5 stars solely for supporting local art and artist. Also, their is jewelry here that is awesome and unique. The only shopping experience that is as eclectic as this is the Blue Genie Art Bazaar at Christmas time. The stock changes consistently so it is hard to say it is good for one thing or another but my favorites are the Austin-centric paintings and the jewelry for my lady friend. This place is a must stop location if you are out at the Oasis Texas shopping center. It is located upstairs next to the Uncle Billy’s.

I love the fact that the owner«craves» & «boasts» local artists. My favorite area of this store is the jewelry!

Yay! A super fun artists showcase in a museum setting… and we didn’t have to drive into the big city to find it. I love all the different price points too. It’s like only the best stuff has been picked to sell! It’s kind of random too, which I guess is the bazaar aspect of the shop… which is awesome. You can buy expensive amazing local art for your walls, or you can soothe yr kids, who happen to be in tow because you just ate BBQ next door but now need to browse walk it off, with gag gifts under $ 5.00!(hello run on sentence, how are ya?) The curator was super sweet and not snooty at all. If you can’t find a gift here, you just aren’t a very creative person. Seriously? Any place that sells custom Burt Reynold’s throw pillows with 3D mustaches, is a place I wanna frequent. Love this place.

I guess I need to get a little arts and crafts into my lifestyle because I felt a little awkward but amused here. It was like I was visiting one of those tourist shops back in Galveston… on wait, it is a tourist shop. There were some really«strange to me» items that I cannot even begin to explain but at the same time it was like a «neat» strange, entry level word to an oxymoron? The walk through here was entertaining and was not bothered by any over zealous workers here trying to sell me anything so if your looking for somewhere to pass a little time till the restaurants open around here then here’s your Huckleberry.

Great art from Austin artists, great salesperson that wasn’t bothered by a 2 year old waltzing around, touching everything, picking up breakables, asking a million questions and generally acting like a 2 year old. The salesperson explained that Blue Genie works with local artists to display and sell their art in their shop so they can focus on creating more art. They have everything from jewelry, pottery, t-shirts, soap, paintings, other unique items… They even had a vintage pop can from Hy-Vee(grocery store chain headquartered in the great state of Iowa). If you’re looking to support local artists and happen to be at the Oasis, this place has a wide variety with reasonable prices, friendly staff with no pressure to buy.

If you are a fan of the Blue Genie Art Bazaar and local art, you must check out the coolest new resident of Oasis Texas. Blue Genie is filled with unique gifts, showcasing local artists. The store is amazing cool! You will find the perfect gift for everyone to include the person who has everything. From origami bird earrings, UT themed soaps, crayon and colored pencil bibs, Tom Selleck mustache pillows, my little pony portraits to your more tradition items such as blown glass art, canvas paintings, candles, hand crafted birthday cards and fine jewelry. I couldn’t resist indulging in a few of the sushi shaped soaps and picked up several cards. The staff is friendly and proud of keeping it local. I also found them knoweldgable about the artists and the products they sell. A bonus? They don’t mind if you sit on the alligator!
