Neapolitan Cupcakes

When Neapolitan was in Aiken I tried it once and was done. The close proximity to me in Augusta finally lured me back in the store. I purchased a salted caramel and a chocolate lovers.
1. Salted Caramel — the frosting and filling were spot on, even the flavor of the cake was good. However, the texture of the cake was a bit off. A little tough and dry.
2. Chocolate Lovers– great presentation! Overall? Not sweet enough!!! The frosting was so bittersweet– which may have been okay if the cake was really chocolatey and sweet. The cake texture was good and it was moist. The flavor was just not there.
Oh well. I tried. Cute space in a location that’s easy to get in and out of.

I have been on a state to state quest for the best red velvet cupcake, so far this place out ranks all of them. I usually try some sort of strawberry flavored cupcake and red velvet. My reason for always trying red velvet is because I have found that most red velvet «gourmet» cupcakes are extremely dry and flavor less. The only flavor seems to come from the lump of butter cream icing that sits on the top. Not at this place. The cake in the cupcake was delicious! Yay!
Also, the shop is just the cutest. I am a girly girl so I love the very girly décor. They also have a cupcake rewards program. I will definitely be a repeat customer.

Found this place by accident, but wasn’t disappointed! Tried the vanilla, peanut butter cup and cookies and cream. Despite earlier reviews, the cupcakes were soft and moist and the frosting was creamy. The shop décor was very modern yet cutesy, perfect for a cupcake shoppe, will come back on my next trip to augusta!

Visiting from Hawaii and stopped in after spotting it next to Kinki Sushi (where we had lunch). I am in love with the décor. The cupcakes were awesome, especially the frosting. Yum! Will definitely be back next time we’re here :-) Thanks.

I had a sweet tooth and decided to locate and check this place out. I had seen a few ads for them. Its neatly tucked away in a strip mall of off Washington Rd. As I entered the cutely decorated establishment all I smell was the smell of freshly baked cupcakes. What a smell!!! It was almost the end of the work day and the staff were setting up for a party, so they were a few cupcakes still available. I tried the Red Velvet and Lemon Zest cupcakes. The Red Velvet one had the most delicious icing on top of it and The Lemon Zest was just as tasty. Both of the cupcakes were hard around the edges but they were still soft and moist on the inside. The Red Velvet one had too much cocoa in it, that it tasted like a chocolate cupcake. It tasted nothing like Red Velvet, but it was still edible. The Lemon Zest was tasty and not lacking in the lemon flavor. They hit the spot though. Next time I think I wil try the more basic flavored cupcakes.

This place is very cutesy. The cupcakes themselves are okay… i wouldn’t give them awards, but they do the trick when you want one. The cupcakes are kept cool so the frosting does tend to be a bit hard. Speaking of frosting, I’m not a big fan of the ratio of frosting to cake here. There is A LOT of frosting. I’ve tried the chocolate, lemon, and strawberry and out of those I only liked the chocolate. The lemon and strawberry had a little too much flavoring in it and was too strong. I think they’re good as long as you stick to the basics.

Great variety, inviting charming store, open floor plan & friendly staff… but the cupcakes… the cupcake were dry, hard & the frosting was tooooo much & tooo strong. I tried lemon zest, strawberry delight, pralines n cream & hazelnut (which is usually my fav). I think id rather drive the hour & go to CUPCAKE in columbia (also in charleston) or bake some on my own @ home :((funny bc the other customers were regulars & the staff knew them well, but all the reviews were negative, hmmm also– the staff didn’t know ab Unilocal! *tisk tisk)

VERY CUTE cupcake restaurant and very inviting, however… we ordered cupcakes out of the case and it literally took a knife and fork to cut into the icing and cupcake. The fresh cakes may be better, but the pre-​made cupcakes are not good! Will consider FRESH next time! Disappointed!
