2nd Time brunching at House of Blues in AC and 2nd time Loving every bit of it. Took a while to get seated because this is one of THE places to brunch on Sunday. As soon as we sat down, the waitress took our coffe order and within minutes we had coffee mugs and a 2 thermoses of hot, steaming, piping coffee at our disposal. 1st Star for leaving the 2nd pitcher on the table filled with café! I ordered one of the traditional brunch fares, Eggs Benedict. When my plate arrived, there were two beautifully dressed eggs with Hollandaise sauce over perfectly poached eggs and English muffins. Other orders at our table were the Belgian waffle which was huge and loaded with beautiful fresh blueberries and another order of the Spanish Omelette. I have to mention that most of the brunch items are paired with their beautiful potato hash browns which are sliced super thin and baked to a golden crisp. We all walked out super filled and satiated. It’s a damn shame that this place may be closing as it is housed in the Showboat hotel which is destined to close on Aug 21st.

Probably one of the best music venues I’ve ever been too. Setup, acoustics, access to booze. Perfect. Rumor has it this place is closing up because the Showboat sucks. Sad I won’t see another show here, has a lot of memories for me. In regards to what the other Unilocalers are talking about, the restaurant attached to this venue — it’s alright. Not a bad place to grab a bite to eat before the show. Sometimes you get an awesome waiter who hooks you up with a skip the line pass as well because you ate here. In my opinion it’s totally worth it for a show that is general admission. Stick with a burger and fries can’t go wrong.

** Only doing it from a concert perspective I thought this venue was great for shows. It’s intimate enough where you feel like you’re closely connected to the act you’re there to see. I might not have seen it but would be nice if there was more signage to guide you around the casino to get you here. When you’re waiting in line, it’s a bit awkward due to the set-up but didn’t bother me much. Once you walk in, it’s very spacious and I’ve enjoyed all the shows I’ve came to see here.

For anyone that has room credit to the showboat hotel. This is only place that the woman at costumer service said we spend the room credit on. First off, the hostess took so long to get to the non — card holders for us to be seated. We ended up sitting at the bar. The guy at the bar was rude and took almost 40 minutes for us to get 3SIDEORDERS. I repeat. We only asked for side orders! At the same time we looked at everyone else’s orders at the place and they looked pathetic. The side orders came out fine, thank goodness. But I should never have to wait 40 minutes for 3 goddamn sides!

Was here twice. The first time the waiter was a ding bat. The food was RUSHED out. Apps then 2 minutes later the entrée. The second time the waiter must have been trained by the first ding bat. Couldn’t answer a question about what beer they had on tap. The third time(gluttons for punishment or I never learn), the food came out cold and was horrible. Sent it back and I will never go back nor will I recommend to any one. Aaron Sanchez should remove his name from the restaurant.

Since we stayed at The Showboat, we grabbed a quick bite to eat here. Our server was okay, not overly friendly, but not a douche either. HOB isn’t a special restaurant or anything, but I like the convenience and the food was good. There were 3 of us but we didn’t have to wait, which is always a plus. Some restaurants get super crowded!

It’s in the Showboat and it took us a minute to figure out how to get there(take the escalator). I was there on a recent Friday night with my BFF to see Passion Pit, and when we walked in my first impression was that it looked much like the Electric Factory — a giant black box. Then I realized there was an upstairs! We may or may not have sweet-talked our way to the upstairs balcony even though our tickets were general admission. What can I say? I’m a smooth operator. The balcony is where it’s AT — pay the extra money for seats in the balcony. You get an actual seat(I’m an old lady, 4 fours on my feet doesn’t sound fun at all) and the bar and restroom facilities in the balcony are much nicer/less crowded. Our drinks were also $ 4 cheaper upstairs, which I found strange. Could have been a mistake. Gin sours were decent and very strong. The show was great, the opener was particularly good(The Joy Formidable put on an awesome set), and we got some gratis VIP treatment. Can’t complain about that! The security presence in the show is significant– this is not a place to smoke weed. Seriously. Even some people who thought they were being slick with a vaporizer got tossed out. The search to get in isn’t anything crazy but there were yellow-shirted security staff everywhere. Minus one star because it’s in a casino and I would rather not give my money to any kind of casino-based business. That’s my own personal preference, though. As far as music venues go it’s pretty good.

This place had such disorganized staff. We weren’t allowed to have bags so we had to walk really far away from the venue to check our things in. Then we had to wait in a really long line for will call because the workers would refuse to print stub hub tickets for people. Which turned out to be a big deal because they can’t zap the code off of your phone with their scanners(like you can at the airport). Maybe it’s not like this for every concert. But I wouldn’t want to come back here unless it was to see an artist that I couldn’t miss. I went to see bassnectar so understandably the crowd was younger and more creepy in general so maybe they were stereotyping. The bass was too loud and the songs were distorted to the point that it took me forever to figure out if the songs I liked were playing. The drinks at the bar were painfully expensive as you’d expect. I mean, I personally had a good time with my good friend but I’d rather see an artist in the Wells Fargo center in philly.

As a bachelorette party without reservations on a Saturday night in the summer, the House of Blues welcomed our party of 10 very easily. Since the Showboat is a bit more remote than other casinos, it was easy to see why we were able to get squeezed in last minute. Our server was nice, but a bit«old school». She asked if we were waiting for others, which we were, but never took our drink orders til everyone arrived. The food was just mediocre, but it was fine since we had a late lunch and just wanted to fill up before a night of partying. I shared the House of Blues salad and the rigatoni with a friend. The rigatoni was VERY spicy. I could’ve made it at home myself. It was basically overcooked pasta with tomato sauce, chunks of cheese and chili pepper mixed in. The salad was good, but I don’t think I would’ve found it to be fulfilling as a meal. For less than $ 30 a person, we each got a meal, and shared a couple of cheap bottles of wine. $ 22 for a bottle in AC is great! We were seated next to another bachelorette party. I wouldn’t go here for the food, but it was fanstastic that they were able to welcome us in at the last minute. The atmosphere isn’t bad, but it’s pretty bright and was nothing special.

I ordered the fried chicken and I took one bite and sent it back. It seems like they used the same oil to fry fish & chicken. Therefore my chicken had a fishy taste to it. Luckily, my waiter was very nice and offered to take it back and remove it from my bill and offered me to order something else. Overall experience was just– OK. Will never go back to that location.

Review for breakfast only. Had the breakfast buffet and it was okay but nothing special. It reminded me of something between say a buffet chain and a good continental breakfast at a hotel. It had pancakes, eggs, bacon, home fries, omelet station, etc. The Belgian waffle station with strawberries was a highlight of the meal. Overall, everything was okay but nothing special. For $ 18 including coffee and orange juice you’d hope for a little more but it wasn’t bad. Bring your casino card for a dollar or two off your meal.

Been here a few years ago to see a cover band. The place was ¼ full and the bars empty … easy to grab a 8 $ beer and get back to pretending the band you were listening to was really The Foo Fighters. Overpriced beers but the place seemed ok. Back again this time to see Shinedown and Bush. man, what a different experience. Started off great, We had decent view of the stage front and center(standing room) but once the sound kicked in … Holy shit !! Loud as fuck. this is coming from a guy who blares Slayer and Metallica in his car on Max. The sound was so loud that when screaming i still couldn’t hear my wife next to me lmao. Maybe i just reached«that» age and I am starting to mellow out but i was somewhat concerned(still didn’t leave my spot… by choice anyways) with possibly causing serious damage to my hearing. A mixture of being blown away by the speakers and constantly bothered by some drunk asshole giving hip checks to my wife pretty much forced us to move. Once we moved the concert just sucked… fought our way to the back, back part of the venue behind the sea of people and apparently behind any speakers… View, sound quality and the atmosphere as a whole is that much more terrible nearly 20 feet away from the stage. How can that Be ?? Its a small venue for God’s sake. It sounded like I was listening to a couple of 6×9’s out of my bro’s honda… Maybe i’m just too picky. too loud up front and not loud enough in the back. Hob should invest in a makeover and audio upgrade. It needs it !

I’ve been to the HOB several times for concerts and never had a bad experience. The sound is good, drinks are flowing and overpriced(like most concert venues) and there’s not a bad«seat» in the house. Ticket prices fluctuate depending on the act, but usually I’ve been able to see who I want for around $ 35 – 40. I’ll definitely be back to this venue in the future.

*3.5 stars* A very good venue to catch a concert. Went here with a bunch of people and my gf to catch the Carnival of Madness tour to catch Halestorm and Evanescence. The main area is standing room only with 2 large bars on both corners to get your drink on. The main stage is smack in the middle and the acoustics are very good. There is a balcony area for those who want to splurge. Plenty of elbow room is you were a bit back from the stage. Be prepared to pay a lot for drinks(stadium pricing). Bathrooms are ample unless it’s in between sets.

Went to the Worship Surf Bar for lunch. The service was slow and the waitress kept on blaming everyone but herself(first the bar, then the kitchen). No offense ma’am, but we don’t give a shit whose fault it is. It is what it is. It’s your job to bear the brunt of others’ mistakes. Sucks, but that’s the way it is sometimes… That being said, the food was surprisingly good here. I was expecting rather mundane pub/bar fare, but it slightly better. My chicken sandwich was served on a really good bun(as was my friend’s hamburger was) and the veggies seemed fresh. Lastly, I’d avoid getting a cocktail here. They were a little too sweet. So in sum: Food: 4 – 5 stars Service: 1 star Drinks: 1 – 2 stars

Really, we drove 4 hours to get to AC? And then when we get here, the venue is a bit disappointing. But luckily, the concert we came to see was AWESOME. The HOB is located inside a behemoth of a building, like a mall complex. I’m not a big fan of malls, but that is besides the point. The HOB is on the second floor and on the first floor, you can find casinos, gambling, and all sorts of non-vegetarian friendly places to eat. Yuck. We get here close to 8pm but we were told that GARBAGE would not come on stage until 10pm. Sweet, we now have time to eat. Too bad, we had only limited options. HOB is a spacious venue, with a few TV screens around and you can get a pretty decent view of the stage anywhere on the floor. The drinks are pretty boring and just as expensive as NYC. I’m not really a big fan of AC and the entertainment it provides, but the GARBAGE concert was really good. I would die for you… I would lie for me… I’m only happy when it rains… I’m only happen when it’s complicated. BTW, Garbage has a new album out, entitled, «Not Your Kind of People.»

*Foundation Room* It was the coolest spot in the HOB, and were not talking makeup here, lol! This place is heavy on Middle Eastern motif, with statues of Hindu Deities. The DJ’s and the music was poppin’ that nice Saturday Night. People in their 20’s and early 30’s.The drinks were bold and delicious. Everything about this place screams fun celebrating fun. Anyway I simply had a great time and I love the Foundation Room.

The best spot to catch a concert when hanging out in Atlantic City for the weekend. Have seen a few here over the years — Godsmack, Papa Roach, Billy Idol, Heaven and Hell — and have had a great view no matter where I was standing. Most concerts are general admission and seating so get there early and claim your spot as everyone jockeys for position and will fight to the death to hold onto that little piece of real estate that they are standing on! There are two levels for this place, and if you are lucky enough to get the top level along side the railing there is seating and a prime view. Lower level in front of the stage is standing room only. Sound acoustics are actually pretty good. Bathrooms are relatively clean for a rock venue during a crowded show. Drinks are overpriced all things considering. Get your drink on in the casino first as it is a bit cheaper that way. Cool décor centering around a jazz and blues motif. The House of Blues is situated inside the Showboat Casino. It’s located right off the Boardwalk and also includes a House of Blues rocking casino area with a DJ or live bands playing on the weekend, hot female go-go dancers, a poker room, a restaurant featuring Southern style cooking, a multi-level concert venue, Club Worship nightclub, and the Foundation Room which is a private membership club. Just a lot going on here, and a great way to spend a weekend gambling, eating, and rocking out!

First time at the House of Blues restaurant, it was pretty good. We had a party of 7 plus an infant so we had to wait a little bit. We also compounded the issue by requesting three separate checks. After asking the waiter if the chicken rice soup was spicy and he said no, I ordered that and the full rack of ribs. My wife ordered the open faced turkey sandwich. The soup was good(I’ve found most of the CET property soups to be good) and the ribs were pretty good as well. They weren’t totally, «fall off the bone», but close enough. They were tasty and made a mess. The service was not great, my drink sat empty for a while until we could flag him down(and it wasn’t that crowded at the time). It was good, but like all(or most) casino restaurants, it was a bit pricey for what we got, the total was in the mid $ 60’s. I’d consider going again if we were in the area.. .
