AWFULEXPERIENCE! I’m speechless. I went there asking for ombré, brought in pictures of what I wanted, and instead I left the salon with chunky, blonde highlights. I went back to have Mary fix her mess and left crying(see photos below). She was rude and wouldn’t reimburse me. I spent $ 150 and had to go to another salon and pay $ 200. In my 26 years of life, I’ve never had someone mess up my hair this much.

BEWARE!!! I had a blowout at touch of beauty in a pinch because every other salon in Astoria was booked for the evening. Of course this place had the whole night free, which should have been my first red flag. The stylist that did my hair was very nice, and that is the only good thing I have to say about this place. #1: her blow dryer was broken, she didn’t ask any of the other stylists to borrow theirs even though I told her I realized it was broken. It took OVER2−½ hours FOR A BLOWOUT! No treatment no cut just normal 30−45min blow dry. I had a 6:30 appt I walked out at 9. She obviously didnt have expirience, as I could have done what she did in 20 minutes at home for free. Then after the blowout is over she takes a flat iron to fix a few kinks. When I go to pay the women at the counter tells me it is an additional cost for the flat iron! The flat iron that my stylist only had to use because she had no clue what she was doing. And she did not inform me of the up charge JUST to fix her mistakes. I was just in such SHOCK that the people that ran this place were not embarrassed that I was in their salon for nearly 3 hrs getting a 30 min service, but on top of that to charge me extra. I have learned from this expirience that whenever the stylist I get clearly doesn’t know what she’s doing, I’m not going to spend $ 60 to spare her feelings. I’m just gonna walk out…

Dear Touch of Beauty, You now deserve 1 star. Unfortunately, half a star isn’t an option and that may be fortunate for you. Why am I so angry? First of all, all the hair dressers are gone. When I asked where my hair dresser went, they were rude about it and didn’t give me a direction. I understand you want to keep clients, hence why you would not point me in the direction I asked for but did you stop and think for a minute if I want to stay in a hair salon that makes my eyes bleed with all the colors as well as a lack of atmosphere? Of course not. The advice I can give you is update the hair salon and hire hair stylists that know what they are doing and have a pleasant personality. Congratulations, the people that gave your hair salon personality are no longer there. Sincerely, Angry ex client.
