Spirit Bar

I asked the bartender for recommendations, and was given a list of promotional drinks. I wished I had ordered one of those (at $ 10) but I thought they would be more expensive than a house margarita. I was wrong, and for $ 11 it was terrible.
A pet peeve, the televisions were all set to ESPN. It would have been nice to have Fox Sports 1 on at least one for variety.
The only good thing about this bar is the location. It was close to the boardwalk and convenient while I was waiting for someone.

How has no one ever reviewed this bar???
I visited this bar twice in the span of a month (once for a college reunion weekend and again for a bachelorette). Both times I had a great time! Despite the fact that Showboat attracts an… ahem. older clientele, Spirit Bar has a great mix of late-​20, 30 and 40 year olds.
Drinks, as expected, are expensive– $ 5 – 6 for beers, $ 10 for mixed drinks (Pro Tip: There is a convenience store outside the bar– buy your beers there!) They always seem to have live music in the «Party Pit» and a DJ will keep the party going until 6 am. Also, they have a bunch of gambling tables, TVs, and couches (I guess they do bottles?) so pretty much a good mix of a little bit of everything that AC has to offer. Also, there is no cover. Score!
They lose a star for two reasons– 1) the website is terrible and doesn’t get updated with band schedules and 2) security is really intense. Now that may be a good thing (they threw out a creeper while we were there) but it makes you feel uncomfortable to have security staring at you the entire time.
But overall, I really like this spot– yeah, it’s in a slightly meh hotel, but its a great place to bring a group for a fun night out.
