Walked in and tried to take a picture of a typewriter my friend was interested in so I could send it to her. Bob turned out to be a dick to me, told me I couldn’t take any pictures. I left… never shop there again!

This store is great, very handy if you need either common or hard-to-find items. The owners are friendly and make me want to return. A growing number of people recognize the benefits of distraction-free typewriters and it’s great to have shops like this around.

Unique shop dealing in Typewriters and other obsolete forms of word processing. Typewriters are priced in a manner indicating that they are aware there’s nowhere else you can go.

I walked past this shop several times, and finally went in one day. Bob, the owner, is a gentle spirit and made me feel welcome. He showed me some typewriters and I became interested. I enjoy the writing process on a typewriter. I can think while i type with no distractions, no electricity, no hum of a computer fan; when I stop, there’s no rebooting or memory storage issues… its all there, just where i left off. Once I have a short story typed out, I simply read it in to Dragon Naturally Speaking and now it’s on my computer, ready for editing. Bob spent over two hours helping me try different models, and in the end, I paid cash(no credit cards accepted) for a vintage Royal. I love it. Bob gave me a receipt and a ninety day warranty. Typewriters are bombproof, but since they’re old, they need to be set up like a violin. I’d never buy one from eBay for that reason. That’s why I tried mine before buying. I strongly urge people to stop in and see Bob like I did. Enjoy.
