Nah. This place must have changed hands because the sign had been altered and I saw nothing reminiscent of what other reviewers describe. As for the sign, I can’t remember what it said but they kept the old ‘Café’ and replaced the ‘City’ with a totally different, much smaller font. Other reviewers have failed to mention that this place is in the ground floor of a days inn. I went in at about 9 on a Saturday and was offered only the buffet — that was cold eggs, cold tater tots, cold sausage patties(I passed), cold bacon, cold waffles, and cold biscuits. This for $ 8. I will say that for diner coffee, their coffee was really pretty good, but this didn’t make up for the fact that they were offering an uncovered buffet to an empty room. I think they might actually be able to get the price down and profit up by offering the same menu but made-to-order. A definite pass, although the staff was nice.

City Café is a popular diner for Tech students or anyone else who is wasted and hungry at 3am. As far as diners go, City Café could be much worse. The wait staff is attentive and the food is satisfactory. Furthermore, the late night crowd is entertaining. I’d recommend the breakfast, such as the eggs and potatoes which are delicious and difficult for the kitchen to screw up. Normally I don’t enjoy diners, but sometimes late night snacks are necessary. Who needs to sleep for a few hours when you can stay up all night and have breakfast before your head hits the pillow? The harsh florescent lighting will keep you awake. Of course I only recommend City Café in the middle of the night when superior places are closed. The brunch in Atlanta is too good for anyone to be dining here in daylight.

City Café is home to the biggest pancake spread ever. They’re just delectable with hot chocolate and scrambled eggs. Like a true diner the burgers and fries are admirable. If you’re not into burgers and pancakes the menu has something for everyone. There is such a variety that the menu feels like a heavy newspaper. Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served all day and there are ample locations to choose from. With decent service and reasonable prices, I typically go when I leave the club.
