Dan the mechanic there is spectacular, knowledgeable, and accessible. He took my bike on the fly minutes before a big ride, discovered the rear dérailleur was shot but did not have the exact one I needed, grabbed a spare and put it on… what?! Yep, then he ordered a new one and then put the new one on when it came in this time with an appointment convenient to me, & I never skipped a beat, & I never missed a ride! Thank you Dan. You know sometimes the mechanic at a bike shop is your main contact, because although they have wonderful new bikes there, I can’t afford to buy a new bike every time I visit the store. I ride with Carolina Brewing Company and Lifetime Fitness, and have couple of high end Cannondales. One is custom painted by Jack Kane. It is not every day I get a new mechanic, but I found him, and you should too. Also, while you are there you should check out the awesome bikes because man these new ones are BEAUTIFUL! I’ll be back.

I bought my first mountain bike in 20 years here at the Bicycle Chain. The technology has changed since 1994! The Bicycle Chain answered all my questions and prepared me to make an informed decision. I am pleased with my purchase! I have been back to buy my daughter her first mountain bike and I am about to buy my son his first a mountain bike. With the bicycle trade in program, I will continue to save as they grow into larger sizes. You cannot beat that!

This store is just the best! The employees are knowledgeable and super helpful. They don’t make you feel dumb, they just help you figure out the correct bike. I’ve bought bikes for myself and my kids here. I highly recommend this store!

I just wrapped up a deal on a Specialized Roubaix from Bicycle Chain Apex. This was my 4^th new bike purchase over the last 8 or so years (3^rd Specialized), and this has by far been the best experience yet.
I was able to get the bike for several hundred less than other shops in the area (this was an old stock 13 so not sure how they deal on the current model year). Getting the deal was absolutely painless and there was no hardsell or upsell at all. Just came in, road it and bought it. Speaking of riding, another great benefit about this location is there is a pretty decent test ride route right across the street.
I dealt with John, the manager of this location, and he was so easy to work with. He took the time to make sure everything was right and spent a good deal of time helping get the proper fit on my new bike. I could tell the difference in the fit and feel of the bike immediately. I also had some swap over services done the next day and they had everything done and ready very quickly and correctly, so I will have no problems using them for service in the future, especially since you get free basic $ 30 tune ups at any location, and $ 30 off any higher maintenance package when you purchase a bike there. As an added bonus, their mechanics are very friendly and not a bunch of grouches like other places I have been to.
I would highly recommend The Bicycle Chain and will definitely be back there myself. I have also been to the Glenwood location and the staff there is very helpful. I went to CH and was not helped, but they did seem very busy that day.

I decided to buy my first bike in 15 years and came here after trying out a national chain sporting goods store.
At the prior store, the staff ignored my request to test out a road bike to feel the difference from the hybrid. Here, though, the guy who greeted me was happy to explain what difference variations made. When he was showing me a bike out of my price range, I mentioned that I wouldn’t consider that bike. His response was that trying it out would just help me understand the differences, and was not about being obligated to buy.
The people here were helpful and friendly in their own right, and when compared to the major chains they had a larger selection of bikes in my price range AND their staff was phenomenal. Knowledgeable, supportive, friendly, and I walked out spending right around the middle of my targeted budget range.
For my first time buying a bike I couldn’t have asked for a better place!

Great store! Very knowledgeable, appreciate advocating for issues specific to women’s cycling. Traveling from out of town appreciated help fitting a rental bike from the Raleigh store.

Walked in their twice for a part to fix my bike, The place was empty with customers and nobody cared to help us.
I guess if your not buying a bike then your nobody.
Will never go there again.

I bought a road bike here. I was so happy with the experience that I went back to get one for my daughter and sent my brother-​in-​law for one as well. They have a great selection, knowledgeable people (that don’t pressure you for more sales) and reasonable prices. And when you buy a bike from them, they give you lots of follow up service in the form of free adjustments and discounts on tune ups. I wouldn’t shop anywhere else.

I recently purchased a mountain bike from this store. I visited the Glenwood Location first and test rode several bikes. When I decided which one I wanted and what color, The Apex store had it in stock so I made the trip up there. John, the manager, was extremely helpful and I would absolutely recommend speaking to him if you are considering purchasing any type of bike. Not only does he have a vast knowledge in bikes, but was friendly, gave me the best price possible, and spent as much time with me as I needed to assist me in understanding how the bike works, and how to navigate the trails in my area, including which ones are better for beginners, intermediates, and advanced riders. I visited several bicycle stores before purchasing my bike from the Bicycle Chain in Apex and HIGHLY recommend them!
