A-Dome Studio

Just stayed at A-​Dome for two nights with my sister and senior parents. Great access to Ashland (15 min) and lakes/​river (20 min east). Killer breakfasts — on our visit we had a homemade pear tart, creative egg dishes (similar to huevos rancheros), fresh fruit and blueberry muffins, yum! Upstairs/​downstairs A-​frame rooms are a great alternative to two hotel rooms in town. Beautiful tapestries and stained glass work by the hosts. A-​Dome works equally well for Ashland Shakespeare festival — or jump-​off to fishing and cycling.

What a delightful slice of serendipity this place is!
We had booked lodging at another location, and were disappointed upon arrival. I called around and found A-​Dome had space AND accepts children! With pleasure! The proprietors, the Schoonovers, are delightful. Very kind, pleasant folks, with many talents.
Not the least of which is breakfast! We had a delicious gourmet breakfast in the morning, a lovely follow-​on to the complimentary bottle of Reisling we enjoyed after checking in the previous night.
Popovers from scratch, poached eggs with fresh arugula and ham, toast, and «crunchy bananas» garnished with pansies and greek yogurt. Yum! We were full until dinner!
Barbara was endlessly patient with my spirited 3 year old and curious 14 month old, as well.
What a wonderful place. We plan on staying again as soon as we get the chance!
