Yummm!!! I love the Shrimp PoBoy… dressed! The sauce that comes on it is great, I always ask for extra. The shrimp are large and seasoned perfectly and the cajun fries are awesome! Love, love, love this place. **The wait is a bit long, but I will be back :)

Boulevard location could use more seating on the inside and more space. I think the food is good however they need to get Jimmy back. Jimmy use to throw down in that kitchen and made the best Jambalaya and fried wings. I recently saw that the location on Old National closed down and that’s a bummer because they did serve alcohol and the daiquiris were really good. For the most part, the Old National location was bigger and had more things on the menu to choose from and I felt safer there. Great place to go without having to get too dressed up on a Friday or Saturday night for some Cajun cravings. To bad it shut down.

The bright purple exterior is gaudy, and there is very little seating inside. Of course, how many people are comfortable staying anywhere on Boulevard for very long? I enjoyed the shrimp po’boy and seasoned fries I had here, but I’m giving this place three stars for nonchalant, indifferent service. I hope that next time the people are more hospitable, especially since they sell snow cones to complement your meal.

The dude used to rant about this place, I didn’t realize that there were multiple locations when I got some of the certificates off of , so we had to come to this location. If you are not looking on that side of the road at precisely the exact moment, you will miss it. Not just a blink will miss it, perhaps a half blink will do it. There are 3 parking spaces, a drive through, an offer to park at the glass shop next door after 5PM, and 2 inside tables and maybe 3 outdoor. I really don’t get it. They even have wireless Internet, so that makes folks hang around longer! So we went for our inaugural visit, expecting great things. The menu is WAY extensive considering the size of the place. The website menu and the instore menu have a few discrepancies. The day we went, they had just dismissed an employee that they learned was less than considerate to the customers, so the owner’s wife was standing in for the day, teaching her daughter the business(I love to see families who teach the kids something). I took it that the disorganization and extremely long wait on the fact taht she wasn’t use to the business flow. We noticed that they had a great deal of missing menu items AFTER we’d already paid for them. Everything is fried. Trying to do things a little healthier, so that was annoying. We settled on po boys that were extremely hot and tasty, but we did feel like we’d been on the clock, we were there so long that evening. If you want for your place to be viewed as a fast food place, look like you’re fast food. If you want to be taken as a sit down restaurant, you can’t have a drive through. Since the breakfast menu looked intriguing, we wanted to try it on yesterday. They basically decide to open/close when they want? Guess that they opted for no Saturday breakfast and just removed the time on the window — though they have a breakfast menu. Annoying.

They claim to get their crawfish fresh, but twice I’ve had *terrible* crawfish, including once on Mardi Gras day! The service is bad, no alcohol, poor location and parking. The only good thing I’ve eaten here is the shrimp po’ boy, which is why it gets 2 stars instead of 1.

I’m really enjoy the food at Just Loaf’n… when they have what I want to order. Their fish and grits for breakfast are really, really good, and I love the oyster po’boys. However, about every third time I go they’re out of what I want. Saturday it was wings, the last time it was GRITS. How do you not know you’re running out of grits? Still, it’s worth a stop if you’re in the area… I keep going back!

I like this spot. I don’t go out of my way to eat here, but whenever I am petsitting in the Cabbage I will stop and grab an oyster or shrimp po’ boy and fries. I have never been to New Orleans so I can’t compare but as a sandwhich goes these are good for the price they are.

Our office had a Mardi Gras Social catered by this place, and I must say the food was pretty dog gone good! I especially enjoyed their dirty rice! The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that the shrimp in the etoufee was not deveined. Ewwww… Now, I’d like to go to the actual restaurant now and try a po boy! Give it a try if you are in the mood for some authentic Cajun…

I’ve given up on this place. LIke everyone here says, they are slow… but they warn you about that. They’ve actually got signs saying that they’re from the Big Easy, so relax, chill out and enjoy your wait. For real, y’all. But the waiting game is not my complaint. They give you fair warning about that. So here’s my complaint: I kid you not, the last 10 times I have attempted to go there(in a four-month timeframe), they’ve been out of whatever it is I try to order, the sno-ball machine is not working, and/or the credit card machine is down. I feel like I’m on a hidden camera show or that god is playing some trick on me or something. I don’t how it is possible for these circumstances to keep happening each and every time I go. And if it’s not just happening to me, I don’t know how this place is staying in business if they can’t properly serve their clientele with the items on their menu. What a disappointment.

OK first off there are only 3 parking spaces. Then when I entered the store the cashier was on the phone at a table, mind u! She called out to the cook to take my order. I ordered an Oyster Po’boy but NOOYSTERS! I understand they are seasonal. OK so i ordered a shrimp po’boy with chips and drink. Then he went to cook my meal and finally the cashier walked around the counter and then asked me AGAIN what did I order. The cooked yelled my order to her. I went to pull out my debit card and I hear ‘OH, no u have a card, our card machine is broken’. So I most calmly put my card back, the cashier said ‘there is an ATM down the street’. Then i said ‘but I need a Wachovia ATM’. From that point I got in my car and didnt turn back. Most likely I’ll return to the restaurant but in a month or so when the machine is fixed and maybe for dinner instead of lunch to dodge the cashier. WOWIE!!! :’(

Just Loaf’n. Their name gives me fits, just to let you know. It’s all cute and folksy with its contractions but in practice, the contractions are less folksy and more like labor pains if you try looking them up and don’t have the right spelling. G’d’mn, f’ck’d up name.(How’s that for some contractions?) In another life the building that houses Just Loaf’n used to be a sandwich shop called The Automatic and before that it was a dive bar so scary that even my drunken self wouldn’t set foot into it. But the inevitable intown gentrification displaced that bar and in came the eateries. When Just Loaf’n first opened I frequented it often. Now, not so much. Sometimes this drop off is inexplicable; I just either forget about a place or it simply falls out of my rotation. However in this case, I know exactly what happened. I got tired of waiting. Good lord, make sure you’ve budgeted plenty of time to eat because Just Loaf’n isn’t a name, it’s a way of life here. I’ve seen beards take less time to make than a sandwich at this place. Sure, the sandwiches are good and I understand that they make each one to order, but should it take less time to roast a turkey than it does to make a po’boy? I once ordered an oyster po’ boy, tripped and bumped my head. I fell into a 3 month coma and when I woke up to ask for my sandwich, they told me it’ll only be a few minutes more. The food itself is fine. To tell the truth, I’ve had better po’boys, but I’ve also had much, much worse. The bread’s chewy, but in a good way. The remoulade is tasty. The sides could use some work. As Carlos said, they’re usually reheated and sometimes taste that way. During the summer, I give major props to them for serving some satisfying Nawlins Sno Balls(though my guess is there’s a pissed off snowman somewhere.) Parking is a pain and although they say you can park across the street, I prefer not to play out my Frogger fantasies in real-life. Crossing Boulevard on foot can be harrowing and though the po’boys are good, they ain’t THAT good. So word to the wise, come here at off hours. That way, the wait is manageable and parking is doable. Three and a half stars rounded down to… wait for it… just a little bit more… your patience is appreciated… three stars.

Stopped here because I decided I was not cooking. I had been here before but only got snoballs for the kids. I wanted to try a po-boy. Never had one. I got half of a sandwich«fully dressed». I liked it. There was plenty of shrimp, the bread was nice and chewy. Something was too tart for my taste though, don’t know if it was tarter sauce or pickles. I am a Miracle Whip, sweet relish kinda girl so that is the only thing I would change. Oh yeah, this place isn’t super cheap and you might be waiting a minute in the drive thru.

Best po-boy I’ve found outside of Louisiana. I was hoping to try the fried turkey, but they were out(seems like they run out of lots of things judging by the other posts), so I went with the fried chicken. Great bread, meat, and fixings. The service was friendly though we did have to wait a while for the food. Still, it was well worth the wait! The only cons on this place are the parking lot(micro) and the red beans(dried out and way too spicy).

Ooooo a catfish po-boy that tasted good enough to make me wanna slap my mama! Accompanied by some Cajun spice french fries, which were so good that I ate all of them on my way home, saving none for my man-sorry! They were all out of jambalaya, red beans and rice, and the fried turkey-dangit! Must be popular choices. They also have Boudain balls, if your feeling a lil’ gutsy *wink, wink*! The have all sorts of New Orleans goodies for sale including Snow balls that come in probably over 20 flavors including red velvet! Parking lot is TINY, but there is also a drive-through for convenience. They are also open Late night I believe the server said Monday through Thursday until 12, and on the weekends until 2am!(the sign on the door only states open until 10pm) On a side note… watch out for a shirtless sweaty crackhead while walking back to your car!

Once you get over the postage-stamp sized parking lot, there’s a lot to enjoy about Just Loaf’n. New Orleans french bread, crispy seafood and the fixins all come together for a great po’boy(wholes and halfs are available). Their sides(dirty rice and red beans and rice — two of my faves) are a great kicker to your meal, and one is included with a whole po’boy. You can finish things off with a New Orleans soda and/or a bread pudding. Although it’s not fine dining, it’s by no means a fast-food restaurant — so if you’re in a hurry, call in your order ahead of time. Either way, it’s definitely worth the wait.

Don’t let the«loaf» in «Just Loaf’n» fool you. The fine folks behind the preparation of this food don’t loaf around. During my visit, I had a fully dressed, 6-inch po’boy and it was deeeelish. Included in my gorging was an order of flavorfully seasoned fries. Considering the low price and deliciousness, this place is off da chain! I also sampled my sister’s Dreamsicle Sno Ball – big and saturated with enough flavor.(I hate it when cheap snow cone servers don’t pour on adequate liquid.) Topping off my experience was the pleasant cashier, smiling and ready to serve. When I verified with her that I wanted my po’ boy fully dressed, as opposed to my sister’s request for no mayo, she said, «I gotcha, baby!»

Ice cream was so like 2 months ago! What’s in is New Orleans Sno Balls and this is definitely the place to get them! As Leslie embraces the Asian stereotype of bad driving, we spent a good 15 min trying to look for a parking space to get some dinner at Mi Barrio. As she«accidentally«enters Just Loaf’n I told her if she doesn’t buy me a sno ball, I will just die from hunger if we have to spend another 15 min looking for a parking spot. Seriously, I should have won an Academy Award with that line and dramatic interpretation! Anyways, the Sno Balls were the BEST and were so yummy. I believe there were over 36 flavors to choose from(take that Baskin Robbins) and I’m sure you could have it the traditional way with the sweetened condensed milk. Leslie got the Lemon Lime which was pretty tart and I of course got Cotton Candy. We both agreed mine was much better with its sweet and sugary goodness! Next time we will have to try the food, but thank you Just Loaf’n for being my new summer hang out!

More like 3.5 due to the value. The Good Great Shrimp Po’Boy — certainly the best you will find in the Atlanta area(not that shrimp po’ boys are in abundance here). Please, no special ordering — dressed is the way to go. Price — A large sandwich with a choice of side is easily enough for two and less than ten bucks. Service Attitude — The folks that work here are very nice and seem appreciative of your business. The Not-So-Good The side items are generally ok, but are made well in advance — scooped into a bowl — then microwaved. Hence, dried out beans and rice can be commonplace. For some reason, even that simple process(scoop, nuke, serve) can take quite a long time. They are SLOW — really slow. Even if you are the only person in line, getting your food may take a while. The drive thru window serves no purpose whatsoever — unless you just enjoy sitting in your car waiting for a 15 minute sandwich assembly. Calling ahead doesn’t really seem to work either. Verdict Go when you are not in a hurry, keep most of your money in your pocket, and enjoy a shrimp po’ boy. Besides, if your job pays you with an actual paper check — you can stop next door and get it cashed.

Don’t drive by, COMEONIN. Thank God that Just Loaf’n is in Atlanta. BESTSHRIMPPOBOYPERIOD. Why? because it’s AUTHENTIC. The po boys make you want to haul off and slap somebody they’re so good. For the novices make sure you order it dressed. Dressed is the same thing as «with all the fixin’s». Don’t get all excited thinking that because they have a drive thru it’s fast food. Uhh no. You’re going to wait because this food is cooked to order. But I tell you… it is SOOO worth the wait. And people I need everyone to just hush for a minute because I need silence to tell you that they SERVESNOBALLSWITHSWEETENEDCONDENSEDMILK. For those of you who actually KNOW New ORLEANS cuisine you know that this is what we look for. ONLY A LEGITIMATEPLACE would serve the balls with an extra bit of cream. The exterior of the building looks a little clownish with the green, purple and yellow. No they don’t sell signs or balloons or anything else that the colors might conjure in your brain. No, this is just the place you go when you want something that will hit the mark, each and every time.

this is a great addition to the Cabbagetown area! authentic New Orleans Po’Boys and fried seafood platters(cooked to order), with gumbo and red beans & rice options as well. unlike the Stockbridge location, this is a pretty small place with limited seating and tight parking, but the food keeps a steady stream of customers who don’t mind.(don’t be surprised to see a fire truck parked outside… getting lunch/dinner for the firehouse down the street) it’s been the only business that’s surviving in a «less than convenient» location on Boulevard Ave, between Memorial Drive and I-20 which speaks to how good the food is, but don’t be in a hurry!
