Food is great! Service was quick! Loved the Arabic song videos playing in the background! Great hang out will be coming back! We had the chicken shawarma, hummus, Labni, chicken Kebob plate. Loved the warm breads that come with the appetizers. The rice was absolutely divine! The meat in the shawarma was pretty good too. Wish the fries would have been hand cut instead of frozen though. Other than that everything else was great

*update* finally tried that lamb shank and its bomb! Yall need to get on that. It was tender, succulent, and flavorful. Cooked very well. And at the end of your meal even a simple cup of tea will just set everything off nicely. And I have to say, every time we come here it gets even more welcoming and pleasant. The owner is warm and generous and truly cares about the customer and the business. Everyone that works here is truly v nice and pleasant with great care and service. Oh and I noticed there’s a sign on their window that says they deliver! I mean, how can you go wrong?! Check them out!

This place is good I have had many different Mediterranean food was a new experience because I never had Mediterranean food on a platter so it was in you interesting case for me. They do offer many choices which is great I had tried their chicken tenders which was really amazing there chicken tender had a nice flavor to it usually when you go to other places chicken tenders are just plain but this place did great. I got the platter deal with had rice pita, bread I think hummus chicken and veggie mix. You mix it up and make your own little mini sandwich which I did and it tastes nice. When you get the platter you get to try out how you like your you get to mix your own food however you like.

Walking into this place, I didn’t have much expectations other than just to fill my belly with falafel and hummus. By the end of the dinner, my belly AND my heart was full. This place looked quite different since last time I visited(about a year ago), reduced in size of dining area, but definitely not reduced in taste or service. Although smaller in size, there are plenty of seatings available — in fact, when I was there, there was a table with a party of ~20 people and still I managed to grab a table for my friend and I. I grew up eating Mediterranean food in Jerusalem since as long as I could remember, so my taste buds were ecstatic as I was eating Ameer’s shawarma and falafel. Their hummus is fantastically authentic and has a trace of lamb flavor to it. Definitely one of a kind that I haven’t tasted in any other Mediterranean restaurants nearby. They are generous in portion, where my friend and I, who eat like elephants, barely finished 1 combo meal + 1 sandwich together. The combo meals, which are not included in the menu, are freshly displayed across the table by the cash register, so they’re kind of hard to resist. Plus, it just makes it easy for all of us who are indecisive and can’t settle with one item. The combo includes little bits of everything from rice, hummus, falafel, salad, shawarma and kabab of your choice of meat plus drink. Oh, can’t leave behind the yummy Labanese garlic sauce. The staffs are super friendly and easygoing. Beyond doubt, they genuinely care about customers’ experience here. I like this place — it’s my number one choice of Mediterranean restaurant.

A great place to get Mediterranean food about 15 minutes outside of midtown Atlanta! As an arabic man, I obviously love arabic food. After coming to Ameer’s I felt right at home with the smell of fresh baked bread and the friendliness of the staff. I ordered the vegetarian platter and was not disappointed. The falafel and baba ganoush were really good! I personally was not a fan of the hummus and«cabbage salad»(whatever that it) but besides that I enjoyed my meal. My friends ordered shawarma platters and those were good as well! My favorite thing about this restaurant was how friendly the staff were. They all spoke arabic and loved helping everyone choose what to order! If you want good arabic food for a fair price, come to Ameer’s!

Parking: There is a parking lot right outside the restaurant. Service: FAST! Food: Portions are large, really a bang for your buck! For example, the Beef & Lamb plate comes with plenty of meat, rice, hummus, a large pita, and a side of mixed vegetables. Probably one of the best Mediterranean restaurants in Atlanta! I also recommend Falafel King and Mediterranean Café. overall experience: A

#2 combination plate — they have samples of the combos to the left of the counter. I didn’t see them on the menu. Lamb/beef shawarma(plate, not a wrap) plus one chicken kabob, the usual sides and two pita pieces. As a whole, not bad. The lamb and beef was a little salty and tough, but still OK. The chicken was much better. I liked all the sides. Stuffed grape leaves(6) to go were very tasty. Friendly, fast-casual service. Order at the counter and take a seat. After telling her what I wanted, the cashier suggested one of the combo plates instead to save money. Ameer’s apparently rethought their expansion to the space next door. It’s back to just the single space with the adjacent space walled off and up for lease. Booth seats are past their prime. I had to change sides at my chosen booth because of a collapsed, very uncomfortable seat. The total experience is a little dated. Plenty of parking but getting into the parking lot if you’re traveling north on Briarcliff during a heavy noon rush can be challenging if people don’t let you through. It’s the same with Waikikie Hawaiian BBQ next door.

Great Mediterranean food that is authentic. Food is delicious and portions are large. My go to here is the lamb gyro. Typically this is served with fries but I always substitute it for the cucumber tomatoes salad that is delicious. This switch is free of charge and the serving size on this is massive. Staff here is always super friendly and the service is quick. It is a fast casual restaurant where you order and they bring it to you. Would highly recommend checking this place out.

A great place to get a large helping of decent Mediterranean food(kababs, shawarma, falafel) in northeast Atlanta. Ameer’s Mediterranean Grill is located next to Waikikie Hawaiian Barbecue near the corner of Briarcliff Road and LaVista Road. The street is jammed with traffic during rush hour, so it may be better to go later(after 7) if you want to visit on a weekday. Parking spaces are limited in front of the restaurant, so I’d recommend carpooling. Highlights: Very big plates of yummy Mediterranean food. If you don’t want that much food, you can grab a sandwich for less than $ 10. The sandwiches are medium to large sized and come with a medium sized portion of steak fries. I ordered a chicken shawarma platter, which included a helping of shredded chicken on a bed of rice, a spoonful of hummus, and a side of Mediterranean salad(cucumber, tomatoes, onions) on a leaf of lettuce. There’s also pita bread served on the side. The hummus is creamy and well balanced with respect to garlic and lemon flavor. The rice had a nice blend of seasoning. My chicken shawarma platter cost a little over $ 12 after tax. The other meat and seafood platters are similarly priced. If you want combinations(for example shawarma+ falafel, kabab + falafel), these specials are on display by the ordering counter and priced around around $ 15. Critiques: The chicken shawarma wasn’t bad, but I thought it could be juicier — maybe better served as larger chunks? Food here is very good, just not quite 5 star Mediterranean food in my opinion. Dining atmosphere is so-so — I’d recommend this restaurant more for takeout than dining in. Overall: I’d recommend Ameer’s for takeout if you’re hungry and want a large Mediterranean platter of good to very good quality.

FORGETEVERYTHINGYOUTHINKYOUKNOWABOUTMEDITERRANEANFOOD! If you are not getting your Mediterranean food here, then you have got it all wrong. My husband and I are driving around in the area when we pull over in order to check Unilocal for restaurant options. As I look up, I see Ameer’s Mediterranean Grill across the street. I check Unilocal and it seems like a good option. When you walk in, you will proceed to the counter to place your order. Your will be called once your food is ready. We couldn’t decide on any one item and wanted to try a variety of different foods so we chose the combination platters. My platter,(#1) came with a mix of proteins,(beef, chicken, lamb), rice, falafel(2), hummus and Lebanese salad while my husband’s platter(#3) came with the same sides but different proteins,(chicken and lamb kabob). We received a basket of warm pita bread to share. This was a lot of food and neither of us finished our plates. Yet, it is the best option for exploring the menu. The food was delivered hot, fresh and delicious. My husband and I discussed this as the first time that we had eaten Mediterranean food and not pushed selected items to the edge of our plates,(because we weren’t going to eat them). Absolutely everything on this plate was STELLAR! I could find no fault with any of the food. Everything was beautifully seasoned and just delicious. I have never tasted Mediterranean food quite like this and we were still raving about the meal hours later. Although I live in Alpharetta, I will have no problem making a special trip to Ameer’s because I know what to expect and I already know that it is well worth the drive. I would have given them more stars but I am limited to five, so there you have it!

Ameer’s Mediterranean Grill opened July 2012 across the street from the Briar Vista shopping center near the corner of Briarcliff and La Vista Roads, not far from Whole Foods Briarcliff. The restaurant serves very good Mediterranean and Middle Eastern food. In 2014, the restaurant expanded into the vacant strip mall space next door. It’s spacious. The business is named after the owner’s son. Ameer’s is a casual restaurant. Take-out is a popular option. However, dining in is a fine option too. The restaurant is clean and comfortable with plentiful booth and small table seating. The place is ideal for groups because tables can easily be combined together. The ordering style is fast casual where payment is done upfront and dishes are picked up at the counter. Sometimes, dishes are served directly to each table. Drinks, napkins, silverware, etc. are self-serve. I’ve found the food here to be surprisingly good. This is one of the better casual, all-around, Mediterranean restaurants in metro Atlanta. They serve the usual suspects including, but not limited to, hummus, baba ghanoush, stuffed grape leaves, falafel, salads(e.g. taboulleh, Lebanese, fattoush), kabobs(ground meat kofta, beef, chicken, lamb), fish, chicken schnitzel(breaded and fried), and shawarma meats fresh off the spits. Expect to spend about $ 6+ per appetizer or salad, $ 8 per sandwich(great for lunch), and $ 12+ per entrée. Portion sizes are generous. If you’re having trouble deciding what to order, try the Sampler($ 14). Items I tried on our sampler included many of the most commonly ordered apps: * Hummus — garbanzo beans cooked and mushed with tahini sauce, lemon, and spices * Baba ghanoush — fire-roasted eggplant, tahini, spices, and herbs * Labani — homemade cream cheese topped with olive oil and zaatar * Falafel– fried balls of ground chickpeas, spices, and herbs * Fatayer — homemade spinach pie with herbs, spices, and lemon In general, the spreads and dips are fresh and flavorful. I like them a lot. You can’t go wrong with the hummus, baba ghanoush, or labani. While most Middle Eastern restaurants I’ve been to in Atlanta serve their hummus with tahini sauce, not every place does it. At Ameer’s, the hummus and baba ghanoush have just the right amount of zest and garlicky taste. The spreads/dips are served with pita bread of course. The bread is OK. The labani is excellent. If you’ve never had it before and you like cheese(or cream cheese), I definitely recommend giving it a try. Labani is a smooth, soft, creamy, white cheese spread topped with zaatar, which consists of dried herbs, sesame seeds, sumac, salt, and spices. It’s a bit rich yet extremely satisfying and addicting. The falafel is excellent. The falafel balls are cooked to order. The exteriors have virtually flawless crispiness and the chickpea-insides have appetizing flavor and appealing texture/consistency. The falafel balls are served hot out the kitchen. They taste great with or without the accompanying tzatziki yogurt sauce. I don’t recommend the fatayer nor shawarma unless you get them earlier in the day when they’re fresher. Fatayer typically comes with meat, but the version at Ameer’s contains spinach as the main ingredient(known as sabanekh). It’s a bready pastry similar to the Indian samosa. It’s not a bad snack and transports and reheats well. Ameer’s has three kinds of shawarmas: chicken, beef, and lamb. The chicken is on its own rotating spit and the beef and lamb are combined, in alternating fashion, on another rotating spit. I’m a big fan of shawarma, whether the meat is served on its own as part of an entrée or in sandwich/wrap form, a common street food overseas. The shawarma entrée comes with yellow Arab rice, hummus, and a Levantine salad consisting of lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, bell pepper, and spices. It’s a lot of food and you may wind up taking leftovers home. I suggest the beef and lamb shawarma, though the chicken is good too. The meats, cut into small bite-size chunks, are nicely marinated, aromatic, and poignant. The meats taste better earlier in the day when they haven’t been sitting out as long. Towards the end of the day, they can get tough and dried out. The yellow rice is soft and delicious and the Levantine salad is crisp and tangy. If you can make room, try the desserts. They have some interesting ones. To name a few: kanafi, which is a cheese pastry soaked in syrup; mahalabiya, which is Egyptian-style milk custard; and namoura, which is Lebanese semolina cake. They’ve also got baklava, which is very sweet. Service is good. Since most foods are made to order, it can take up to 10 – 15 minutes for the kitchen to turn things around, especially during peak periods.

Ameer’s Mediterranean Grill Overall 5⁄5 Food 5⁄5 Price 5⁄5 Service 5⁄5 Atmosphere 3.5÷5 Nutshell: Casual place. Favorite greek food place around Emory. Here you will spend about $ 12 – 13 and be extremely stuffed(enough for 2 portions for some people) with flavorful traditional greek food. If this place was closer to Emory, for around $ 3 more, I would most likely not go to Mediterranean Grill or Falafel King and only come here. TIP: Check in on Unilocal as they have a free offer on an appetizer if you do. Seriously, come here and give it a try either lunch or dinner. Food 5⁄5: I have had a lot of beef and lamb shawarama and I have to say this place makes it the best as it was perfectly seasoned and not dry(which is very common for some reason). The rice was fluffy. The falafel was also well season, perfect crutch to soft texture and not dry at all(which is also a common occurrence). The bread was warm and fluffy. The hummus was extremely light, fresh and perfectly balanced with the proper amount of olive oil. The greek salad was fresh, not watery, and had good crunch textures paired with perfect acidity levels. The 2 biter baklava was not too sweet, gentle nut notes and the philo dough was very fine as it showed through the delicate crunch textures. Price 5⁄5: For $ 12 – 13 you get huge portions that could easily be split into 2 meals. Not only are the portions fairly large, but the flavoring and cooking execution was done perfectly. Its rare to see high quality and high quantity paired with low prices. Service 5⁄5: The staff was extremely friendly and professional. The manager knowing it was my first time here, generously gave me some free samples of a falafel and baklava. I cant say may places would do something like that. The food came out in about 7ish mins too! Atmosphere 3.5÷5: Unconvienietely located in an area hard to turn into with a small parking lot. I know this place is casual, but it could really really use some basic décor as it just feels very dull in there. Overall: As stated, its my favorite greek food restaurant near Emory. Will come back and bring friends. Highly recommended. Cant wait to return. Cheers!

We came here with a Groupon deal. We placed our order in first before seating. We got: Falafel Labani: Homemade Cream of Cheese topped with olive oil and zaatar Chicken Shawarma: Marinated chicken stacked and roasted to a perfect flavor Beef & Lamb Shawarma: Thinly sliced tender beef and lamb, marinated and stacked. Tea Everything tasted pretty good, except that the beef and lamb meats were a bit overcooked so they were a bit dry. They gave us 4 – 5 half pitas which was a good amount. All the portions were fair and we had enough for leftovers.

So I’m on my way home and I looked up the closest Mediterranean place because I was super hungry. I walked in to the restaurant and it had the fast feel vibe, but it’s not. You walk up the counter order your meal and seat your self I ordered the #4 platter which is a chicken Shawrma and chicken kebab mix with rice, hummus, tabouli, pita bread, and a falafel. Seriously I don’t know if I was just really hungry or it was just that good. I ate everything. The rice tho I would have to say had too much of a cinnamon spice flavor to it that I wasn’t very used too. My bf, got a steak kebab platter and we both didn’t like it too much, he was eating off of my plate the whole time. The pita bread is light and fluffy, the falafel had lots of flavor, nice and soft in the inside, crispy on the out. I definitely suggest trying this place out and I will be back very soon!

The décor is of a shopping center eatery(one wall was unpainted. A salt, pepper, and ketchup bottle at each table) and is fine. There were two tables uncleaned when I walked in and the«waitress» talked on her phone a bit before doing anything, and slowly cleaned up, but trash sat there for a good 10 min. I got the lamb kabob entrée. All came out nice and hot. My bread was a little too crispy, like a dark brown toast crispy, did not like it. The basmati rice was some of the best I’ve had. Red flag is they didn’t ask what temperature to cook my lamb, it came out way too well done, but was still good. It did not have a gamey taste which I prefer, but I know some people don’t like it. The vegetables and hummus were great, and idk if their white sauce was supposed to be tzatziki, but it was disgusting and watery. Will give another try but on an item that doesn’t cost $ 20. –NAM
