I could spend hours in this place! Actually, I think I did. :) They have a very eclectic collection of books, dishes, furniture, toys, etc, and, a highlight for me, historic postcards, many 100+ years old. Worth a browse!

A must-see in Ashland! Judi is a sweet, passionate lady with a brimful knowledge of history and a sensational way of telling it. Shakespeare Books & Antiques has unique copies, banned books, Shakespeare editions, and much more intriguing literature. If she doesn’t have what you’re looking for, she can probably find a way to get it! This is one of the few places still open when the power goes out, and Judi will tell you why! Even if you don’t need a specific book, stop by and say hi. You’ll be amazed at her collection and her personality.

Here is a passionate bookseller who really cares about the quality of what she offers. I asked a question and she immediately jumped online to get me more information. Various publishers of the individual plays and sonnets — from tiny versions to very handsomely bound books — all vintage. Glorious! I’ll be contacting her to find some volumes for my library. There may well have been other merchandise in this shop but I was fixated on my new find!

Great little selection of hand curated collectibles and books. The banned books section is my favorite. Judi is so kind and friendly, worth stopping in just to say hi and get a mint.

Each year I visit Ashland, I discover something new that I probably walked past previously. Actually, I was on my way to Apple Cellar Bakery, and Shakespeare(Books) beaconed me hither. Perhaps Shag might have hung out here in his day. There’s lots of aquarian-looking books throughout, a neat set of antiques towards the back, and friendly folks minding the store. However, it’s best to finish the pastry and coffee before entering. And you’ll be here for awhile.
