A wonderful farm stay! We brought our own tent, but loved having access to the outdoor kitchen and outdoor showers(best view from a shower ever!). The morning tour of the farm by Suzanne was detailed and gave real insight into how the farm works. Loved having access to the garden for some fresh greens to make a salad, and we also made a nice goat-stew from meat grown on the farm!

This place may have ruined us for other camp grounds. We brought our own tent and camped, but the fully furnished camp kitchen(even had seasonings, oil and tea!), outdoor showers and immaculate camp bathhouse completely changed the experience from camping to glamping. We sat around the kitchen’s cast iron wood stove every night and had easily prepared warm breakfasts every morning while gazing out at the amazing view – all of this done at a leisurely pace because our kids ran down the trail to the farmhouse every morning to help with the animals. We met another lovely family with children during our stay and the kids had an incredible time running around together. The ranch seems to be a magnet for nice people. Everyone we met, from owners to farmhands to guests, was a pleasure to talk to. Nice people, incredible amenities, beautiful surroundings and baby animals makes for the best vacation ever! Also of note: the campgrounds are in a wooded area which adds a little privacy for your tent, the farm dogs, Izzie and Aldo love children and will visit the campgrounds to check on them, the farm food is delicious(had the Bangers, fresh picked spinach, eggs and goat milk and loved all of it – the kids now think goat milk is the best thing ever), and the ranch manages to be conveniently close to Ashland while still feeling like it is in its own little world. We will definitely be back! Next time we might try the canvas walled tents!

I recently had the good fortune to have a 2 night stay in a Rustic Furnished Wall Tent and it was wonderful! Only a 15 minute drive from Ashland we checked in and then headed back to town for dinner and a Shakespeare play. Had no trouble finding our tent upon our late night return thanks to lovely solar light jars and the bed linens were like sleeping in clouds. The farm tour was enlightening, all the farm staff were very warm and welcoming and as a bonus, a couple of the farm dogs adopted us during our stay. We took a gentle 3 mile hike around the property which abounded with wildflowers in many colors. We purchased sausages and greens from the farm store and prepared a delicious dinner in the outdoor kitchen with hot and cold running water, real dishes and silverware, and table linens. I will definitely be back.

The best vacation ever! My husband and I went with our kids and the only words to describe the week we spent there was MAGICAL… it was one of the most relaxing vacations ever. I cant recommend it enough. The kids were off in the fields and playing with the animals the entire time and my husband and I enjoyed the peace and quiet. I went for hikes and runs every day. There are so many beautiful hikes near by and the the property is spectacular. The owners were so kind and helpful. I will be back next year! It was INCREDIBLE.

Today we visited this beautiful working organic farm. We were just here for a short tour … And instead were treated to a delicious dive into local history, even pre-history, and we were graciously guided by John, one of the able and generous farmhands. Oh, and also Enzo and Aldo and Izzie, sweet dogs who enchanted our children. John explained the details of raising pigs and goats and chickens organically. He showed how the pigs actually moved out through the forest and would deliver piglets in about three weeks. The chickens have a moving coop just like we’d read about in omnivore’s dilemma. Noting our curiosity, john took us on a hike to the original homestead house and explained that this was a dairy cow farm at that time. And before that, long before that, it was a mountain lake providing rich hunting grounds as evidenced by the many stone arrowheads found there. Eventually we circled back to the farm just as Suzanne, one of the owners, arrived to top off our tour with an entrancing discussion of riparian ecology and also of the solar panels that provide power to the farm. Utterly charming. We then bought out the store of truly local pork shoulder, goat sausages and eggs laid this morning. Totally awesome. We shall be back!

This place is magic. I grew up on a small farm, but over the last few decades have become a city girl through and through. Our visit to Willow-Witt combined the best of both worlds, reminding me of the amazing joys of farm living, minus the hard work :) We stayed in the gorgeous Farmhouse Studio – compact but perfect. It has everything you need plus wonderful little extras everywhere. We loved being in the heart of the farm, watching the goats grazing in the fields through the big windows. Spending time with the animals was fantastic. They are clearly content and happy in their lives at Willow-Witt, and we loved gathering eggs, feeding the pigs(I didn’t expect to enjoy my time with the pigs so much!), and of course spending lots of time playing with the sweet and friendly goats. The dogs are great too! The owners and farm helpers were all terrific, helping the girls accomplish age-appropriate chores, and patiently answering all our questions. We had meat, eggs and produce from the farm while we were there, and it was all delicious. We made the short drive into Ashland twice, and thoroughly enjoyed the shops, restaurants, and parks we explored. We did a lovely hike at the farm, too. I would return here in a heartbeat. It was relaxing yet energizing at the same time. This place is a sanctuary. I’m thankful for my time here, and hope to return soon!

As a pretty adventurous single mom, I was itching to take my three sons on a farm adventure over Spring break. I wanted them to unplug, get out of the Bay Area, CA suburbs and get dirty, run off their boundless energy, play with animals and see what it’s like to live and work on a farm! Willow Witt Ranch was the perfect anecdote! It was the most magical vacation! We went in early April this year. There were actually snow flurries on and off throughout our stay there, which enhanced the magic. Fortunately I packed everyone’s rugged snow boots and lots of extra socks as was recommended since there was lots of playing on the muddy ground. We stayed in the studio, which is so cozy and charming. Suzanne had just started the first fire in our little stove so the studio was warm and so inviting after our long drive from Northern California. Our few days at Willow Witt were spent playing with all the young puppies, petting the big goats, watching the mama goats get milked; helping Suzanne wean the baby goats off their moms and onto bottles while playing in the barn for hours; learning how to collect the chicken eggs from the coup and feeding all the hundreds of chickens; and watching the baby piglets who had just been born during our stay! We all learned how to start a fire in the stove to keep our studio cabin warm at all times. I was so impressed how this brought out such an adventurous side in my boys. They got sooo dirty; and all had their favorite farm animals who they knew by name; and even enjoyed drinking the freshest raw goats milk that was left in our fridge along with freshly collected eggs. We brought in all our other food to cook our meals in our tiny kitchen, and when we got too cold from the snow and rain, we would play board games and read, and enjoy the landscape scenes from all the many windows in the bright studio. When we returned home, everyone else had just returned from their spring breaks at Disneyland and Hawaii, but I wouldn’t trade our stay at Willow Ranch for anything. I would love to come back some day in the late Spring or summer!
