People say: «You are what you eat.» I’m extending that to «You become what you pick up.» I’ve had Allied Waste Services for over five years now and they started off like a waltz. Service was relatively cheap, the rounds were always on time and they always placed the bins back in their place. Fast forward to now — rates have gone up by at least 30% and they blame gas prices. That’s all fine and dandy but why can’t I use that excuse? Also, forget being punctual. Now they just plain old play hookey and service is sporadic, at best. Some days they just decide to skip my street entirely. When you only have two trash days a week, this can cause some serious stinkage. Lastly, it appears the«sanitation officers» that have been coming by as of late are into video games because the bins on my street get knocked off in everywhich direction. I’m guessing they are playing GTA or some NBA game with the bins and keeping score. So if anyone wants to know how to turn trash into shit rather effectively, AWS can help you out. The good news is our arrangement(which more resembles a monopoly) with AWS is coming to an end soon — in January. I’ll hold off until then and who knows, in the meantime I may have a little video game fun too in return for five years of hellish service.
