I love the monster slice at Camelis. Make sure you get extra cheese because they do go light on toppings. Still my favorite pizza place in Atlanta. I’m not in the area often, but always stop here when I am.

I’ve loved this pizza joint since it opened MANY years ago. Slices are huge and exceptionally thin, with outstanding crust. It’s folded over with just the perfect texture inside. I agree with some other reviews that they don’t use as many toppings as they used to, but it’s still one of my favorites. My suggestion to managers would be to use thicker paper on the trays.(Slices come on a plastic lunch tray with a thin slice of paper, not a plate.) I prefer to cut my pizza, and it tears the paper, which seems unsanitary. I have to ask for extra papers. There’s a 2nd location in L5P. Both are good.

This is probably the best pizza in atlanta. The staff is really cool, but even cooler is the kitchen staff! They are not only good at their job but also really great to talk to. I said probably earlier but actually i meant actually. the greatest pizza, and welcoming of everyone! very casual and cool and open minded place. if you’re not sure where to go for great pizza and amazing service, go to camelis on ponce!!! i mean it

Waited 20 mins, no service. The place was empty. If you have 2 or more black people in your party. Eat elsewhere. They might ignore your party and stare at their phones. We arrived at 9:00 and left at 9:25 after waiting at our table with only a menu(they didn’t even offer us water). It was a slow night and nobody else was there. They brought us a menu, and then found other things to do…

This place has treated me kindly 3⁄3 times. Ryan and Stan are true heroes in every single sense of the word. I ordered a specialty pizza. It was brought to us exactly made-to-order. Absolutely perfect. I wish everyone that works for this establishment could be honored by the president. I will work on a kickstarter for this very cause. When I think of my happiest moments, I will happily recall the newly renovated upstairs. The fried ravioli made me want to turn my life around. Service? Amazing. Food? Amazing. Also if you don’t like this place, your inner light must have died out a long time ago. Deal with it.

Cameli’s has gone down hill a over the last few months. Once in a while an experienced pizza cooker still gets it right. Now the pizzas are under-sized, under cooked and the toppings unevenly distributed. Unfortunately Cameli’s stopped its delivery service and now use a sub-par third party. I can no longer use my Cameli’s card for delivery.

Monster slices are the best. Such a good deal for the amount of pizza! My toddler loves the half monster slice on the kids menu. But the best thing is the cheesy garlic bread. Atmosphere is perfect. Casual & the staff has been friendly both times we’ve been in. We will keep going back for sure!

I really enjoyed the«Joey Woolum»(am I remembering that correctly?) pizza, an amazingly tasty vegetarian option. Delivery time was long-ish, but I can’t hold that against them as they gave me a very accurate estimate, so I knew what to expect.

I always eat at Cameli’s Pizza when in town. Just had the Papa C monster slice which is a little bit of heaven.

I live nearby, but never managed to try Cameli’s out until recently. I had walked over to Ponce City Market, but what I wanted was closed so I stopped by Cameli’s to get takeaway. I ordered a monster slice(pepperoni and garlic), garlic bread with cheese, and a salad. This added up to $ 16! Wow! *whew* Sadly, I thought the food was just average hence the 3 star rating. The monster slice is really huge though so it is appropriately names. I have a gift card for the restaurant so I will be trying out some additional offerings. I will provide a review update once I have tried more. Note that they have coupons via their email list.

Again – am I just old and an asshole, or do restaurants just slowly get shittier over time? Perhaps both! There was a time, when I had much worse fashion sense and less money, that I thought Cameli’s was a great place to eat. I literally don’t know if it’s just that I was poor and so Cameli’s was affordable and therefore delicious, or if they really did have delicious pie and have declined in quality. I have had Cameli’s pizza, and a panini(panino?!) recently, and neither were impressive, or even good. I was pretty excited about the sandwich because with cheese, salami, and bread, what could go wrong? I still don’t know exactly where it turned bad, but the whole thing just didn’t work. The meat didn’t get very hot, the tomato(why?!) was not quality, and there was no real texture variation in any of it. I ate the whole thing, don’t get me wrong, but I didn’t enjoy it and was glad someone else was paying.

Nothing special. Margherita pizzas are one of my favorites. Don’t order one from here– it was a complete rip off.

I work at a restaurant in the Ponce area and had a taste for pizza today. I chose Cameli’s because I’ve rode past and read a couple of reviews that were favorable. I came in and sat down without a greeting, smile or any type of acknowledgement from the staff. Another customer walks in a couple minutes after me and seats himself as well. The bartender/waitress looks over our way and says«I’ll be right there». I’m assuming she’s talking to me. I was wrong. She brings him a menu and begins a conversation with him. After a couple minutes of conversation with him I’m finally acknowledged when I get up to leave. She says«Sir you’re next». I told her«No Thanks.» There are too many options in the Ponce area for a decent meal. You separate yourself with service, good or bad. I guess I’ll never know what this pizza tastes like. Very disappointed.

Papa C toppings today were scant. Crust tasted old. Way too salty. The last Cameli’s pizza I got was from the Highland Ave location was much better. It was like a 3.5 star. Ponce used to be better.

I LOVECAMELI’S The service here has always been wonderful. The pizza is delicious and the bartenders are super friendly and attentive. I live upstairs so it’s nice to have such a fabulous establishment at my front door. That being said, I just read this ludicrous review written by a «Dr.» Toni B. It sounds like she must have earned her degree online, because she is obviously cracked out of her mind. Not that sexual orientation has ANYTHING to do with delivering pizza, but I know the employee she was referring to and he is not only a great friend, but an exceptional worker and human being. And… the owner is married with kids so she’s clearly writing fiction. That employee is not racist at all(Hell, he has a niece from Congo) but I don’t even feel like I should have to defend him on here. This website was built for reviews, not personal attacks by crazy and pathetic women who have too much time. Anyway, I just wanted to state for the record that the employee that Dr. Crazy was talking about is not racist, nor is this establishment and the ignorant book that she posted on here should be completely disregarded. For someone so passionate about race, she should probably learn a thing or two about homophobia and educate herself. And that has nothing to do with race. Some people just weren’t raised right I guess. Sucks for her. Anyway one more time… CAMELI’S ISAWESOME

Pizza by the slice. Open late. Karaōke on certain nights. Near Drunken Unicorn(MJQ), The Local and The Masquerade. Good spot.

First experience here was ordering takeout. The line at Chipotle was too long so I drove down the street to see more options on Ponce. Looking at the Unilocal reviews, I decided to give Cameli’s a try. First impression: The pizza is pretty good. I got the Papa C minus the black olives. I liked the thin crust. The atmosphere is cool and casual. It would be a great spot to have drinks with friends. I will go back to this location and try another menu option.

My favorite pizza joint in Atlanta. It’s not the pizza itself that keeps bringing me back, but the whole vibe and accessible nature of the place. Cameli’s is never too crowded, too loud, or too filled with smoke to stop in and enjoy a slice. Some Atlanta pizzerias might lay claim to a better pie, but the experience is rarely as casual and enjoyable as this place(looking at you Antico!). IMO, the best thing on the menu is the Monster Slice with garlic sauce. Even(or maybe especially) with minimal toppings, it always hits the spot. And for under $ 4, I walk away full and satisfied. Beer selection includes the usual suspects with a rotating list of interesting stuff on tap. The servers know their stuff and always have recommendations at the ready. Not to mention that they’ll learn your name and order if you come in even once a month; I’m not a regular at many other places, so it’s especially nice to have people remember you.

Three words: Thursday Night Karaōke Everything else is secondary– (mediocre pizza, great staff, good beer prices, can get very crowded and smokey) Go for karaōke and enjoy a slice!

WOWTHESEPEOPLEWEREDICKS I have never had such horrible service at a restaurant. EVER. I ordered a slice of pizza, and my friend ordered a small pizza for himself. He was dissatisfied with the chicken, so he sent it back to the kitchen for a different version. The manager came back and said to him«this pizza is made, your going to eat this and pay for this» after my friend voices his opposition, he was basically told to pay for it or the restaurant would call the police. I decided to play the mediator, and in good faith to the restaurant I would pay for it, if only to squash the argument. But it didn’t end there. After being repeatedly asked for a box for a pizza he wasn’t touching, my friend commented on how he would still like to talk to the manager about the pizza he didn’t want and we were told by the server to «F*ck off» and«To just pay and get the F*ck outta here» it was at this point that I told him(angrily) to not use that type of language toward customers, period. I mean, if I used that type of language I would be FIRED. PERIOD. Literally the shi**est service I’ve ever had. If your thinking of going here, stay at home and order dominoes, it’ll be cheaper and better than their cardboard style pizza. Trust me, for the love of god do not go here

Updating my review to a 5 after this vist cause it was so dang good. Despite the service, I dislike running out of drink and never getting a refill. Anyway, I have been craving a great big slice of pepperoni and I found it. The crust was soft and thin but with substance. Just the right amount of grease, Great pizza and salads! The Joey Woolum is really good. Sounds like a weird combination but it works really well together. I think its weird to eat pizza without meat but this one I can do. The ranch dressing is good, its house made. My girlfriend gets the gluten free crust, she likes it better than other gluten free crusts she has tried.
