Always a favorite! They have the best corn fritters and some amazing ribs! Everything is always cooked to perfection. I’ve never been in to eat, we’ve only ever done takeout and never have to wait long. I could have sworn they used to deliver too but I’m not seeing that option. What a shame.

I would start at four and a half if I knew how. The Hobbit striped were delightful and I would highly recommend the sample planner as everything in it was really good. The ice cream is free! Don’t forget to try the fritters with with your food with the honey butter because there are amazing.

For many years, the Sourdough Mining Company has been part of our«Alaska experience» that we plan for visiting family & friends. Tonight, we entertained guests from OK and were simply embarrassed! We started off with a basket of chilled sourdough rolls and cold/hard pats of butter. This was a warning I should have heeded. I didn’t, of course. I ordered the renowned Corn Fritter appetizer. When they finally arrived, the corn kernels inside looked burnt and chewy. The only redeeming part of our meal was the honey butter. The $ 15 – 25 entrees were just meh — over cooked and tossed on a plate. I won’t make the same mistake again. That’s the last hundred dollars I’ll drop at the Sourdough Mining Company…

Cute, rustic atmosphere. Enjoyed the ambiance of the place. Because of the rave reviews for the corn fritters we had them as an appetizer. Good, but not sure I would rave about them — also cost about $ 1 apiece. Had the McKinley burger which was tasty but had an unusual texture for a burger — reminded me of the look and feel of a McDonald’s quarter pounder. Like I said it was tasty but just felt a little unusual. Meal included a chunk of corn on the cob that was absolutely not edible. Service was good. Staff came by regularly to see how we were doing and were very responsive. Waitress didn’t bother to check. Dish of soft serve ice cream with the meal appeared to be the only desert option.

Have been here several times, Love the corn fritters! Seem I always like the places on Unilocal that everyone hates, I have tried the restaurants that people give 5 stars on here and have been disappointed every time. I think most people write unfair reviews after 1 time at a restaurant, I will go 3 or 4 times before I rate because no one is perfect. We have been here a few times and have brought family here and we will go back, the food has a home cooked feeling and I like it because it’s local and I like to support my community.

They have an ice cream machine with toppings that’s open to everyone who dines. It wasn’t very busy so our food didn’t take long to come out. It was ok… kinda greasy, but ok. Out of the 3 things that came in the platter(chicken strips, potato skins and halibut nuggets) I’d get the halibut nuggets again. Not that they were spectacular but the with the the tartar sauce they were cool. The potato skins were filled with grease and bacon and not in the good way! We also got the black jack chicken burger. When it came, the waiter said they ran out of pepper jack cheese but he brought Tabasco sauce to compensate.

I was visiting family in AK from OC, California. We received slow service, the sourdough rolls were lukewarm. I expected hot delicious rolls, after all I was at a sourdough restaurant, nope, not here. The corn fritters were the best item we ordered, the ribs were okay. The halibut was just okay as well. This establishment is not worth the money or time. Our female waitress, who was tall and dark haired was pre-occupied while taking our order, she kept looking away as she was talking to us, we then had to repeat our entrée, she came to check on us after we were done eating, just in time for the check. Horrible service! Tried it once my family who lives in Anchorage and I will never be back.

Service– Slowest service ever… over 40 min wait for food to arrive. The server never bothered to stop by and check on the table or refill drinks food finally arrived as we were discussing where else to go. Only saw our server a combined 3 times the entire visit. Food– When they sat us they brought rolls that were ice cold in the middle and no butter. When our meal did arrive the chicken was greasy. The pulled pork was dry and tasteless. The ribs were closer to jerky that had been left on the bone. The coleslaw and beans tasted like they were poured out of a can. Atmosphere– the acoustics allow for a «wonderful» mix of the dish pit and loud old country belting out over the speakers to the point you couldn’t hear people across the table.

This place has really good sourdough rolls and the corn fritters were delicious. However, our main meals were less appetizing. One of us had a cold dish, one was watery, and the other was alright. I would go here for the bread and appetizers again, but not to get a meal.

I gave one star only because I had to. They were supposed to cater our company Christmas party. Imagine Our surprise when we showed up to get food and they hadn’t even started making it yet. Thanks for screwing up the party :(do you know how hard it is to find food last minute for 100 ppl?

Is there quality going downhill? I came for ribs and they were cold and over cooked. As always, the corn muffin thingys are bomb. Soft, chewy dough that’s been deep fried. Yes, I would fly to Alaska for this again.

Mediocre food with even worse service. The young man who was our server was just awful. He never refilled our drinks, checked on the food after it was dropped off by another server, or came by with the check. We ended up asking another sever to get our ticket. Then waited for about 15 minutes before he came to pick it up and run the credit card. Then waited forever to get our card back. If I could be guaranteed to not have that server I’d go back and give the food another chance.

We were SHOCKED at how big each item was, be it appetizer or main dish. It was enough food to feed 10 instead of 3. We took lots of leftovers back to the hotel and still didn’t finish it all by the time we left. All the food was. Rey tasty and our sever(Michelle?) was fantastic. Not sure what all the nay sayers are about but we had a great time and enjoyed great food and fun friendly service.

Food is good, portions are good for the price, service is OK but slow. We had to ask for drink refills. We asked several times for a high chair, we did eventually get one. Servers were friendly and patient with the kids. Soft serve ice cream comes with your meal, you serve yourself.

Corn fritters rock. Their brisket is on the level. Want a huge, hardy meal, come here. For all you aspiring food critics, lay off. This is a place you come to eat, not come to wave your pinky in the air. P. S. Love the bear.

Ugh. Came here with a large party. They assigned ONE server for all 30+ of us! We even requested more help and were told«There might only be one, but he’s amazing at serving!». Clearly, we disagreed. I would say there were only two other tables occupied in the entire place on a Saturday night. We asked two different staff members for the address to tell our other guests and no body knew. I ordered the King crab add on for my halibut and it was $ 25, when it came to the table I was literally in shock, it was only ONETINYLEG. The day prior i had ½lb for $ 13 from a super ritzy restaurant and it included two ginormous legs. I mentioned this to our server and he said«Yeah well does it look like i make the prices?». The food was really, really subpar. Comparable to a Denny’s or Ruby Tuesday with prices comparable to Morton’s Steakhouse. Never again!

Ugh. Don’t go for the Prime Rib. Dry, chewy, bleh ==== NOTFRESH. Not sure how old it was, but it did not seem fresh. Maybe it was last Friday nights PRib, but not this Friday nights. If only 20% of tables are full. I guess there is a reason for that. I remember the glory days of this place… my how have times changed.

There burgers and fried are really good. Highly recommend coming here! Great for family night out. Servers are great as well. Giving it 4 stars instead of 5 because of the interior.

Had the coconut chicken salad, was delicious. I’m allergic to shrimp and this was a wonderful substitute to coconut shrimp. My friend had the chowder which she said was very good but a little heavy. Service was great. Lost a star because of the odd hours on Saturday. Weird that they don’t necessary open for a normal time at lunch but earlier then usual for dinner.
