beyond frozen and no mas would pour out. The flavor, lacking. I considered that the location opened recently and new it deserved another shot. The second visit I tried the Dulce de leche(gluten free), cake batter(low fat) and the thin mint(non fat). Wow, the Dulce de leche was delicious. The cake batter was super rich and the thin mint was a hit for a non fat low calorie option. This visit, however as tasty as the yogurt was, the yogurt was to soft and melted before I ate it(we are talking about 5 ounces eaten in about 3 minutes. yes I inhale my froyo). This place is new, local and they are trying out a new product. I will definitely come back in a few weeks, I know they will eventually get it right and be a hit dessert spot at the Oasis.
