I rarely give a one star review, however this was worthy of it. We showed up on a Sunday evening around 6 o’clock just to grab a margarita at the bar. There was no hostess at the stand and several people were waiting to be seated. Not our problem because we were going to the bar, that was just an observation. We sat at the bar, there was no bartender present. We noticed there were several employees sitting at a table in the bar area socializing and eating. They were looking over at us and laughing. We waited about another 5 or 10 minutes. Still no bartender ever showed up. We decided to get up and leave. At that point I overheard one of the employees that was sitting at the table say, oh look, they’re leaving. As we were walking out the hostess has returned to the stand. She said thank you have a nice day. We said nothing to her.

I was not very happy paying as much to eat even subpar Mexican American cuisine. I would rather have payed half of the money and ate fast food, this was no «Bueno». The sweet, not sweet or good, tea arrived with our queso which was fine. The salsa was salsa. Hence the first star given. Then the meal came. Tortilla not cooked, meat tough and over cooked and salted to be inedible. Onion added from husbands fajitas due to no grilled onions. Only good thing was the avocado. Didn’t eat anymore than this bite. The only thing that’s good here was the waiter. He was very nice. Kenneth was knowledgeable and quick. He was the reason for the second star.

Had a terrible experience at this place. We had a large party and they told us the wait was going to be 45 minutes and we waited for an hour and a half. After the wait, they were rude and acted as if we were a burden. Very unprofessional and not customer service centric. Never coming back and neither are 15 of my friends.

It’s been almost an hour. We got drinks a little late, had to ask for silverware, and we are still staring at chips and salsa … Yes, we are a party of 10, but service was never this slow at the Mansfield location . I ordered a frozen mango strawberry margarita and it came watered down, sugar unevenly on the rim, and there is no mango to the margarita at all! It looks like the drink was made and forgotten and then brought to me much later … Food is consistent, but service and the wait needs work! I wouldn’t go to this location again.

We were so happy to see Michelle, from management, stop by our booth a couple of weeks ago. We knew her from the I20 location in Arlington, but recently she transferred to the Mansfield restaurant. When food comes out of her kitchen, you know it’s done right. But we were fortunate to catch her subbing in at our favorite location. Thanks Michelle!

So the food is always great definitely nothing wrong in that area. Me & the bf came for dinner, sat next to a party of at least 15. Whole time they were loud & severely obnoxious yelling obscenities the whole time, not to mention saying the«N» word like a million times. You would think people would have more class & be courteous of their surroundings obviously not. Keeping it classy Arlington keeping it classy. Waiter was pretty chill. Bad timing

We went for fajitas to kick off our spring break stay-cation. We left seriously disappointed. Our waiter was young, inexperienced and apathetic. Our queso made it to the table cool and slightly congealed. Thought about asking the waiter to warm it but let it slide. Next our fajitas came out sizzling, which excited me, only to realize our waiter didn’t bring my «flag»(sour cream, guacamole, Pico) as well as cheese, beans or a plate. I waited over five minutes for him to come back with the food and by that time my sizzle had fizzled. Needless to say I will NEVER eat at On The Border again. I’d rather spend my money on Papasitos or even El Phoenix.

This is a nice location. The wait staff and management are super nice and more than willing to try and make your experience pleasurable. When my friends drink did not meet her liking the waitress was persistent in finding out what could be done to make it right. When my other friends order was not right, the manager quickly tried to rectify the issue and made several checks to ensure our satisfaction. I always appreciate good customer service.

I used to love this OTB. Lately, the food and service are just steadily going downhill. We went there last night for dinner. The only reason we got drinks very fast was because the manager happened to walk by. Chips and salsa took close to 10 minutes and the chips were stale. I ordered brisket quesadillas and they barely cooked the giant chunks of onion that they put into them. Bitter onion taste is not what I was looking forward to. I’ll go across the highway to El Fenix next time.

For some reason that I don’t quite understand, On the Border used to be one of my favorite restaurants. My most recent visit has me questioning my childhood. Just kidding. But the food does leave a bit to be desired and is pretty standard as far as chain Tex Mex restaurants go. Their margaritas are probably their saving grace but those aren’t very authentic either. If you like Tex Mex food from a restaurant chain, then go for OTB. But as a fan of authentic Mexican food, I’ll pass on OTB in the future. Plus the bathrooms here are not very clean.

Food was not very hot, never given anymore hot sauce or chips. Ice melted in tea and refills had no ice. Rice taste like box rice. For the price bad value.

Chips and salsa: DELISH. Drinks=amazing. A nice Mexican restaurant with real flavor. Everything I’ve tried here so far has been great. This is my favorite Mexican chain restaurant because they keep the authenticity while providing fast quality food. The server was on top of everything, even on a busy weekend night.

Good location to grab some Tex Mex. My bf and I pretty frequently come to enjoy a margarita or have dinner out about the town. Customer service is decent. This particular location is always packed. Conveniently located by the Parks mall and the Arlington Highlands so you can get your shopping on after and walk off all that food. Recommend a swirl margarita and the Sampler appetizer to get things started.

The Tomatillo enchiladas with the grilled veggies is out of this world. Wow! I can’t wait to come back here and order these again. I’m not much for their salsa, but that’s ok the enchiladas made up for it. I encourage everyone reading this to order this plate of total awesomeness.

I love Mexican food. On The Border is one of my favorite Mexican food chain places. I try a little bit of everything whenever I go. I’ve never eaten at this location but I’ve ordered to go several of times and I never have any issues. On The Border does brunch now! I gotta try it.

As far as chain Mexican places this is one of the best. The food is always fresh and tasty. Great salsa and homemade chips are great. The servers are great as well. Today we’re trying the brunch. The menu offerings are limited but seem well selected. More to come on that.

My wife and I had been haring about the OTB Brunch lately and decided today was the day to stop in. We arrived right when they opened, at 10:00!M, on a beautiful Sunday morning. They have a very nice brunch menu offering some OTB specialties as well as traditional American breakfasts. My wife ordered the breakfast tacos with bacon, egg and cheese. You also get to choose your a side of refried beans, fresh fruit or friend potatoes. She decided on the fresh fruit. There wasn’t a morsel left on her plate so it much have been good. I decided the order the breakfast chile rellano. It was stuffed with scrambled eggs, cheese and bacon, served with flour tortillas and a side. YUM. It came un-breaded and was filling, especially for brunch. The chips and salsa were good as well. We had a very relaxing brunch dining experience.
