Love this local place for good food: burrito, quesadilla and a whole lot more. Super easy for takeout, expanded seating for dine in. Good and super friendly staff who make great food. Mission across the street is good but this is down home good cooking.

I drove by this place forever and always went across the street to Mission Cantina. While I like everything about Mission except the wait, I’ve been coming here a lot lately. It’s even easier for takeout. The food has been really, really good. Great chorizo burritos and enchiladas. Food is priced well, they’re nice, and they’re easy to get in and out of. Five stars.

Best catfish tacos ever. The only problem I have with them is online says they are open one time, but they close at a sooner time and it’s disappointing when I travel there for nothing.

Ok, I’ll say it. This isn’t really a Mexican restaurant. But that’s my common complaint about so-called«Mexican» restaurants in New England. It would be better if places like El Comalito come out and say it like it is – they’re a Salvadoran restaurant that uses«Mexican» as a marketing strategy. Yeah, the pupusas are good. And yeah, everybody knows how to wrap a bunch of ingredients in a tortilla and call it a burrito. New England is weird when it comes to Mexican food.

Good food, though watch out the chips are not free — added an extra $ 9 to bill for 2 baskets

Amazing food hidden away behind the Moan and Dove. Best Mexican/Salvadorian spot in the area by far.

Sorry to say we have had several not so great experiences here lately: messed up orders(wrong items, items left off order) as well as food quality and taste issues. Last time we had burritos there were maybe 3 small pieces of meat in the whole thing. Very disappointing as this had become our go-to place for Mexican food. People manning the phones need to be trained better. We are taking a break after consistently experiencing issues with our last 3 – 4 orders.

Oh damn! This place had some of the best Mexican food I’ve had in a long time. Living in DC, I’ve been deprived of good Mexican for about 8 years, and was pleasantly surprised to find such amazing food in Western Mass on a random Saturday afternoon. I ordered the carnitas tacos — three good-sized tacos filled with delicious, flavorful pork, accompanied with rice and beans that were anything but bland. But the highlight of the meal? My boyfriend ordered the chicken molé, and wow… it was spectacular. The sauce had so much flavor! I can’t wait to eat my way through the rest of the menu. The only downside was that I couldn’t order a taco combo, so I wasn’t able to try any of the other taco flavors on a single visit. But really, that’s a minor complaint compared to the quality of the food. You’re awesome, El Comalito!

Go here instead of the overrated, and overpriced gringo place across the street. I work within walking distance of El Comalito and frequently get their take out for lunch. They’re always the friendliest, most accommodating people. I’ve tried a variety of their options like the plantains, tacos, burritos. All fantastic and priced great. I’ve been dying to try the papusas, I just never have the time(they take 20 minutes). They have a daily special at a great price, usually around $ 5 or $ 6, and breakfast!

I go to San Miguel Mexico for vacation often. It’s breathtaking. Art is everywhere and you can eat well and get some mean boots at a good price. The food is amazing. That being said, I like the food at El Comalito more than most of the places in San Miguel. Right now I’m eating a Tinga burrito in my car and I am so happy. Also now they are adding a beautiful bar.

Very enjoyable meal of perfectly cooked cheese enchiladas with the best mole sauce this side of the Rio Grande. Perfectly efficient and friendly service. Being so close to Mission Cantina is tough, but I cracked the code! Mission is perfect for eat in and this place is perfect for take out. You can even take you food to Moan and Dove!

I have been living in the area for about 4 years now and didn’t come to El Comalito until recently. This whole time I was missing out on one of the best restaurants in town. The staff is so welcoming and the food is freshly cooked. If you want some authentic Salvadorian food you must try El Comalito!

Found this cute little place through Unilocal and went twice on the same week. It’s simple, no frills Mexican and Salvadorian dishes. You order as you come in and then a waitress brings your dish to the table. Service is very friendly. I tried the papusas and they were on point. On my second day I had the green enchiladas which were also very tasty. It’s not a fancy place but often the best places aren’t. It is very cozy and inviting. Several tables. Ample parking. Clean bathroom.

Coming from California I’m pretty picky with my Tacos and Enchiladas. This place I shall return. Very good. We ordered almost one of everything. Shrimp Tacos were Awesome! Tongue Tacos, Carnitas amazing and guacamole ! Chicken Tacos were a little salty but I’d order them again. Cheese and Cheese/Jalapeño Pupusas were our Favorites! I’m happy to spread the word… Oh Horchata was awesome and cinnamony my favorite!

It has been a while since we have come to this restaurant, but after having lunch here we think that this place has improved on their already incredible food. They have added some new items to their menu such as tacos de lengua which we loved. The tortillas are perfect and the Papusas were incredible as well. This restaurant now has a remodeled dining area which allows you to comfortably sit and enjoy your meal. This was something lacking in the past, but we definitely enjoyed eating lunch here. The staff is still polite and you can tell that it is a family run restaurant. We thoroughly love this restaurant and wish that we were closer so that we could eat here more often. This in the place to stop for dinner or lunch!

We stopped into El Comalito on a Saturday evening. The Shrimp Tacos were very good and my husband loved the Pulled Pork Tacos. The Guacamole serving was pretty small for the price but the chips were fresh and tasty. I really wanted to order a pupusa but they have a minimum order of 3 and they take atleast 20 minutes to make so we just couldn’t justify it on this quick stop before a long ride home. The atmosphere is cozy with colorful décor and the service was efficient, I would definitely stop here again the next time I’m in the area.

3 ½ stars*** A long wait and long lines usually include something worthwhile. I ordered 3 steak tacos, roughly 8 dollars, and waited over 30 mins for them to come out after waiting in a 20 min line. They were nothing special, leaving me very dissappointed. I’m happy I added a side of guacamole because that was very fresh and probably my favorite item. I think next time I will call ahead and opt for the enchiladas.

So I love love love Mexican food and a solid torta, so I was pretty stoked when I found this place. The wife and I decided to check it out on our trip to Trader Joe’s. You walk in and it’s reminiscent of your favorite Chinese take out location. Some seating but predominantly a pick up and eat it elsewhere establishment. Considering we don’t live anywhere close we opted to eat in house. Reading the reviews I knew I had to try a pupusa, everyone raved about them and I’m always down to try something new. We also ordered a steak torta, fried plantains, and two mexican sodas. The cost was pretty reasonable with 10% tip in the jar it was around $ 25. I have to break the food down separately because some was way better than others. Torta: I would give this 3 stars. Couple of complaints the steak was a little dry/overdone, it was also in large medallions which was annoying because it made for some steak-less bites(not cool) and the bread was pretty hard(it actually cut the roof or our mouths). All of the key ingredients were there I’ve just had it done much much better. One other good thing is the sandwich was pretty large probably ~10″ so it will definitely fill you up. Pupusas: Five stars all the way… flipping delicious! I honestly had no idea what to expect even after reading the reviews, but I was surprised in a very good way. Basically they place the beans and cheese(or whatever the ingredients may be) between two fresh made corn tortillas. Then they place it on their hot plate and grill it until its an amazing gooey blend of cheese/bean/corn tortilla. Caution these are flippin hot(I burned the roof of my mouth in my exuberance). So you have to order a minimum of 3, I got 2 beans and cheese and 1 jalapeño and chees. I would definitely get just beans and cheese next time. My only complaint here is the lack of filling for the pupusas. Its awesome with just beans and cheese, but adding some carmelized onion, steak, or chorizo would make this amazing. Fried plantains: Five star, not much to say here as long as you don’t over or underfry them its hard to mess up. Bottom Line: I would definitely go there again. Great food, pretty cheap prices(we couldn’t eat all of the food probably enough for 3 people). I would skip the torta and try their nachos or the chorizo burrito, alot of great choices. whats not to like.
