A few of us decided to stop by and redeem our beer coupons from the Queens Beer Book. The first of us that arrived found the place closed on around 8pm on a Friday night. Definitely didn’t expect that! I guess we’ll call ahead next time to make sure they’re open before we head over.

My wife has never enjoyed beer, and routinely leaves full beers untouched. Last night she ordered 2 beers! I told the bartender she didn’t like beer and he changed her mind with a delicious light beer. I enjoyed a full bodied dark beer and if I wasn’t driving I’d’ve had a couple more. I haven’t even mentioned the open mic! Wednesday nights there is an onslaught of highly skilled musicians that use the space to rehearse, première, and just share. Great vibe, great people, 5 stars! Steven you are a great bartender!

Tiny little friendly place that you would totally miss if you weren’t heading there. They have an amazing microbrew selection with great bottles and interesting drafts. Where they really stand out is their staff, they know everything about all things beer. I wondered if a home brewing place would succeed in Astoria because who has room to home brew? Then I realized, a lot of people dont live in a cube like me, and actually do have room! Viva la home brew, maybe in my next apt :)

Astoria Beer and Brew is fantastic. A bunch of friends and I were staying with some friends nearby, and despite its small size, Astoria Beer and Brew was a great place for us to go hang out and have a few drinks. All of the owners and bartenders we met were super friendly, and were extremely welcoming and accommodating. Plus the beers were good. The friend we were staying with hosts trivia here every other Tuesday, which was lots of fun. Overall, it seems like a really wonderful neighborhood spot that I could see spending a lot of time at if I lived nearby.

the beer selection is great, and the bartenders are sweet as pie. surprisingly, the paninis are good — i mean really good — not just«good» as in «i’m hungry and drunk and anything would taste good right now.»

In love with Astoria Beer and Brew. Came here on a Friday night to watch J.D. Patch and the Rowdy Few perform a set, and it was just the most intimate space. I couldn’t believe we have a bar like this in the neighborhood, with such carefully selected beers on draught, really tasty wines, and such a great intimate setting. I’ll definitely be back.

Great neighborhood spot! Really chill atmosphere and great beer at good prices. Bartender Rodrigo is super nice and he had a great music mix when I was there.

I loved the vibe of this bar and the staff. The waiter, Sylvio, was so helpful and friendly. I love every one of his suggestions. My best friend and I were looking for a place to relax and do a little catching up and this was certainly the place. On top of everything, they had a really talented artist by the name of Justin Howard playing his music live. He was pretty amazing too. I had a great Friday night here and I will certainly be coming back!

This is the place to go for beer! they know their stuff, A very small place with seating for about 8 at the bar and maybe another eight to ten around a table knock in the corner, not to mention they have just about everything for all your home brewing needs,

Looking for homebrew supplies in Astoria couldn’t be easier! Plus, the bartender was so incredibly helpful with figuring out exactly what we needed for our recipe. I haven’t been here just to just drink but it did look like they have tasty brews on draft so I will be back.

Great bar! The food is really incredible — not what you’d expect from a bar. Amazing chorizo. Friendly bartenders, calm scene, great beer selection. Highly recommended.

It’s a nice little bar with seating for a max of around 15. I bet it’s a good chill spot at night to enjoy some great beers. I appreciate the fact that they have homebrew supplies and equipment. They don’t have every item that you need, but they were able to fulfill most of what I needed and I really appreciate having the option in Queens not too far from home. There’s also a discount program for the homebew supplies. For every 50 bucks you spend they give you 5% off for your next purchase(with the same card). Their prices were in line with what I expected for homebrew supplies so I’ll definitely come here versus hauling over to Brooklyn /Long Island or going online.

Everything you look for in a bar — good booze, good music, good conversation and a comfortable environment. It’s great to have something like this in the area where you can explore new flavors(they also have some tasty wine) and chat it up with like minded people. Its unlike your normal bar where you are either distracted by TVs, have to wait on inattentive waitresses or feel like you are regulated to just your table/space — what I mean to say is this has a community feel that lends itself to an enjoyable afternoon or evening of drinking!

Been there for an opening party. Loved it. What a great idea — a bar where you can drink beer and then buy ingredients to make your own. They are friendly with Brewstoria so that’s a bit more credibility right there. I think they’ll do well.

Hallelujah! No more driving down to Brooklyn for homebrew supplies! The owners of Astoria Beer and Brew are fantastic and very friendly. A friend and I dropped by when they opened and chatted a while about beer and recipes. I decided to make my own recipe based off one from«Brewing Classic Styles». They had a copy in the store to draw from. This shop is stocked, but doesn’t have every little grain or yeast available in the world so don’t expect to have your ultra rare recipe filled that day. They can order specialty grains or pretty much anything for you to pick up later. Just email them! They also have a good amount of brewing equipment for sale as well. If you’re looking to get into brewing they have a beginners kit and if you’re looking to add on, they have some good stock. Like I said about the ingredients, they don’t have a ton of equipment available, but I’m sure they could order things for you easily. I saw some kegging supplies, but overall a little limited. They have a few taps at the bar and a nice sitting area inside. The whole place is coming together nicely, including the bathroom. It does have some great touches, and I know Astoria Beer and Brew is going to be a great neighborhood resource for homebrewers and beer lovers alike. Congrats on the shop guys! I can’t wait to come back!

This review is solely based on first impression. Astoria Beer & Brew just opened a week ago. It isn’t really 100% finished with transforming the space into its final form. Though the space is quaint, the ambiance will be great for cozy evenings tasting beers with friends. Astoria Beer & Brew is not only a bar but also a shop for home brewers like myself. They sell grains, hops, yeasts and everything you need to make your very own beer at home. Prices are consistent with other places I’ve checked out.
