How disappointing! This restaurant has gone dark I believe. I thought I saw a sign that it is for lease. I thought the place was wonderful, but the atmosphere left something to be desired. I hate to think that they are not going to be open anymore; anyone know if they are going to move into the spot where that Mexican restaurant was on Hwy 29? Was it El Ranchero?

Was a good place, good chicken and the cole slaw was good too, but I think they are closed now. :(

Went here on a Saturday, based on my co-worker’s recommendation. Great customer service. Owner was very attentive and respectful. Ordered the chicken plates(no beans, rice only) — was good, but not that flavorful. Tried chili relleno, just alright, and marinated pork ribs, not the typical American BBQ that I’m used to, but it was OK. Location is kinda hidden, can’t see it right away. tortilla chips was fresh, good salsa. Chicken taco is awesome. I would recommend. Authentic taste at its’ class!

Tucked away and barely noticeable from busy HWY29. Plenty of parking. If you’re like me you’ll take it to go. I just can’t put my finger on it. I sat there waiting for my order thinking to myself … Something’s missing, something makes me not want to stay and eat here… I turned to Husband and asked, «What’s missing?» He replied«Heat.» Why yes it was freezing I turned to the Kidlet and asked, «What’s missing?» He replied«Music, it’s quiet» True True it is quiet… but that’s not all. They need to work on the ambiance something is lacking and I don’t know what. Anyways! The important thing is you can still get the family pack dinner here… carne asada, salsa, rice, beans, tortillas for under $ 20 and you could easily feed 4 with this meal. I want to go back and try other things namely the Guarachas(I hope I am spelling that right)

Mmmm Steak Fajitas with Bee and Theresia. Only thing missing on my plate was a lime wedge :(But i ate it all and loved it. Food gets 4 stars. And Staff gets three, might of been easier to refill my own glass of water… hmm. Also the chips they offered tasted strange. Not sure I can say what it was. The reason I can’t give it 4 stars at least is the atmosphere etc. It’s like being in a dinky cafeteria. They should rethink their seating arrangement and décor. ambiance. I’m just saying. I could have eaten my food at home and watched Novellas instead of a football game. Would have had more atmosphere. So fix that glitch and I’ll be a happy eater. :)

Food is good so I’m assuming that’s what all the other 5 star reviews are about. But service, atmosphere and just plain business sense need a serious tune-up. Space is very empty and tables are poorly constructed. It appears they opened inside an industrial shell(not in a cool way) and used whatever they could find on clearance at Office Depot for furnishings. It feels like a small, dilapidated school cafeteria. Therefore, try take-out instead of eat-in. But be sure to double check your order as they have a lot of communication problems between the cashier’s poor attitude and worse listening skills. You have to ask for everything at least three times, daily menus are not very legible(not even spelled correctly in either language) and they’re too lazy to even list prices much less preparation and/or food descriptions. Salsa and other condiments are not available unless you ask — repeatedly. And this food is tasty but has zero heat. Note to Owners: why not invest in a business consultant, a business course or even try sending your service workers to finishing school? This place could be a good addition to American Canyon eateries but right now its food is buried under a severe lack of customer service. Until they can work out the growing pains, I can get excellent food AND great service elsewhere.

Their chicken is the BEST. I had a chicken super burrito and I certainly did not regret it. I think they smoke their chickens whole(and probably their other meats) so you get chunks of smoky, juicy chicken in your burrito. The burrito also came with avocado, rice, salsa, sour cream, beans, and cheese. The tortilla is divine. Oh, and I’m able to eat half, then save the other half for the next day — nice plus for the broke who want to eat hearty! I’ve had their carne asada burrito, which was also good(how could you screw that up?) but I’ve made up my mind that their chicken is better. I’ve also had their chicken tacos. They’ve also got tri-tip, which I haven’t tried yet, but I sure will very soon! Mmmm.

I don’t know how they did it but the made my favorite burrito even better! Ricco Pollo is my favorite burrito joint around. They used to be in Vallejo under the name Chavez Market. They had to leave that location due to construction, so they dropped the market and opened up a dedicated restaurant in American Canyon with an expanded menu of Mexican, BBQ, and American. It also seems that the drop of the market has them concentrated on their food and that has put them up on the next level. I can only speak for the burritos because that is all I have ever ordered, but if the rest of there food is as good then this place is worth a visit! The pics of the menus that J.M. posted are current; they also have a wide selection of beverages in bottles and cans. Seating inside for 20 people, plus outside benches, plus chairs to sit and wait to take out. Old business
