we had a negative experience with this hotel due to its alleged pet friendly policy. We have a small dog who barks occasionally and for only a few minutes if left to her own devices. We had gone out to watch one of the women’s World Cup games, happy as a couple of clams, when we get a call from the hotel management that they had gotten a complaint about our dog barking and we needed to come back and pick her up immediately. When we got back to the hotel there was no barking to be heard, as she always stops a few minutes after we leave. But no matter, we weren’t able to leave her in the room after that point. My feeling is that if a hotel advertises itself as pet friendly it should actually be friendly and accommodating towards pets and their owners. Otherwise it would be better off to not allow pets in the first place if the management responds like this.

The room was clean and smoke-free. Beds were comfortable and breakfast was typical continental. They made sure we had no feather pillows, which was nice. Unfortunately, there seemed to be a faulty air conditioner or something from a room nearby that made an awful high pitched noise off and on. Our room overlooked a parking lot, which had a large light that shined in our room. That wouldn’t be a big deal, but there were no curtains to close! The air conditioning unit was right under the window, and you couldn’t close the curtains or be covering the unit. That was frustrating as we had a baby who’s used to a dark sleeping space.(And so are we!) Overall, I’d say the stay was mediocre. We’ll be looking elsewhere next time we’re in Asheville.

Your basic hotel. Easy short walk to Cracker Barrel. Decent continental breakfast. Clean, comfortable. Would stay again.
