I called to ask if the item I wanted was in stock before I drove 25 minutes to pick it up. The person I spoke with was very helpful and friendly, confirming that the item was in stock and the price range. When I arrived at the store I was surprised by how big it was and the variety of sporting goods. Not being a «sports» person, I rarely visit this kind of store. I wandered past baseball supplies and saw that two Louisville Sluggers were available — one made of maple wood and the other made of ash. I gave the ash bat a couple of swings and it felt like I could knock a person into Mississippi with it so I figure it’s pretty good. I can only give this Sports Authority 3 stars because I went in for a specific item and it was a quick in-and-out experience, but I would visit this store again. Unilocal 100 #44

Good selection of running clothes. Nike, Adidas, Champion, Under Armour… I wouldn’t look here for specific sizes of sports bras though. Go to Big Peach if you need something other than small through large. The employees are not terribly present on the floor, but at the register they’re nice. Two things that could be improved though– their dressing rooms often have bent slats in the door, and the walls are covered in a thick layer of dust. I had a horrible coughing fit when I was in there this week. Someone needs to swiffer dust that stuff!

I’ve been here several times. Today pushed me to write a review for the place. Why? AMAZING customer service. I was looking around and was approached by a passing employee to see if I needed any assistance. Check out was swift and the cashier employee was very friendly and helpful with answering questions I had regarding coupons/discounts, etc. Not the most good looking interior Sports Authority like other locations, but they carry about the same things you need! It’s been around for years too so I hope they renovate soon in the near future.

I’m not so sure about this place… i get a weird vibe when I walk in. I don’t feel like I’m being watched but rather that I’m invisible. I like the fact that this place is close to where I live but the employees don’t seem to be happy about working there. First of all, there is never someone around when you need them. I’ve walked around the whole store without seeing anyone but the cashiers. When you do find someone and ask them a question they seemed surprised that you’re there… kinda like as if I had just magically appeared. «Oh, I didn’t see you there, are you talking to me? Well, I guess I can help you.» You can literally walk around for 20 minutes or so before you come in contact with anyone. I usually don’t like to be bothered while shopping but I would like the opportunity to speak with someone should I need ‘em. They have a decent selection of goods, the store is huge, and the parking lot is big(probably looks bigger due to the lack of customers there). Strange thing is, I keep going back and usually leave empty handed… my bad.

Worst Sports Authority ever. I came here about 3 years ago for a sports bra. I’ve lost that sports bra, so I’m here for another one. I cheerfully asked the employee working there where they were located. I was just pointed in some direction with no real specifics. «They’re there. Nike is here, Champion is there.» What? Umm… ok…I just walked over. They have three different brands of sports bras — Asics, Nike, and Champion. The selection was super shitty and they do not have a good assortment of sizes. Three brands of sports bras in a store that calls themselves a sports store is ridiculous. At least carry proper sizes… these were all in the super large range. There are signs all over the store that encourage customers to ask store employees for assistance in finding sizes; if a particular size wasn’t available, it would be ordered and mailed at no charge. There was one person on the floor in the shoe area. I asked her for assistance, and she told me to stand at in the cash register line. I stood in line waiting to be helped. There was no offer of mailing me a sports bra in my size. Hubs tried to get the address of a store nearly 15 miles away that carried my size. The rep just mumbled the address at us and turned her back on us. WTF? THANKS? Rude, almost insulting service here. I will definitely never be back. Their primary collection of athletic clothing seemed to consist of «Soffes» What is this, a high school supply store?

I wish they would just have huge towers of shoe boxes so we didn’t have to deal with their sales people. It would make the experience easier and better. Just spent 40 minutes to get cleats for my son because they had one person handling 8 different customers. Not sure how that company stays in business.

I’ve always considered this the«Oh yea» Sports Authority, because I always seem to forget that it’s behind Northlake mall, and today was another«Oh yea» moment as I pulled in the lot. I was looking for a solid knee brace and after department stores all had flimsy ones, Sports Authority had a quality product that fit me really well. More than once I was asked if i’d found everything okay, and when I was debating on a brace size, staff offered to pop open the case so I could take a better look at it. I hope this Sports Authority continues to thrive and stay open, because, «Oh yea» moment or not, it’s a store that’ll continue to get my service.
