Been here a long time ago and wasn’t impressed, forgot what I ordered but gave them a second chance and really enjoyed it! Husband and I ordered breakfast croissants and they were delicious! Flaky croissant, crispy bacon, gooey melted cheese, and ham, so good! The coffee and teas were good too! We sat at the small table outside on the sidewalk, it was a nice day in the shade. There is also seating inside and on the mezzanine. I like that it’s across the street and down a shop from Starbucks too. Parking is easy, there’s a structure with multiple levels and plenty of spots! Prices are fair too. I’ve been persuaded, will return!

The sandwiches are so delicious and I recently had the AMLA smoothie– i’m hooked. Good luck going there to pick up lunch and NOT walking out with a mouth watering pastry

It is a hot day .was going to get half sandwich try out first .the fat lady at front looked mean and rude .she charged me full load sandwich price without asking me first .she brought my order to wrong table and did not apologize either .the BBQ chicken tasted ok, the bread was not fresh .will not come back again.

Finally had a chance to eat here for the first time since their business hours are the same as my working hours. I Order an tuna, avocado, bacon, tomato sandwich, plus some cookies and a really big croissant and I was amazed at the prices for all those delicious items… very friendly customer service and staff… I will be eating here again

$ 8 for a ho-hum BLT. Bacon is adequate but the LT is seriously lacking. The sandwich felt«wilted». I felt cheated. $ 4 for a subpar latte. It tasted like regular coffee is added to milk and make it a latte. Just NO. Price quality ratio is below average.

More like 3.5 stars. Both the Turkey & Avocado Sandwich & Hank’s Favorite(half for $ 5.75) were somewhat/kinda good. Their cream broccoli soup($ 3.95 for sm) is not bad. Got a side of egg salad for $ 3.50, which was so-so. Much rather spend more money to get a open face egg salad sandwich from Euro Pane in Pasadena. Lovebirds Café’s hot white chocolate mocha($ 3.25 for sm) is way too sweet and lacking in quality & taste. Lemon bar $ 2.35 was alright. Nothing spectacular. Could easily get better lemon bar elsewhere. Wouldn’t mind going back for the sandwich & soup though. Service was fine. Plenty of parking. Street park or in the structure nearby.

I’ve been trying to stop by this place for a REALLY long time but because they close pretty early, I never got a chance! Anyways, this place didn’t absolutely live up to my expectations; however, prices were reasonable and the bakery was DELICIOUS! I wasn’t too much of a fan of their California Sub and their strawberry lemonade was a little sour(but still really good). But then I tried one of cookies and a caramel bar(I forgot what the actual name was) and I was in LOVE! I’m definitely going to come back here again and order something else. If you ever plan on stopping here, do not miss out on any of their pastries! So worth it and so affordable too! By the way, Credit card minimum is $ 5! So if you’re not planning to spend that much make sure to bring some cash :)

I’d be more likely to eat lovebird seed than go to Lovebirds Café again. I ordered a salad with some modifications – no cheese, balsamic dressing. They botched those simple requests with ease. Full of cheese and the standard dressing. The salad itself(cobb) was confounding. Huge chunks of shredded chicken which are nearly unmanageable to eat and half an avocado just laying on top. I had to dice my own avocado and cut up the chicken to even make a dent. I had also requested for them to chop the salad, which they just completely ignored. We order here from work occasionally, and I’m going to do what I can to avoid it. There are so many other places in the area that are quality finds, there’s no sense in wasting money on a mediocre experience. One last note – a few others in my office ordered sandwiches and more than one of them commented on the small size of them.

Came here recently to grab lunch with a friend, but wasn’t super impressed by the sandwich. I got a ‘half’ because I didn’t really think the ‘full’ was worth the price. The café’s environment and feeling felt like a cheaper version of «urth caffe» but with lower level ingredients and not as good service. The workers there aren’t necessarily rude but won’t go out of their way to treat you nice either. It was a 3-star experience all the way.

I had brunch here last week. The place is pretty small, with room for maybe 20 inside and 10 outside, at least that I saw. Their menu is your typical breakfast foods along with some lunch items like salads and sandwiches as well as some good looking desserts. I ordered the lox sandwich on sour dough and fresh watermelon juice. My company ordered an egg and bacon breakfast sandwich with a fresh orange juice. My sandwich was good, though I should of asked for it toasted. The juices were luke warm which kind of a surprise, I threw some ice in mine and was haply with it. The breakfast sandwich was good apparently, but served cold. All and all it seems like a place to get a quick bite that’s a step above your typical selection but needs a little love on the details, or maybe it was an off day.

My favorite sandwich is chicken salad! With grapes. Wow. Amazing. Plenty. Highly recommended. Near Alhambra High School. Nice location. There’s the building for parking around the corner.

I really wasn’t expecting much. I just needed a quick bite before picking up my Papa who was in the recovery room at nearby Alhambra Hospital. But I am pleasantly surprised: my egg, ham, and turkey sandwich was delicious, huge, and filling. The fruit juice I ordered was also very tasty. All the ingredients seem fresh and there an impressive number of people here, which is odd for a place off the main thoroughfare. Street parking on First is plentiful plus there’s a structure nearby. One thing I hated: they put the calorie counts by each of their items and it really discouraged me from ordering fries, damnit! Ah well, I’m probably better off anyway. Now I can grab dessert! MWAHAHAHAHAHA!

My wife and I ate here after dropping off our daughter at preschool. It was about the only option in the area for breakfast at 8 a.m. Most of the items served here are sandwiches, and breakfast items were limited to just croissant sandwiches at the time of our visit. We ordered the Scrambled Egg & Cheese and Feta Cheese & Spinach croissants. The croissants were warm and fluffy with decent ingredients but just weren’t all that interesting. I mean it’s typical breakfast ingredients, nothing unusual. I think that’s the whole problem, nothing on the menu sounded exceptional or different. Everything looked very standard. Price is slightly on the high side as well. Not much more to say. It’s a pretty typical café/sandwich place. It’s located around the corner of 1st& Main. It’s the bright, teal colored building.

We had Lovebird’s catered for lunch at work! I didn’t read reviews before making my pick from the tray but the chicken salad sandwich looked too good to resist, THEN come to find out it’s one of there more popular items —Chicken salad sandwich: moist, indulgent, nice added sweetness with the grapes! even the oily thick bread was a nice touch —chocolate chip cookie: i think i’d stick to sandwiches with lovebirds, this was pretty mediocre —peanut butter cookie: just okay as well i guess if you’re craving sandwiches in the area Lovebirds wouldn’t be a bad choice

I love Lovebirds! Their sandwiches are top notch and service is always quick and friendly/ My favorite is the love that basil on the seven grain bread. Their pesto spread is super tasty and i like that they put a lot of greens in the sandwich. For a while I was ordering it with turkey, but it actually is really filling and delicious just as it is. Not to mention it cost $ 3.00 to have turkey added to the sandwich, which was just a bit too steep for me. There’s a parking lot just a little bit down the street, and there are 20 minute parking spots right in front of the store and across the street from it.

Opened in 1984, this is the original Lovebirds Café location and one of the four Lovebirds(the other three are all in Pasadena) in the San Gabriel Valley. I’ve always wanted to try their sandwiches, but Lovebirds only opens from Monday ~ Saturday and closes before 5PM(4PM on Saturday) — so basically I can’t come here during weekdays(due to work) and I also can’t come here for dinner after 5PM. It wasn’t until recently I had an opportunity to visit here for a quick Saturday lunch. When I first read the menu, I wasn’t exactly super excited about it because most of items sound pretty generic(e.g. roast beef, Caesar chicken salad. BLT, etc). Once you’ve pick what you want, then you can choose one of many available options for breads(Seven Grain, Capitola Sourdough, Heidelberg Rye, Jewish Egg, Westphalian Pumpernickel, Soft French Roll, Lavash, Ciabatta, Baguette, Bagel, Pita, All Butter Croissant, Whole Wheat, and Dr. Snyder *Seven Grain With Walnuts, Raisins & Honey*). *** Classic Reuben(Heidelberg Rye, Half $ 4.85 + add avocado for $ 1.50): One of the higher quality sandwich you’ll find in the San Gabriel Valley area. Rye bread was one of the best I’ve had in the Valley and it was a delicious reuben sandwich. *** $ 5 for a HALF(not full) sandwich is definitely a bit pricey, but the overall quality was very solid and I will probably try their strawberry lemonade if I ever come back here again.

I really love Lovebirds! This is such a great quality sandwich shop in Alhambra! Every time I order a sandwich the ingredients are always fresh. You can really taste the quality! Their Wild Alaskan Salmon and their Roast Beef are extremely delicious! The smoked turkey was good as well! The bread for each sandwich is always soft, and fresh! It feels like they just bake the bread at the restaurant that morning. Each ingredient in the sandwich(lettuce, tomato, cheese, meat) is also just as fresh! You can literally taste each item in every bite! They have a bunch of breads to choose from and I can never decide which bread I want, so they always give suggestions about what goes best with what sandwich. Also, I’ve heard much about their strawberry lemonade, but I never seem to get it. It’ll be a must order next time! The prices may be a little steep for a sandwich, but I guarantee you get what you’re paying for! It comes out quick, and the service is great as well. The reasons I gave this place 4 stars only is that the prices are a little expensive, and that they close at 5pm. I wish they open late every day so that I’m able to enjoy this yummy place more often!

I’ve been in this area for about 3 months now and today is my very first visit for lunch. My coworkers have said good things especially the sandwiches. So naturally, I ordered a sandwich. My friend decided on the Classic Reuben and I wanted the Pastrami. I said the air fries are a must so we split that between us. And to drench our thirst, two iced teas, no sugar. Lunch for me was around 1pm but it was still quite busy with people at the tables and taking it to go. I have to say waiting for the food wasn’t too long. Once the food arrived I immediately reached for… my phone of course! Had to take pictures! This review wouldn’t be complete without them! I will say I liked the Reuben more than the pastrami. I was expecting my sandwich to be hot and it was not. It was still good but I was slightly disappointed. Thankfully the other sandwich was good since we split it up so we could all have a taste! There are many more yummy stuff to try and I’m a fan. Also, if you feel like a sweet treat, I would recommend the lemon bar. It’s excellent! Tips-parking on street or structure on First Street. Many other pastries to try! Card and cash accepted.
