Our Fisher and Paykel dual drawer dishwasher broke again less than 1 year after Allen and Petersen replaced the water pump. I was told it would take 2 weeks for an appointment and the usual $ 99 service fee deposit. Definitely no concierge service for buying multiple appliances from this place. They must have a cash register that dings every time I place a call. Just paid $ 450 to fix the icemaker on our Electrolux Icon… yeah! So far, my appliances have more maintenance than both our rescue doberman mix dogs. Wondering if I should purchase pet insurance on these appliances and dress them up in fur. My appointments for 30 Dec 2015 and will update this after we find out how much they will drain from the old wallet again.

I haven’t bought any large appliances at Allen & Peterson, but I’ve sure drooled over them when I’ve been over there to shop in the cooking supply section or to attend one of the classes upstairs. Nice stuff! I’ve purchased quite a few cooking gadgets there over the years and they have a pretty decent supply. I wouldn’t rate them as the least expensive cooking store in Anchorage — but then again, everything I’ve ever bought there is top-notch. I guess you really do get what you pay for. One of the coolest things about the place is how friendly and helpful the staff are! Like John P. mentioned — I’ve been to several of the cooking classes upstairs over the years too. They are always a blast! I’ve only been to the«hands on» classes and I really like how much you get to do. Between being up to your elbows in flour or whatever it is you’re cooking, laughing with the other participants, and then getting to sit down and enjoy what you all just made together, it really is a fun evening! Plus, you get to use a lot of the upper end appliances that they sell downstairs. :D

I am giving this review with regards to the cooking classes they offer here. They are instructional helpful and really open the doors if you have a whim to learn some extra culinary arts. This is a great gift, and alot of fun! In as far as the appliances, Great stuff, but expensive!!!
