I had them replace a power stearing pump for my Lincoln Navigator. When the replacement pump failed they were really good about replacing it, at no extra charge. They really know how to treat their customers when these unfortunate things happen. They really care about customer satisfaction! (They changed the pump out in 2 ½ hours. Extremely fast.)

We’ve been coming to see Abee for over a year now with all of our car needs. It’s usually me since my husband is at work, and I always appreciate how non-​intimdating it is here! Abee and his staff are honest and dependable.

I have found a new automotive shop that has gained my confidence. I was referred here by a long-​term customer of Abee’s that is not easy to please, so that is what made me think I might be onto something good. She generally has a distrust for repair people, and thinks everyone is overcharging her.
I called for a quote prior to bringing my car in. I am pleased to say that I got a complete brake job, with rotors and I feel like I got a very fair price and that the place does quality work. The staff are intelligent and professional, and the place is orderly and clean. I found it easy to schedule the work, and the shop is accessible off north Lamar behind Chuy’s.
I was also convinced I needed struts (very expensive), and asked them to check them out as I thought my car was riding rough. At that point they could have said they needed to replace them and I would not have known the difference. However, they checked them out, and even test drive my car and told me the struts were fine! Made my day!!!
I referred another friend there who was also pleased with their work.
Update: I have been back several times since this review, and they continue to have my confidence. I recommend this repair shop without reservations.

Without a doubt, the most trustworthy mechanic I’ve ever dealt with (and I’ve dealt with my fair share of them).
Multiple times, I’ve taken my car to him and he does the job for considerably less than the dealer or simply tells me there is no issue, save your money. He’s had numerous opportunities to charge me to look at my car or fix something that didn’t really need to be fixed and he’s never done it.
He’s great to work with and a very nice guy on top of it all. Couldn’t recommend him more highly.

Abee is an excellent mechanic and a nice guy, too. They don’t treat women like we’re idiots — unlike most mechanic shops. They are more than accommodating when I have a warning light come on, they work me in and diagnose it — usually in less than ten minutes. They tell me if the car is safe to drive or if I need to let them fix it immediately. They do repairs quickly and their prices are less than other places I’ve gone. They don’t «find» a bunch of other things whenever I go in for routine things, but they do check all the fluids and make sure everything is in good working order. I send my friends to them! And what the earlier reviewer said is true – no fancy waiting room with espresso machines – but then there are no frills added to the bills either.

This is the second time I am writing this review because my first review was somehow removed from this page.
Came into the shop to have two wheels ordered and put on my car after an accident. they tried to overcharge me 20% on the wheels/​tires for no reason what so ever. I also found after picking up my car they charged me $ 180 to mount the tires on the rims… but the wheels were shipped from the factory with the tires already mounted to the rims. They also decided to do an alignment and charge me for it without contacting me for approval to do the work. My wheels were being replaced through a warranty and they were trying to ripoff the warranty company, when they declined the additional costs the shop was trying to charge the shop tricked me into signing some document that said I would be responsible for covering the $ 500 remaining cost that the warranty did not cover, which the warranty should have covered all costs but with the random charges they were trying to make I had to pay out of pocket. Was able to talk them down $ 300 but ended up giving them and extra $ 200 just to get my car back. The people here suck at life.
Found this out today, which is 5 months later, that my rear axle was also bent. Not sure if this happened while in Abee’s shop or what. I would think a half decent auto tech would notice a bent axle when they are doing an alignment and replacing two rims that were damaged from hitting a curb.
I wouldn’t trust this place to put air in my tiers. Abee’s Hi-​Tech Auto Service, never again.

As almost anyone knows, finding a mechanic that you can trust is worth more than just peace of mind… it’s the confidence that what you need (and only what you need) will get fixed right the first time at a price that’s fair.
Abee’s Hi-​Tech Auto Service is not going to win any awards for the beauty of its showroom. You’re not going to find a barrista (I’m talking about you Lexus Service department) and there certainly isn’t a gift shop. As for the the loaner car? It’s probably coming in the form of a ride from a good friend.
Tucked away near the Chuy’s on Lamar, what you’ll find is the kind of garage that will tell you the truth and get the job done. And isn’t that what you really need?
Abee recently replaced the starter on my 2003 Lexus ES 300 for less than half the price quoted by the local dealer. The job was finished in less than three hours and he even took the time to show me the part he replaced and warrantied both parts and labor for the next year.
While he’s quite a mechanic, his golf game needs work. When you stop by; give him a pointer or two and he might knock a bit off the price.
