I have know this person for years, and he was recommended by several of our friends after I was frantically searching for a DJ to do my wedding. I thought he was trustworthy. I guess I was wrong. I paid him $ 150 for a deposit and $ 250 for a first payment. We had decided on a final payment of $ 250 on the 1st of September(my wedding is in October). I have never had to book a DJ before so I figured that paying before hand was normal. Guess I was WRONG! He called twice a week with some sob story, it varied every time. Once was that his phone was broken and that I needed to call his wife’s(I’m thinking he’s changed his number to hide from people), then it was, I’ve been in court, I might be going to jail for back child support and that he needed the final payment to stay out of jail. I kept telling him he’d get his money in September and we’d do our«final consult». I cancelled his services over text(Which I have since printed out) on the 31st of August. He still refuses to acknowledge that he’s been fired and I’ve gone with someone else. I haven’t asked for my $ 250 back, because I know I won’t ever see it again. Since I terminated him at the 45 day mark, I should be in the clear. He keeps leaving me messages(which I have saved) stating that I owe for the full contract(even though my signed contract says that if cancelled 45 days or before all but deposit is refunded). I have yet to answer him. The next step is a certified letter. Don’t go with him at ALL! He’s always got some gimmick. I’m pretty sure that even if I had trusted him and given him the benefit of the doubt that he wouldn’t have showed up. Guess I’m not the only one he’s done this too.

ITWONTLETMEPUTZEROSTARS FAILEDTOFOLLOWTHROUGHWITHHISCONTRACT. UNPROFESSIONALANDUNTRUSTWORTHY. Refused to follow his contract. After placing the 100 dollar deposit, he then asked if we would pay in full 3 or 4 months in advance, so he could have annual maintenance done on his equipment. We were reluctant, because it is not normal to pay in full for DJ services, until the services are received. But he asked if we could help him out, and since I have mutual friends with Justin, I thought I could trust him, I was wrong. My fiancé and I had to postpone our wedding, he then became unavailable, not answering phone calls. We asked to be refunded the 350, allowing him to keep the 100 dollar deposit, as the contract stated, he refused. We sent, via fedex, written documentation, well before the 44days in advance that was specified on the contract, for a refund. He did not respond. We attempted to call, text, and email Justin many times, and left messages, we weren’t able to get ahold of him for 2 weeks. He finally answered the phone presumably by accident, and stated he was busy and would have to call us back, he never did. After a week I got ahold of him again, and he told me how horrible his life was, and that he wasn’t doing well, and that he was robbed, and he asked if he could call us back again. He never called me back. He did this one more time, and over a week later, he still hasn’t called. After 2 months of trying to get ahold of him, I give up, and I CANONLYHOPETHATHEDECIDESTOREFUNDUSTHE350 of the 450 that we paid him, as HEISUNDERCONTRACTTODOSO. But I doubt he will. OH! and he was short with my mom when she first let him know the wedding was cancelled.
