I’ve been here for breakfast and lunch and the food is decent. This place is located in the Sun Trust building food court. Breakfast Platter $ 5 — This platter comes with 2 scrambled eggs, hash brown and choice of meat(bacon, sausage, or ham). I thought they were going to ask me for what goes into the egg but never did, so it was just plain eggs. I wanted some onion and mushrooms in there, so I’ll have to be sure to ask next time. The shredded hash brown is great because they grill it and the outside is nice and crispy. The sausage was way overcooked, hard and gross. Bottled Juice $ 1.89

I live downtown and I eat a breakfast burrito at least once a week from the Willy’s at the Peachtree Center Food Court but today they were opening late so I decided to roam around and see if there is a breakfast burrito I had yet to try. If you are not familiar with downtown many of the hotels and buildings in this area are connected by skyways and you can literally go from Peachtree Center to the Sun Trust Plaza, where Canyon Grill is located, over a block away without going outside so you have more than one food court to roam through for food options if you make the effort. These guys will probably not get my business again. The breakfast burrito was cheap, comparable to Willy’s, but was not as good and about half the size. Plus no salsa bar, at Willy’s I load up on the salsa, I love a little burrito with my salsa. So, if you are in the Sun Trust building and looking for a breakfast burrito, I would recommend you take 5 extra minutes and walk the maze over to Peachtree Center and hit Willy’s.

It’s not as good as Chipotle, but it’s decent food on par with the other options in this food court. Here, you pay a little more for the convenience, not for the quality.

Went to lunch here with one of my co-workers. We work nearby and decided to venture to this little food court for something different. Once we got there, we remembered why we never come, its pretty much a sad village of no-name restaurants. I decided to live dangerously and try the one of a kind(to my knowledge) Canyon Grill. I was hoping it would be like Willy’s but less crowded. I’ll admit, I had low expectations from the start. The lettuce bin was full of pieces with brown edges and the chicken looked like it had nothing on it. I got the Canyon burrito(your typical burrito, without sour cream or guac, which will cost you about a dollar more). I added a couple of ingredients and ordered a side of queso in case I needed it to add some flavor. Well after drink, the grand total came to $ 10! That’s way too much for what I got. The burrito was as expected, not good. I could do better at home with one of those boxed kits. It just had no flavor, the salsa was ok but even that couldn’t save this poor burrito. The queso hardened after about two minutes and completely lost its appeal. Even the sweet tea was disappointing. I say, try somewhere else! Unilocal 365: 14⁄365

Sure, it’s a food court, and it’s Tex-Mex in Atlanta. Keep your expectations low. But I am a fan of the chicken burrito, and have it for lunch probably once a week. The chicken is never ever dry, and I am pretty darn sure that they use jasmine rice. Theoretically, this is wrong, but the reality is that it is so so good. All of the workers have a smile on their face and are very efficient. This is quite an accomplishment considering the number of jackals they have to serve over a lunch hour. The only thing they do wrong here is put the queso on top of the nacho toppings. That’s not right! Luckily, they humor my requests to put the queso directly on the corn chips, and then all is right with the universe. The soda is indeed overpriced, but they always have cups of ice water ready to go, and water is my favorite non-alcoholic beverage, so it’s all good.(Okay, the styrofoam cups are the other thing they get wrong.)

Canyon Grill is located on the Bridge Level of the SunTrust Garden Offices. The food court is the worst of it’s kind — no recognizable restaurant names. Tucked away in it’s own little corner is Canyon Grill, cooking up their mystery Tex-Mex feast. One thing I generally hate about this food court is that everything is over-priced. They are definitely making money off all the people who work in my building and surrounding buildings by having a great location. You can’t beat just walking downstairs for lunch. But come on, $ 8.75 for lunch with drink? $ 4 for a CUP(not bowl) of turkey chili? You can’t really screw up Tex-Mex. Cheese + Meat + Some sort of Starch = happy American consumer. They have all the classics– tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. These items are prepared in a supremely mediocre manner. Don’t expect your meat to have any flavor, or that maybe the owners splurged on the«fiesta style» cheese. It won’t happen. If you are really pressed to find something to eat for lunch, you can certainly find something to suit your needs here. But it will not leave you wanting more, and you will pay a high price for it.
