Ordered through grubhud and took a little longer than quoted but the food was really good. Much better than Subway or Thundercloud.

If you are feeling constipated, or need to lose 10 lbs by 3pm, have the burrito bowl.

New management around 1 ½ year ago is much more generous with portions. Good quick sandwiches, etc. Courteous service.

It’s a depressing day when I resort to eating at Murphy’s Deli, and this is how it goes: It has the feel of going through the cafeteria at school with not much payoff at the end of the line. It’s so empty that you know it’s not going to be very good, and the people in line have that listless look on their face like they’re more concerned about eating for the sole purpose of maintaining their blood sugar before they turn cranky and not because they care about what it is they’re eating. I really only get one thing when I come here and that is the Gyro. When they pull those pre-sliced slabs of conglomerate beef/lamb meat out of the deli paper wrapping and pop it into the microwave, I simultaneously feel ashamed of my Turkish heritage and my inner voice always says, you can do better than this, Deniz, but I quickly shush him and start thinking about more important things like, do i want to get bell peppers today, or should I just stick with red onions and maybe cucumbers with that bagged iceberg lettuce base? Should I ask for extra tzaziki sauce today, or should it be a one squirt kind of day? I eventually settle on the fillings and sauce, and sit down with a bag of Sun Chips and stare out the window towards Cesar Chavez thinking about what I’ve done, feeling just a little lazy for not having cooked the night before and having leftovers to eat, or for having the willpower to venture out a couple blocks farther from the office for real food. Before I can complete this thought process though, I realize I’m done eating, about 80% full, and head back to work before doing it all over again in about 6 months.

A vegetarian sandwich the person at register sold to me. It was good. I am not sure it was that but I hope it was.

Murphy’s you’re in the lobby of my building, so by default you’re a go to spot. However, what keeps me coming back is that you use a generous portion of REAL(not powdered) eggs on your breakfast tacos, the bacon is always crispy, and the homemade salsa is spot on! The price for being in the lobby of a downtown office building is completely reasonable! I wouldn’t say it’s a must-try place in Austin, but if you’re in the buildings around mine and don’t want to walk over to second street Murphy’s serves its purpose well!
