This is my first hair cut in this area. I’m a very picky person for hair cut… but I have to say Liana did a good job this time. She’s very patient and good. I saw somebody said the price is 27 for wash, cut and dry but I paid 33 for my hair cut, not including tip.
I gave 4 stars because I want to see if she does a good job next time. Some places give you a good service at the first time for making you go back, then the next time the quality just changed… so we will see.

Great salon, appointments are an ease to make and liana is wonderful. I have longer hair and I get a cut/​foil highlight. Liana gets the color I want perfectly! Highly recommend.

I’ve had great cuts with this place before, so I don’t want to be too harsh, but I just had a not so great experience. After my haircut, I got an eyebrow wax. My hairdresser said something about «cleaning up» my brows and I agreed, saying I really didn’t want to mess with the actual shape of my eyebrows. First off, my eyebrows are now completely asymmetrical. Second, they /​have/​been sculpted, and they’re much thinner than I wanted. One of them has a very thick side, then sharply tapers off into a thin line. The other is a different shape entirely. I don’t know. I got this cut and wax for my college graduation in a few days, and now I look worse than I did when I got here. I might’ve felt a bit better if they acknowledged how messed up my brows look, but I was charged full price and no comments were made, even though I was clearly unhappy with the results. The only plus is that she didn’t cut my bangs well above my brow, like I asked, so I can at least hide one of my eyebrows under my hair.

Amazing from start to finish! Staff is so friendly and ask questions to really understand what you want. I needed an extreme color correction and my stylist fixed it perfectly and it looks amazing. Decent prices as well!

Liana gave me quite possibly the best haircut I’ve ever received. Would definitely recommend.

The staff are really nice. I went here to get my hair colored for the first time. I was SOOO EXCITED! But when It was done I was so disappointed because I told the lady I did not want my hair to be light and I told her I wanted it to look natural and told her more detail of what I wanted. When she finished it was SO light and not natural looking at all! It’s so orange looking. Now, I have to get it redone by my boyfriends mom! That’s was 100+ down the drain.

My haircut was only $ 27 with the student discount and it included a wash, cut, blow dry, and styling with a straightener. Jackie was super sweet and my hair came out looking really healthy and layered. Exactly what I wanted!

My stylist cut my hair exactly how I asked and she was very fast. With a student discount my cut was $ 27. For a cheap haircut, this place is great.
I also liked that they didn’t try to sell me products.

I only go to the Chopping Block for my hair during the school year. I’ve gotten multiple trims here, all of which turned out great and true to my vision. The price is kind too; they do offer student discounts!
This review is for Liana, who gave me a full foil a few days ago when I decided to go from a dark brown to a light ash brown. The process was long! But Liana was so approachable and easy to talk to during those three hours. I actually returned the next morning because I wasn’t too happy about how light my hair and Liana fixed it up in no time. I was really appreciated that she offered to re-​tone my hair at no additional charge even though I insisted on tipping her. This establishment is full of caring, talented hairdressers who are capable of working with any type of hair, unlike the one around the corner that struggled with my Asian texture and gave me an expensive and sloppy cut.
Also, my boyfriend got his hair cut by Liana and he loves it; he’s incredibly picky and refused to go to Matt’s because they messed up his hair once. Do it, make your appointment here!

CB doesn’t try to sell you anything, but use great products on you. The stylists are super talented and conscientious to your style requests and your desire to be talked to. And they’re super efficient! I left feeling like the girl in the Garnier commercial with her orgasm-​inducing hair and was surprised at how little time it took to come out looking so great. CB’s fantastic!
This skinny hair salon’s atmosphere is boho, earthy-​chic, which makes for great sitting while you’re stuck in a chair for a while. Because there are only a few chairs, appointments suggested. Best mid-​range haircut I’ve had.

Jackie is amazing! Such a great and unpretentious salon! I really could not be happier with the way she listened to what I wanted but also suggested a few different things that I hadn‘t thought of but were ultimately right on! And they don‘t try to push products on you at all – even though they have some really good ones. I highly recommend this salon!

The Chopping Block was recommended to me by one of my local Amherst friends. I made a last minute appointment today and they not only worked with me but did a great job. Ask for Liana, she was super friendly, professional and most importantly did a fantastic job getting my mop of hair into shape! High recommend.

I’ve had a very good experience with Brook. I am going gray and she does a good job doing highlights and lowlights for me. She is responsive and listens well to figure out what I want and make it happen.

I went it to try out the color. A friend of mine had gone before and they did and amazing job with her low lights and then highlights on top… Seeing her hair, I was impressed. She has blond hair. I have curly brown hair and they gave my color a lift, took out all the grays, and the foils didn’t look too chunky. I was pretty impressed with their ability to do color. This place is SOOOO much cleaner that it used to be. The people are super friendly too!
