This place is a decent place for sushi. You definitely get your money’s worth because the food is tasty and portions are huge – enough for two people to share. I would recommend this place to others.

Hello, fellow customers. I am Daniel(the cashier with the black rim glasses, the taller one that works in the mornings) I am sad to say that our restaurant closed down due to insufficient sales. I’d like to personally thank all the loyal customers who came by every week to eat our food! You guys coming back kept me company and made me glad because it gets boring :/. Unfortunately I‘ve lost my job in this process too so I wont be able to see you guys anymore :(. But good news is there still are other locations including Cerritos @ Cerritos Towne Center/Norwalk/Long Beach @ Long Beach Towne Center. Hope you guys enjoy the rest of the year.

If you’re a family with a car visiting the disney area, looking for a good place to eat away from the chaos, and take out Japanese is a staple in your kids diet, go to yasai. The food is a good deal. Service has always been fine the many times I’ve been here, and my kids love the food. The rolls are ok, but the grilled meats are great! Edit

The food here is delicious and they give you so much for a good price. I usually get 3 meals out of one. Their grilled meats are delicious and their rolls are fresh and big. They have a special of 10% off that you do not need a coupon for, but I don’t know how long that’s going to stay in effect. There is free parking in the back with validation.

Theres not much here BUT. the reason I’m giving this 4 stars is because i LOVE their side salad!!! It’s the one you’ll see in the glass on the left side. its like a slaw with this yummy sesame savory vinagrette. Has no meat or anything but it has crispy wonton strips in it(I usually take these out bc its not healthy but good nonetheless) I eat this for lunch all the time, and bonus, a side is only $ 3 and they fill up the box like crazy.

The food is good but the kid behind the register really didn’t know what he was doing. I would eat here again, but I hope someone else will take my order.

One of my absolute favorite less than fancy sushi joints. Fish is of descent quality and the staff is always friendly… As rare as it is to say with sushi, this place gives you a near unfinishable amount of food on a consistent basis. I usually get a spicy tuna roll and some version of nigiri. wait times can range from fantastically short, to the entire contents of angel stadium. I live above the place so I cannot comment on parking, however it looks pretty painful.

I was a little nervous to try this place after the bad customer service comments. Because, really, you can’t find someone, anyone, who can manage a cash register with a smile and a bit of urgency? The service was fine — average, but not horrendous. Caveat emptor, I went at 7 pm on a Wednesday evening and was one of three customers. I may put on my patient hat and try it for lunch one of these days since it’s so very close to my office. The food was above average and a very good value for the price paid. Like other reviewers’ experience, the portions are very good.

The food here is not bad. The portions are huge and you’ll never really spend more than $ 10 here for lunch. I’ve tred the teri chicken and the spicy tuna rolls. I’ve probably been here 3 – 4 times and the service is always gerat. Again, the food isn’t the best around, but it is definietly fast, tasty and plentiful. If you’re close by, I recomend stopping in when you’re really hungry and on a budget.

Okay, I was a little harsh with my first review because I was so angry with the service. I still have not gone back but from what I have heard, the girl ISGONE. The food… is alright. Honestly, it’s not the best and it isn’t my first choice for sushi and/or my sashimi salad but for me, it is convenient.

Having recently re-located from Honolulu I was on the search for some good Japanese eats… and I think I found it! This location is great. Brand new so it’s clean and the service is also on point. Now let’s get to the food… They serve predominately Japanese food… all the standards. Sushi, sashimi, udon, teri plates and even SPAM musubi(but they call it masubi for some reason). I’ve tried the salmon teri, tofu salad and some of their sushi rolls. The fish is fresh and the servings are ENORMOUS for the prices. Nothing is over $ 10 and they usually throw in a free cup of miso soup and salad. The plates come with miso soup, 2 different salads, veggie skewer, container of rice and whatever meat you choose. The most expensive plate is the salmon teri for $ 7.99! And they give you 10% percent off on weekdays and 20% off on weekends… I think it’s their grand opening special. Bottom line this place is great for quick, delicious Japanese eats. Not sure if the owners are Hawaiian but I have a feeling they are. They serve Kona coffee(from Japan), Aloha brand shoyu(soy sauce) and they sell mixed plates… all of this screams local plate lunch. Final Verdict: Gotta try it if you’re feeling some Japanese quick eats.

This Place is awesome. And it’s convenient for myself since I live in the Apt. building on the same block. The Spicy Tuna Rolls do not lack in Tuna at all. They do not lack in giving you the condiments you need(Wasabi, Soysauce, Ginger). Every person I have encountered that works behind the counter has been very friendly.

First time here. Read the other reviews. The service is not bad at all. First of all there’s only one person behind the counter so don’t expect this poor guy to be your waiter if you’re dining in. He’ll give your food when it’s ready so I hope you douche bags leave a tip. Their servings are huge for the price you pay. I wish there was one near my place. I’d go every week!

I’ve wanted to try this place for a full year and finally had lunch there today. I ordered the #33 Philadelphia roll(Salmon, cumberers, cream cheese), it was disgusting. I’ve never had salmon taste so slimy and the cream cheese was melted(not hard at all)!! I told the girls at the counter and understood my complaint for me to offer me to switch out my order. There manager came out and was very rude and argued me down about me not liking my meal. I was already embarrassed to take it back, but she only made me feel worse. Finally after she told me how great the Philly roll was and that I didn’t understand what I was talking about I was finally able to order another dish. I ordered chicken teriyaki which lacked flavor. Once I started to eat my food the Manager came over and told me that she tried my food and there was nothing wrong with it and I should have not returned it because it was fresh. Needless to say I will never return. The Manager is horrible and the only good thing about that place is the house salad.

Terrible, terrible service. My girlfriend and I were excited to try this place because we heard it was good, however it turned out to be one of the worst dining experiences due to an accumulation of these factors… 1. Terrible customer service from the young Asian girl in sweatpants behind the register. 2. We had to bus our own table that was all dirty with soy sauce all over it. It easily could have been cleaned since we were the only ones in the place on a Saturday night, but obviously the girl behind the counter is completely lazy because she was just sitting on a stool texting on her cell phone the whole time. 3. The LCDTV was nice, but it was turned way up on some Japanese channel. Too loud for that small area. 4. The girl behind the counter’s cell phone went off and her friend came in and her and her friend got all loud and dropping F-bombs in front of the registers which is about 8 feet away from our table.(Now, I have nothing against cussing, except this was completely annoying and inappropriate and just added fuel to the fire) 5. Still waiting for our food after 15 minutes, we decided to get our money back because we just couldn’t stand being in this environment any longer. I asked to speak to a manager and of course there wasn’t one working. The girl had no clue what to do and asked the chef if she should give our money back. I told her that I would love to tell the manager what’s going on here and she finally refunded my money. So, after all that, we didn’t even get to eat and ended up going to Panda Express across the street and not only saved money, but actually got to enjoy our night. Who knows… Yasai may serve good sushi, but the girl ruined it big time!
