Okay, so as a frequent visitor of Thai squared, I have come to expect a few things: see my girl at the front counter, spring roll with my lunch order, and great food. During a visit last month, I noticed the staff was different… maybe their on vacation? The food tastes a little different and by different, I mean it’s not better. Lastly, I usually order coconut soup, no mushrooms, and extra spring rolls… I was advised that I may not want the extra order of spring rolls because lunch is served with a spring roll… my soup did not come with a spring roll, I didn’t get my spring roll. Low and behold, they are under new management. Needless to say, I’m not too impressed thus far, but along with my money, I’m willing to give them another shot… but it will be with great caution. Stay tuned for my next review.

Everyone is always friendly. We get the coconut soup and the basil rolls as usual. Their pad thai is good and their green curry is excellent. Descent prices for the size of the meals and nice atmosphere. Great for a quick bite.

Had Panang curry and Drunken noodles with veggies and tofu. Panang curry was exceptionally good and flavorful. Drunken noodles were good too but were missing the burnt flavor which I like.

It looks like a takeout place but they do have tables both inside and outside eating areas. The restaurant was very clean and the service was quick. We ordered Tom Yum soup, red curry with beef, Thai basil with beef and Chicken larb. Soup was luke warm but tasty. We ordered the basil beef very spicy and it was spicy with lots of flavor. The best thai basil beef I ever tasted. I gave 4 stars because of the chicken larb which was not only mild but very gamey.

Great place for lunch. Super friendly staff in a laid back environment. The food is delicious across the board but my standby is the Green Curry with Fried Tofu. Everyone gets a spring roll as appetizer delivered to your table which is a nice touch. Outdoor seating area is a good option in nice weather.

First visit to Thai Squared. I called to place a takeaway order for coconut soup and spicy spaghetti. The coconut soup(Tom Kha) is prepared with chicken, mushrooms and cilantro. Notwithstanding a little too much cilantro for my palate, it was good. I requested chicken as my protein for the spicy spaghetti. It is prepared green onions, carrots and peppers in a spicy tomato sauce. It was good with a medium level of spiciness. I ordered it to try something different from what I usually order from Thai restaurants; it was worth trying once. One disappointment is that mango sticky rice is not offered on the menu. Green curry is my favourite dish to order from Thai restaurants and that would be what I would order from here next. If that is good here, then it will pass my «litmus test» for future visits. NFC payments are accepted.

The first surprise was that this is not a full service restaurant although they do bring the order out to you. By glancing at the photos it looked like a full service restaurant but maybe that’s a good indication. You walk in and order at the fancy Square registers. Most of their menu items were around $ 8 to $ 10, which I felt was reasonable. I got the Pad See Ew($ 8.25 plus another $ 1.50 for beef). It was good but very salty. Some rice would have helped negate that or just make it less salty. It’s a pretty good portion as well. My friend got the pineapple ginger($ 8.25 I think). She didn’t complain about saltiness but she did have rice on her plate. Before you order, the waitress brings out a friend veggie egg roll, which I think comes with all orders. Not a bad service item. The service was friendly and helpful. I even dropped my credit card and an employee picked it up for me. I didn’t even notice it had fallen. The place is very Ikea-ish in a good way. The lower level has seating for about 25 and the upper level about 20. They have outside seating as well. It’s a good lunch option at a reasonable price.

Had been meaning to check this place out because it’s super close to where I work, had a good Unilocal rating, and well, I love Thai food! Unfortunately, I wasn’t particularly impressed. Both times I’ve been here I got take out. A month or so ago I came and got the pad si ew. It said it came with Chinese broccoli, and maybe it usually does, but mine was most definitely regular broccoli. The dish itself was honestly pretty bland. It’s only saving grace was their hot sauce that I added to it. I decided to give them another chance though, and last week I went back and got a staple — Pad Thai. It looked pretty good, but again… bland. It didn’t taste bad or anything, but didn’t taste like pad thai, or much of anything. I hesitate to even give them 3 stars because the food is really nothing to speak of. I wasn’t expecting it to be the most authentic Thai food I ever had, but was expecting more than what it was. But at least they were pretty quick, reasonably-priced, and the staff I dealt with were pretty friendly(I was offered water while I waited both times).

Updated review for catering My company hosted a luncheon last Wednesday off of Mansell Road. We ordered two large trays of fried rice(one vegetarian and one meat combo) and two small trays of red curry(one vegetarian and one chicken), and a tray of egg rolls(vegetarian is the only option). Don helped me with this luncheon and he is amazing! He was at the location earlier than me and had all the trays and silverware and serving spoons set up! He even included a large tray of white rice that I totally forgot to include! All the trays were perfectly covered and all of the food was fresh! Don really helped make this event easy for me! From inquiring last week to the day of the event, don was really transparent and professional the whole way thru. I will recommend this place for anyone who wants Asian food catered! If I can give this place 10 stars out of 5 I would! Thank you again don!

This has to be the best coconut soup I have ever had. The chicken was perfect, which is usually the issue with coconut soup. I even bought an order to go. The fried rice was fresh and tasted great. I will definitely be coming back!

I had the Drunken Noodles with Chicken. Spice level 2. Let me tell you the spiciness here is no joke. I have never been here before and thought 2 could not be bad but it is definitely quite hot. It’s not burn your face off hot but definitely has a great flavor to it. Just be sure if you can handle spicy to understand that #2 can be pushing it — at least for this dish. Rice noodles, onions, carrots, peppers and pea pods. All great and tasteful. I recommend trying this place if you haven’t yet!

I will not return. Ever. Even if this was the last place on earth. The service was great but the food was horrible. I mean yuck! I got the pad Thai to go and while the bag was sitting next to me in the car I couldn’t help but think«Why does this smell like dog food?!» I’m not even exaggerating. It smelled weird but I still have it a shot, thinking maybe it’s some authentic seasonings they use that would end up tasting delightful. Boy was I wrong! The food tasted old and just downright gross. I’ve had Pad Thai at several places throughout Atlanta and of course different restaurants have various recipes with the same general result. I mean I usually love it, but this was the worst Pad Thai I’ve ever had in my life!

Nice prices. Nice look and feel. And the food is amazing in nice portions. You have got to check this place out. They’re still figuring a few small minor things like wether to serve alcohol; BUT this place I’d definitely do multiple times and go on my own. Thai2 actually reminds me of my time in Bangkok and Chang Mai.

I asked the cashier what her favorite was, and she said she gets the mixed vegetable with the spicy basil sauce and chicken. That’s pretty much what I wanted(spicy basil chicken with extra vegetables), so I opted for that at a spice level of 3(on a scale of 1 – 5). I also got the basil rolls, which I use to judge Thai food places. We sat on the patio. There was a crisp spring roll with sweet chili sauce immediately brought to the table. Pretty soon the basil rolls arrived. They were ok — the wrapper was thick and there were more noodles than veggies, basil, or shrimp inside. The dipping sauce was your average sweet peanut sauce. The main dishes arrived, and since my dining companion had order the spicy basil chicken, it was only the extra veggies that set the two dishes apart. They’re served with white rice — I forgot to check whether or not you can get brown rice instead. The spicy basil chicken was indeed spicy, though I don’t recall much basil flavor. The chicken was tender and moist. I’m glad that I added extra veggies. The space is modern and clean, the service is good, and the prices are reasonable, particularly for Windward. I’ll be back.

Love the food! Fresh, right amount of heat and spices, bright and delicious. The curries are fantastic! The layout for seating in the main area is a little awkward. I prefer sitting outside or upstairs. Service is tough at lunch and lately it seems they need more staff. One cashier 8 – 10 people in line at lunch rush not cutting it. However the food comes out fast and is always on spot, so the still get 5 Stars.

Ok… this is my 2nd review. What is the problem? This place is hit or miss. .I’ve posted b4 how I love the chicken rice soup especially when I’m not feeling well. Last time it was watered down. This time i hardly had any broth(this is the most rice I’ve ever had). Hardly any scallions, just cilantro and 4 pieces of chicken. This time I called and the rude chic says well do you want to speak with the manager? I ask her, why? Is there nothing do can do for me? She says nope. My response. .no problem I’ll not return and post on Unilocal.Thanks.

I’m no Thai expert but this place is a pretty good option for a Thai fast food-type place. A co-worker and I had lunch there and it was my first time. I had the Drunken Noodles and it was pretty good; not the absolute best I’ve had in my limited exposure to Thai food but I’d eat it again if that means anything. I’d recommend budgeting about 10 – 15 min of time to order and get your food if you’re going for lunch. If you don’t have that kind of time, go early! The restaurant is bright, clean and the staff is friendly so they get a 4 rating on that. I like to rate restaurants based on if I’d eat there again and I would so go check it out!

«If your reviews are looking like essays, start a blog. I can’t read your life story on my phone before ordering from the menu» Time & Date of visit: Various times for weekday lunches Party Size: 2 Location/Ambiance: The address can be a little misleading of where the actual location of the restaurant is at. But it’s left of the road leading from the entrance, not right as google maps might suggest. Besides a small dining room section, the patio also has various tables for 4 which are great for the Spring/Summer when it’s not too humid. It seems after 2, the lunch rush dies down quite a bit. Service: This is a «Fast casual» kind of joint. Order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. Sitting on the patio might not get as good as service as they don’t really check out there too much. Most things like napkins and such you grab yourself. Food Highlights: Pad Thai: Don’t let my pic fool you, I was lucky to have good lighting at the time. Is it good Pad Thai, yes. Is it authentic in taste… I’m not to sure. It feels a little bit more Americanized to me. Definitely something missing, but made to appeal the majority Caucasian office types for lunch. Which isn’t necessary a bad thing. It’s just if you want authentic or something close to, you won’t find it here. Tom Kha(Chicken coconut soup): I wish the serving included more chicken. The broth is actually pretty good. A good balance of curry and coconut, without either overpowering each other. Just the bits of pieces of chicken didn’t do much for me. Thai Tea: Some what watered down. I’m hoping they use the Thai Tea leaves to brew it and not the powder crap. Though it was still overly sweet on each sip. Drink slowly from a straw. Cost: Prices were about average for this type of Americanized-Asian cuisine. Perfect for a decent lunch with out breaking your daily budget. Summary: Only because I’ve been spoiled by growing up eating authentic Thai food from restaurants and actual Thai friends at their homes, I’m going to give it 2.5 stars on food. If your palate isn’t as picky and you’re not too daring on trying more authentic Thai restaurants, it’s not a bad choice. But there are others.
