We went for Sunday Brunch. Wait time was too long with reservations. Very busy on Sunday’s. If you want to just have Brunch with NOTALKING this is the place to go. Live entertainment is TOOLOUD. The place is very small. They have live jazz on the first floor and a DJ on the 2nd floor. I thought I was at a club at 1pm in the afternoon. The food was on point. Everything we ordered was delicious. Shrimp and grits, Jerk Chicken with waffles, Oxtails. Bottomless Mimosa.

The food was delicious! The service was great, no wait and the restraint was super clean! The manager even gave us his personal spot when we saw that the lot was full. The waiter was very nice and gave us great recommendations on what to eat. I would recommend this place to everyone even if you are a picky eater like myself.

This place has no structure on how to deal with guests on a busy night. It’s quite chaotic. My wife and I were told we’d only have to wait 25 minutes before we were seated. Over an hour later, we were still wondering why party after party were being seated before us. When we asked again how much longer the wait would be, the guy simply told us he didn’t know. So, we left. You should’ve just told us that from the beginning. Thanks for wasting an hour of our lives.

I had brunch with 17 of my frat brothers this past weekend and I must say, this is my favorite place in Atlanta now! The brunch was superb. The unlimited tropical mimosas were splendid. The bartender Mike was amazing. He really had great energy and knew every ounce of the menu. I would recommend everything especially the oxtail empanadas. It’s a must!

Ambience was phenomenal. I went for brunch with a few friends today(Sunday). The service was great. Food was very tasty. Two gripes –1) they need to be sure to keep the buffet filled with food and 2) their valet needs to be more efficient. However, The music was great. I danced while at my seat. :-) I was very pleased. This place is definitely a restaurant that should be on your list to visit.

The oxtails and ginger beer were superb! I was a little disappointed in the corn bread but still, the oxtails make the trip well worth it. And the ambiance is unbelievable.

I went here for a birthday dinner. We were a party of 13. We had a reservation so we were seated quickly. We all placed our dinner orders. It took 40 minutes for 11 of us to get our food. 2 of us had to sit and watch every one else eat while we waited on oxtail that came out 15 minutes later. Then when they brought everyone’s food out, they brought it in piece. So for example they would bring a bowl of rice with no oxtails. Or cabbage but you had to wait for the rest of your meal. The cabbage looked and tasted like a cooked bag Cole slaw. The oxtails tasted like they put barbecue sauce on them. Someone else had curry goat and it was very tough so she sent it back and ordered oxtails instead bit they never brought her the oxtails! So she had nothing to eat at all! Although the waiter was very polite and apologetic the slow service and sub-par food was unacceptable.

It’s overrated… 1. Parking is horrible especially if you come on the weekend 2. We still had to wait almost an hour WITH a reservation 3. They are understaffed. It took someone 15 minutes to come over after they sat us and for a total of 30 minutes just to get water on the table 4. We ordered mimosa and after waiting 30 minutes they said there were no more flutes left to serve them in. Wtf? 5. They went up on the prices… Chicken and waffle are $ 20 now 6. Even though we were only a party of 5 they tried to add automatic gratuity even though the menu says parties of 6 or more.

The only favorite food were the waffles. Parking is ridiculous. We arrived here at 2:15pm and stood by the door waiting to be seated for another 20 minutes. Then the waiter tells us its an hour wait to sit inside, but if we sit outside we will be served immediately before dismissing us and walking away. We sat outside and waited for a server to come before an individual from our party decided to track down a server. We finally ordered at 3:12pm. She came back at 3:29pm with only waters and coffee. Then we were moved inside the building and sat down. Only four people received their food at 4:10pm. The last person received their food at 4:26pm. It was easy to spot the new workers because they had no proper training and little idea of what was going on around them. The regular servers had attitudes, barely filled our waters, did not ask if we needed anything else, and continuously served others before finishing with our table. I am not pleased with this restaurant. They are lacking people skills, communication, time management, and efficiency.

This place is busy on Friday nights! Expect your food orders to take a long time to arrive but the wait is worth it. The curried vegetable with tofu roti was delicious. The plantains tender and sweet and not too greasy. The jerk salmon was tasty. I loved the jerk seasoning on it. Come give it a try. I gave it four stars for the parking issues. Too expensive to park.

Great place. Been here twice and loved it both times. Very chilled and sexy type atmosphere. When the weather is nice, I would suggest sitting on the outside to enjoy the view.

I’ve been seeing post on this establishment for a few months, and was invited a week before. I remember thinking to myself… I don’t want Jamaican food again and I was going to back out of the invite cause it was a coooold and rainy day. Driving there this California girl already had a funky attitude, I couldn’t see the parking lot that was right next door so here comes my attitude. I parked around the corner and paid 6.00:/ on a Saturday Walk in the restaurant at around 11:05 am… It’s empty and all of the employees are setting up getting ready for their shift. I sit at the bar and ask one of the Bartenders for a ginger ale, was kinda flat but owning a club I know that it’s not their fault… Beverage control is to blame. LOL! So I’m sitting at the bar and I’m waiting on my Party to arrive. Call my cousin and she says«I’m about to walk out of the door» what?! It starts at 11:45. Ughhhh! My bad! So I sit there waiting and cool out to the songs over the speakers… And I notice the place has a really nice laid back vibe, and the décor is amazing! Finally people start coming in, a DJ is setting up and the music gets a little louder. While we wait for the rest of our party to arrive we are served mimosas Finally after about 20 mins we are seated, and water was brought to us as well. Our waiter was very polite and attentive. He takes our order… I order Jerk chicken and waffles and Mac and cheese, most of the ladies ordered either what I ordered or shrimp and grits and snapper, and plantains. They brought this big contraption of bottomless mimosas! Yessss! This review is getting too long and I’m getting sidetracked so. Let me say this! The food was great, the music was great! The vibe was great! And I want that Jamaican food again! LOL! I had fun.

I’m not sure how Jamaican food is supposed to taste, but my jerk wings and sweet plantains were delicious. My rum punch was good, but way too strong for me to drink it all.(Not a complaint, just a fact!) My server was attentive and I loved the décor. All the food was very well presented. They even made my chicken wings look high end! Definitely going back to taste the home made ginger beer.

Okay… one day in the future when FB let’s you dislike and Unilocal let’s you give zero stars, I will come back to this review and it will be THEFIRST that I will update with a ZERO star review. Facts. I live in Houston, but I frequent Atlanta and I am from NYC, the capital of Carribean food outside of the Carribean. I also have married into and have many family members and close friends from the Black Carribean diaspora. So I know the food. Let me start with the service. As MANY previous reviewers have mentioned it is ATROCIOUS. They don’t honor reservations. So don’t bother. They are rude and downright disrespectful in a way that I have never seen at a restaurant perpetrating«upscale» dining. My party waited over an hour, with RESERVATIONSMADE, to be seated and we would have waited longer if we hadn’t basically rushed an empty group of tables. When I tell you these employees were rude and could care beyond less — do yourself and your blood pressure a favor and believe me. Terrible for groups of more than 2. So don’t book this place for bdays, parties, etc. Just don’t. Another thing– I’m fit enough, but the restrooms are literally up like a million stairs. So very inaccessible for handicapped persons or anyone who isn’t Rocky in some Nike Free’s. Is that even legal? The food. It was okay. I ordered the Veggie Roti. Wasn’t good. Wasn’t terrible. Definitely not worth $ 15. My SIMPLE gin martini took 45 minutes to arrive to give you a timeline on how long you will wait for your food and drinks. I mean… I try to support local, black businesses, but I won’t be back here when I am in town, and I advise you to try the plethora of Carribean restaurants in the ATL that are sensibly priced, delicious and provide at least the level of service you would expect at, I don’t know, Wendy’s?

I went to Negril Village last night to celebrate my sister’s 30th birthday. We’ve been to the location in New York, so we were sure we would love this one just as much. We were wrong. There was a group of 20 people in our party, and we had a reservation for 10 p.m.(which was rather late, but understandable since it was a Saturday night and graduation weekend for many colleges in Atlanta). When we arrived at 9:40 p.m., we checked in with Clyde/Clive, who handled our party’s reservation. With a confused look on his face, he asked if we had an invoice. Of course, he never sent us an invoice, but we had proof via text messages of him confirming our reservation. To make a long story short, our reservation was never made, so our group of 20 people stood by the entrance waiting for over an hour just for a table. A few members of our party ended up leaving before we even sat down because the wait was ridiculous. At around 10:30, a large party of about 15 – 20 people finished their meal and the staff cleaned their table, but the staff also proceeded to separate their tables and seat two small parties of about 3 people each. For some reason, the restaurant staff told us they wouldn’t seat us there, and they could only seat 11 of us at a different table in the back of the restaurant and the rest of the party would have to wait until more tables cleared up. We were all finally seated at 10:51 p.m. at a makeshift long table, bumping elbows while we ate, but on the bright side I guess it made everyone a bit more familiar with each other. The food was decent. It took about 30 minutes to come out, but there were barely any complaints about it. As a vegetarian, I wish they had at least one vegetarian-friendly entrée(as was shown on the menu online, but the updated menu does not have a vegetarian entrée), so I had to opt for the quinoa salad with a side of sweet plantain. It was good; however, I was charged $ 17 for a $ 13 salad. When I told our waitress about it, she said«no, that’s the correct price,» so I had to point it out to her on the menu and she finally adjusted my bill. I would give the food/ambiance of the restaurant 3.5 stars, but this whole experience was a killjoy. Overall, I would probably not come back to Negril Village Atlanta. I’m sure there are better Caribbean restaurants in the area.

So I’d like to start by saying I come from a Jamaican household. Both of my parents are from Jamaica therefore I was raised with and consider myself well versed in Jamaican cuisine and drinks. I went here for the first time with a group of friends on a Saturday night for some dessert and drinks to celebrate my husband’s birthday. The hostess was very nice, greeted us immediately and told us there would be a 45min wait. No problem, she told us we can have a seat in the bar area while we waited. I was prepared to have some great drinks… I was highly disappointed. First I ordered their rum punch. Their menu doesn’t say much other than wrey and nephews and a secret family recipe. Whatever recipe it is should be kept in their family only. I’ll give the benefit of the doubt thinking maybe the bartender mixed it poorly but it tasted like watered down juice with a hint of rum. Which brings me to my next point… If you’re familiar with wrey and nephews Jamaican overproof rum, then you know it’s super strong coconut rum. There was no hint of coconut which led me to believe the bartender didn’t put wrey and nephews in it at all! Rather probably some other weak rum. Moving on… My husband is a fan of Moscow mules. Therefore I ordered him one. The menu said it was«home brewed» ginger beer. This was the WORSE tasting Moscow mule I’ve ever had!!! I blame the home made ginger beer. My mother brews her own ginger beer and I frequently drink D&G brand. There was something waaaaayyyyy off in whatever they put in their ginger beer. Rather than tasting the flavor of ginger, there was a sourness that came along with it that no one could decipher. The only thing I can say about it is, if you want to get tipsy then that is the drink to get b/c it was very strong. Now as I said earlier, we were only there for drinks and dessert. After about 30min we were seated and our waitress was very nice. Here is how they earned their 3 stars. I ordered their bread pudding and was blown away!!! It came with grapenut ice cream on top and a cream sauce that was super good and tasted like it had the rum that was missing from my drink earlier. The only draw back was that it came out luke warm so the ice cream didn’t melt on top of it like I expected. It was so good that we ended up ordering two. My friend ordered the chocolate lava cake which also came with chocolate ice cream. The only complaint she had is that it was a little overkill with the chocolate. Chocolate cake, filled with a chocolate cream, with a side of chocolate ice cream. She couldn’t finish it and would have like the grapenut or vanilla ice cream to cut down on the chocolate. No one ate an entrée so I can’t speak on that. I did see food that came out to the tables around us that looked good. If I ever return I’ll be sure to order a meal and update my review.

Visited Negril Village as a part of Do Brunch this past Saturday. I have driven by it 1000 times but never actually stopped in. It was basically like eating in a club. They had a DJ upstairs and it was a ton of fun. I have literally been craving oxtail for months so I was really happy we ended up here. I guess I overloaded on oxtail, since I ended up getting that as an entrée, as well as the oxtail empanadas. Both were pretty good, but the empanadas were a bit small. The parking lot is super tiny, and luckily I found a spot right as I got there but if there were none in the lot you’d basically be shit out of luck since there isn’t anywhere nearby to park.

One, not a fan of paying $ 10 to park. Outside of that, the food was great. Kinda empty for a Friday night dinner. We had appetizers. The collard greens spring rolls(could use a different type of dipping sauce) — good the goat and oxtail empanadas fantastic but I think the goat empanadas may have been chicken even though the waitress mistakingly said chicken when she placed it on the table :-/all and all nice looking spot with good service. One day I may try the entrees but they did seem a bit on the pricey side.

Overall: I’d recommend this restaurant. Great food, great music! Atmosphere: Nice, maybe even considered upscale, for most caribbean restaurants… but still casual. Awesome selection of reggae playing. Loud enough to jam out, but not obnoxious. Its downtown so its pay-parking, but the lot is right next to the restaurant, so its convenient. It’s a place for groups. Price: A bit pricier than most caribbean places, but it is a little nicer and the food is so worth it! Service: Our waiter was nice and the food came in a timely manner. Only issue, the waiter never came back with my change, when the tip was already include on the total as expected. He may have gotten confused with the different tickets, since they normally put it on one. So, if you’re expecting change back, just be sure to ask for it. Food: Great selection. The food gets an A++. The Jerk chicken & waffles… YUM — such an experience! Oh. and cinnamon rolls :). I’ll definitely be back to try the salmon. A couple of people in our party ordered it and liked it. It looked amazing. Also looking forward to trying it out for brunch. Do yourself a favor and check it out!
