I celebrated my birthday there in April 2014 and was disappointed in the food. Also, the table cloths were dirty so it was a little hard to get comfortable. What I did LOVE about Metro Fuxon was the staff. Our waitress was GREAT, as was a male host. One guy, perhaps an owner, was unprofessional and disrespectful to our waitress. When he spoke to/with her, his tone was very nasty and demeaning. I have no plans to return.

Wasn’t a bad little spot to turn up at the end of the night. Music was live and the crowd was cool, a nice break from the normal overpriced clubs in the area. Can’t really speak on the service or food because I only there for a quick hour on a Friday night.

Beautiful venue and really nice staff. We made reservations for a large group and they had our tables set up for our arrival. BUT our server took our orders in small groups and we all got our food at different times. This was unfortunate because we wanted to eat together. Her excuse was the fact that they only had one chef and an assistant in the kitchen. This is something we as the customers do not need to know or care about. We shouldn’t know about what is going on behind the scenes. Make it happen! You all were aware of the large groups arrival tonight so we’ve done our parts as dining guests. My boyfriend ordered lamb and another guest ordered the same thing. Given that we all ate at different times, his dish lacked presentation but hers did not. Her plate came out very neatly and his came out as if I had served it for him at home. I ordered cajun pasta and there was nothing cajun about it. I think this place should stick with the African themed cuisine and not offer anything but African food. The jollof rice was delicious! The best thing about this place is the ambiance and music. Otherwise, keep it moving.

So… this is a long one… I’d love to comment on the food, except I never got it! To start… had a reservation for 14 friends for my bday last night. When we get there, I was given a table for 12 and a high top for 2, the two tables being far from each other. My friends had to argue with the waitress to get her to understand that the setup was no good. Finally get that fixed. Reservation was for 8:00…waitress didn’t start taking our food orders until almost 9(if it wasn’t later) even though we had all been ready to order food since 8:30. I didn’t get my appetizer until 10:40 and at that time I was told they were out of goat, which I ordered for my entrée. Several of my friends never got their food either because they ran out. How is the list of what you’re out of start out so long at 8 if the restaurant doesn’t open until 5? Anyway, finally get the manager over to the table. He said he’s really sorry but isn’t trying to comp anything on anyone’s ticket. Offers a bottle of champagne as compensation because we had a VIP section reserved. Too bad the majority of my friends left to go somewhere else because they were hungry. We then get kicked out of our table because the section was reserved for other people for later. When the bottle does come, it’s a hot bottle of cheap champagne I wouldn’t buy for myself at the liquor store! I’m sure the food is really good… I nibbled off some friends’ plates and the food I had was decent. However, until their customer service improves, I couldn’t fathom giving them anymore business. I know 13 other people who also won’t be coming back!

We got there around 11 and based on the valet I knew the night would be different… Valet is on the side of the building. There was a group of people standing but I only saw one person who had on a shirt that indicates they’re with the valet company. I paid and he gave me ticket and I got out of the car thinking that it would be moved promptly. My car was still there with the door open and the engine running when I was walking in the door(about 7 minutes later) Parking is $ 10, you can try across the street for free, but they may have your car towed… On a saturday night you can rsvp for barcode saturdays and get in free. They have drink specials, but the drinks would only be impressive if you didn’t know alcohol that well. Come with comfortable shoes because the only place to sit down is in VIP. I’m used to clubs, but the size and the vibe of Metro Fuxon reads lounge so the scarce seating was very surprising. There’s no smoking in the building, but there is in the small non ventilated bathroom. I literally almost choked trying to go, and I’m used to smoking. Your bartender may be rude, and may even text while you’re giving your order. I think this was called to the attention of management. My friends and I waited at the bar while a guy berated the bar staff for about ten minutes… in front of my friends and about 5other people. After seeing that I honestly didn’t want a drink anymore :/ Overall Metro Fuxon is interesting, but if you’re used to maybe a place like Halo or even Velvet Room, you may want to skip it.

I love the owners. But for the love… service & drinks suck. Hennessy Margarita is delicious, but at $ 11 each & no alcohol you will be disappointed. Service is extremely slow & lacks every time. I have been multiple times hoping for something different but am always disappointed. Entrée sizes do not equal prices, nor do appetizers. I’d pass.

Well this is interesting… I didn’t get to try the food as boo and I were here for his cousin’s 30th birthday celebration. He had a table reserved so I figured as soon as we were checked off the list, we would walk right on in to the table right? Yeah no-we had to wait around about 30 minutes for the staff to complete table flips-basically taking the restaurant to a lounge. The awkward thing about this was the fact that half of boo’s family was already in the back area, but the staff wouldn’t let us walk back there with them… okay. Well, once we got past that snafu, every thing moved pretty well. The bottle setup was nice, we had a hookah to share, and the music was good. On Saturdays ladies drink free martini’s until 11:30(the radio promo says midnight but obviously they lied.) you have a choice of apple or peach martinis. If you purchased drinks, they were actually reasonably priced. Maybe I’ll try them out for the food one day.

The place is inconsistent, service can be great then terrible. Been there a few times and just gave up on the place.

I’ve always seen this on my way to work and wanted to try them out. This past weekend I got to do just that as I help celebrate a friend’s birthday. As we waited for our party to show up, we sat at the bar. The bartender took care of us. Drinks were on point. That was the best part of the night. The rest of the party arrived which came out to 10 people and we were seated at two round tables in the corner in the front. It was a very tight fit but we excused that. No biggie. Waitress took our orders and everyone order an appetizer and an entrée. This is the part that turned everyone off. 20 minutes after the orders were taken the first entrée comes out… wait, where’s the appetizer? Then another entrée followed by someone’s appetizer. Hold up, this isn’t how this is suppose to work! And that’s how it was throughout the night. When we asked the waitress what happened she said the cook got the orders mixed up. Mind you we had to ask the waitress instead of her coming to us and giving us an explanation. Either she failed to put the orders in or it was her first time on the job. Either way, common courtesy goes a long way. Now everyone is eating except for one guest. No appetizer or entrée for this person until everyone is completely done with their meal. It was frustrating to see one of your guests sit there looking hungry while everyone else is eating. This was my first and last experience at this restaurant. Not only that, the food was mediocre. I suggest that if you plan to visit, don’t go with a large group. It doesn’t seem they are capable to handle that capacity.

When I heard about a new restaurant in Atlanta that offers West African cuisine I was thrilled. Food from this region is widely unrepresented in the culinary world. The menu offers Nigerian/Carribean cuisine. The rack of lamb is my favorite item. The rest of the food is just ok. MetroFuxon has a great vibe for a night on the town, casual meetup, or even a laid back date. The crowd is grown and sexy and consist mainly of Atlanta’s black business people and urban elite. There is a $ 5-$ 10 cover charge on certain nights and I think that starts at 10 pm. The dj plays hip hop and r&b. There is also a an African house band. I decided to celebrate my birthday here. Reservations were made a week in advance. When I arrived I gave my name and was asked to have a seat until my section was cleared. This took about 45 minutes. Upon being seated, I waited another 15 minutes for a server to approach my party about drink orders and it took 15 more for the drinks to arrive. Our food took over 30 mins to arrive. For the most part everyone was pleased with their good but we were not overly impressed. Metro Fuxon is a great lounge. I would def come here to hang out and have drinks. I don’t see myself coming back for food unless its for an early evening dinner. This place cannot effectively handle the large crowd it draws at night and restaurant patrons.

I went here on a Wednesday night at around 8pm with some friends and didn’t leave til after midnight! The atmosphere is conducive to a good time. I was just surprised that it basically became a club on a Wed night. There were people lining up to get inside when we left at 12:30am. I did not know people partied like that on the weekdays; I’m clearly out of the loop. We had some of the small plates when we first arrived. I had the jerk chicken wings which were okay. They were not hot which I think is important for wings, despite the fact that it took 30 minutes to bring them out. The flavors were good but they were pretty fatty. My friends were making fun of me for licking the bone, but I am Nigerian, that is how we eat meat. It wasn’t because they were that good, it was just because I like the get all of my meat off of the bone! Anyway, the other girls got the tilapia tacos, sweet plantains, and beef tips. They all seemed to enjoy their food. Lastly, we split a bottle of wine amongst the five us. The problems I had with this is that it was white wine and it was not chilled. Also, the waitress did not know how to pour. There were very large inconsistencies in the amount of wine she put in everyone’s glasses. We ordered 2 more bottles and the story was the same each time. You would think she would learn after having some practice. Moreover, I did not like the service. The waitress was just kind of aloof and not very helpful. She had a stank look on her face the entire night and I was just not feeling it. I would maybe come back try some of the authentic Nigerian dishes on the back of the menu, but they do seemed overpriced. I would definitely return for a night out.

Ate here with my girlfriend on a Friday night. This is a place with tons of potential to be a top spot in ATL, but needs a few tweeks. The first thing I noticed was that the establishment is disorganized. It appears they’re new because they don’t seem to have a solid set of procedures as to how they go about seating and serving patrons. The good thing is the food is great. We ordered the fish and pepper soup to start. We had the egusi soup and goat meat dishes for entrees with a side of plantains. I’ve had most of these dishes before, as my girlfriend is Nigerian, and it all tastes authentic. Also, the portions are huge. And the drinks are made with some«umph», if you know what I mean. The service was a tad slow, but our server was really nice and attentive. My last impression was that it seems they haven’t figured out how to balance the whole restaurant/lounge thing yet. There aren’t many tables to just sit and dine at. There are tables in «VIP» that you have to buy a bottle to sit at. Overall, I’d definitely recommend eating here. Just be forewarned that you may have a little initial trouble getting settled in and seated.

Came here with some friends and hung out with one of the owners. We tried so many things from the menu, I can’t name them all but I can name my favorites. The Turkey Burger Sliders, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Jollof Rice and Shrimp were my favorite. I also tried several other dishes but they were just ok — Chicken skewers, sweet potatoe fries, spring rolls, the goat dish, plantains, strawberry salad, and wings. Nice atmosphere for dinner on the town with friends. The place turns into a club scene after 10:30p and the crowd is the younger college cowd. Not really my thing but it was fun for just one night.

Went to Metro Fuxon this past Saturday night. I heard that they played really good African and Reggae music. Parking was valet only $ 5(really good for Downtown). Entry is free before 10:30. When we got inside there were maybe 15 people inside, but we weren’t too worried since it was still early. We stood at the hostess stand for about 10 minute– no one ever approached us so we decided to just go in and look around and seat ourselves. We weren’t hungry or thirsty so we found two seats at a high-boy close to the bar and just people watched for a while. There was about 15 waitresses walking in and out of the bathroom throughout the entire night. They definitely seemed more concerned with how they looked in their cut-out shorts and stockings than they did about doing their job. After sitting there for an hour we realized that no one ever approached us to even say thanks for coming or can I get you some water. We grabbed one of the waitresses and told her we would like to order. She said that she wasn’t a waitress that night but would send one to us. 15 minutes later no one came so we grabbed a guy who finally took our order. I ordered the tilapia tacos with their Signature Cocktail and my friend got the jerk wings. Our food came out luke-warm 30 minutes later and my drink maybe 35 minutes later. You can tell that the food would have tasted much better if it wasn’t border line cold. Atleast the drink was good. All-in-all the service was HORRIBLE but this place has potential if they drastically improve their service and actually play African and Reggae music. All they played was hip-hop all night.

Ambiance and food Presentation is Great, food is… Decent. Service tonight is SLOW. As I type this I’m wating for the check which I asked for 30 mins ago. My friend was given water, I wast so lucky, however after being here for over an hour she never received a refil. I’d give this place a 3 for the food but being held hostage waiting to pay and never getting any water, and not getting the salt shaker that I asked for = bad service to me. Maybe their busy tonight, maybe even understaffed. Either way I wouldn’t comeback. In fact im contemplating leaving with out paying the Longer I’m forced to wait here for my fucking check! I just want to pay my bill

I haven’t eaten here but I did go on Saturday night. I really enjoyed it and will definitely return. The DJ was good and the crowd was very young and sophisticated(early to mid 20s). I haven’t eaten here but I heard the food is good. If you’re looking for a lounge and just want to chill and listen to hip hop music for the night, I think this is great place to go. However, the lounge is not that big and if you go, I definitely suggest you get a section.

Gosh omg, I thought I would never eat Caribbean food again when I moved to Georgia. But thanks to Unilocal I found this little jewel. Restaurant gets pretty noisy they have a live African/Nigerian band that plays awesome music! Not a place to bring a date if you want to chat though. Ordered the ‘Jerk pulled pork, with plantains, and Jollof rice’, it was do delicious, well seasoned, portions are large so you can take home a doggy bag. You know I read some of the reviews people wrote about this restaurant, honestly I had a great experience and the food did all the talking. I think what bothers most is that the atmosphere is predominately ethnic with consists of Nigerian and African. I’m sure if this was Justin Timberlake southern restaurant they would have a nicer review.

The first thing I noticed about Metro Fuxon was that I really liked the décor. Painted brick, a great bar, muted lighting and white tablecloths set the mood nicely. I had a very large party and was pleased when we were told we had our own«water and bread» person. This lovely lady came by frequently filling our water cups and ensuring we had bread(which was kind of a sweet, dessert-y bread — it was very good). One challenge that Metro Fuxon had was that they were out of a few things that I thought were pretty key — like Jack Daniels. And they didn’t have a printed cocktail menu — though they indicated they were working on that. I ended up having a Cosmo and a Lemon Drop and both were very good. To eat I had plantain chips and guacamole(good) and pasta primavera(great!). I really enjoyed the pasta primavera — it had a fresh, unique, flavorful taste with a bit of a spicy kick. The serving was huge so I had to take much of it home — it lasted two more days. My companions all seemed to enjoy their food. A lot of the food is spicy, though not all. The service was friendly and attentive though it was slow at times. I think there’s a bit of a Jamaican vibe — they don’t move too fast. That said, they definitely were aiming to please. And I had a big party. Given the size of my party, I thought they did a good job. We stayed for around 3 hours or so, eating, drinking and enjoying the live music for the evening — Saxophonist Eric Thomas. Eric was fantastic. I do think Metro Fuxon is trying to «get its groove» — they are definitely new and trying to figure things out. That said, it is unique, from the food choices, to the décor and music. I plan to go again. Hints: * Make a reservation. * Parking is valet. * It’s upscale, but you can be dressy or wear jeans(I don’t recommend sneakers though). * Go for a meal or even just to have a drink at the bar(it’s quite nice).
