New Year’s Eve conversation with drunken(and favorite) aunt: Me:“Well, at least 2011 can’t get any worse than 2010, right?“ She: «That’s a good point. We’ve had all the death and heartache I can imagine. Surely a just and righteous creator wouldn’t heap even more sadness onto this family.» Me: «Yeah! Let’s get drunk and make more ominous predictions for the New Year!» Five days later, after finding out an employee of the family business for 20 years had embezzled over $ 100k during the time my dad was dying in the hospital.. . She: Well, maybe next year. Me: Let’s not get too excited. Moral of the story. I’m glad I’m breathing and I’m grateful for every second. Things can always get better, but getting attached to a particular outcome is like shouting at the rain. What happens happens, and I’m not going to expect the best or the worst. And never say«at least things can’t get any worse,» because apparently that is the killing phrase.

2011 starts out with a bang… I fell down our stairs on new years day backwards, somehow I missed a step. I was not drinking or on drugs, I was a klutz! My wife saw it and kept laughing at me. I am sore all over today! Hope the year gets better!

1. So far, I am not impressed. 2. Are you making these changes, or is it me? 3. I feel the need, the need for speed.
