Great breakfast and lunch. Dinner is all about their Fried Chicken! They also have fixin’s to top off their burgers. I usually upgrade to the holster to hold my fries when I’m on the run. If you have a sweet tooth look no further, they have 4 buckets of ice cream ready for the scoop. If you’re a broke back mountain type they offer cookies and brownies. None the less, Roy’s got somethin’ for ya!

Food poisoning… My class and I were on a school trip and stopped here for lunch. My food was decent, however a couple of my friends claimed their food was not the best. One of them not much later found herself very sick and throwing up. She was miserable and had a hard time getting through the rest of the trip. Would definitely not recommend.

For anyone who is looking for a burger made to taste, crispy fried chicken, and/or roast beef sandwiches, a visit to Roy Rogers is a must. I have always been content with the eats. And, as so many Unilocal reviewers have stated, a fixins bar allows customers to top their burgers the way they want them. A word to the wise is sufficient. Avoid this Roy Rogers during the afternoon rush hour. With a lot of DOD functions now housed in Fort Belvoir, traffic basically comes to a standstill between 3:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m.

I’ll start with the positives, easy to find, it’s got Wifi, plenty of parking and the customer service is good. The main negative, is the taste & quality of the food is bad. An hour before closing the tomatoes, onions, etc. are dried out. Portions are small which for the price is offensive but if you’re trying to lose weight, may’be it’s a good thing.

Classic Roy Rogers, can’t go wrong with this staple restaurant. With the new road, easy access is a plus to the Ft. Belvoir location.

I love Roy Rogers, but of all the locations I’ve been to, this one is the worst one. The burger meat has gotten smaller. The bathrooms are really grim, full of grime they smell, tiles are cracked. The whole place has drop down ceiling tiles that are covered in stains. The fans are coated in dust. The exterior has broken gutters, so when it is raining it really dumps on you. It’s really too bad because Roy Rogers is a well loved fast food community place in this area.

This review is 2 years in the making since I drive by this location every day due to its proximity with my daily drive. Anyways, I remember getting food here when I moved in the area and there was nothing else really available. I played it safe and got chicken tenders, mashed potatoes, and I think some other side. Let’s just focus on the chicken tenders. They were dried out, hard to chew, and looked like they have been sitting under the warmer for hours(pretty sure this is the case). The mashed potatoes were more like watery potatoes. The food my family had was equally sub-par. The location itself continues to get worse and worse on a weekly basis. There is this ongoing-failure-of-an-attempt construction going on that now is on 3 of the 4 sides of the building. It causes traffic jams everyday. On top of that this location seems to attract tour buses. I feel bad for who is on these buses because someone obviously trolled them into thinking this was ever a «destination». So to sum it up: think bad food combined with bad roads due to construction combined with the weekly tour bus that comes along and makes traffic even worse and you got yourself a good idea of this Roy Rogers. I’d look for the other Roy Rogers location up in the Belle View Shopping Center instead.

This place is not bad. Been there a few times for lunch. Usually get the 2 piece fried chicken. Mac and cheese is always a good side. Get some honey/jam with your biscuit. You’ve got yourself a decent meal. My complaint is that they once ran out of thigh at lunchtime. How does that happen? When you run low on one of the more popular pieces, it means you cook more. Oh well. maybe I’m too idealistic. The food is meh, not amazing, but not bad for a decently priced lunch.

Always clean courteous service. Hands-down the best fast food restaurant in this area. Even when you go there for lunch and they are incredibly busy you get in and out of there in no time.

Having this bring back memory of Roy Rogers and Hardy’s. Little history. Roy Roger’s a big screen cowboy’s show with his wife. It’s was something special and even have all you can eat breakfast. After they when down hill they sold out to McDonald’s an close Roy Roger’s own restaurant. Provitly own Roy’s keep the name and food. Now there only a hand full of Roy’s left and one opening soon. Here my review of this location. I think the chicken ok but with Popeye’s and KFC and put it a step down from two. There hamburgers are very good for a Roy Roger’s. Bisect and Gravy is a water base gravy. They don’t use milk. It’s not the same if you don’t use milk. scramble eggs was cooked on a to hot grill and slitty burn it. potato was good. Coffee ok for a fast food. Being at Fort Belvoir and moving to Springfield to work. I not going to this location. I hope one day I can eat at another Roy’s.

Very dumpy. The only good thing I can say is that if you like to fix your own burger they have a bar. This is not the best, friendliest, or cleanest location. Their bathrooms are pretty nasty too.

This place used to be good and I don’t know what has happened… they cater to alot of tour buses and just don’t care anymore. After the owner died I think has changed. My son and I used to stop here on the way to the ball fields until we couldn’t eat our food on two occasions. The burgers were like hockey pucks and they refunded my money without question but no dinner before practice. We miss you Mr. Todd… if you can’t keep up his old standards then close the doors… my family will never eat here again!

It’s ALL about the Fried Chicken for me! Stereotypes be damned! Roy Rogers will forever hold a place in my heart(and belly) as having the best fried chicken. I love that there are tour buses there, in my opinion it’s a national treasure LOL It’s location is near Fort Belvior off Route 1. Depending on what time you go, traffic can be awful. But that said, it’s Rout 1 and Fort Belvoir at that where a lot of Federal Government employees and Contractors have had to move there over the past year.

Use to be may all time fav place to eat. The ausju(sp) tasted like it was burn’t or had soy sauce in it. The staff is ethnicly mixed(not a problem) that said I think they are cooking from thier country traditions. Will I stop again maybe not .It use to be fabulous.

This place isn’t too bad. Not many around like it use to be. If you like to fix the burger up the way YOU like it, then it’ll turn out great. I think that’s why they don’t have a drive thru window. Btw… Don’t get caught up there around rush hour cause it’s a nightmare. Richmond Hwy in that area is a pain on the A$$ at that time!

I wanted to try Roy Rogers since people had told me it was«so great back in the day». To me, it reminded me of Hardees before they went through their PR makeover. There’s no particular specialty – burgers, fried chicken, roast beef sandwiches. I had the burgers and fries and neither one was particularly great. It just tasted like your run-of-the-mill fast food. On the plus side, they do have a very cool«fixin’s» bar where you can dress your sandwich with a variety of veggies, toppers, and sauces. That was kind of fun. If I had it to do over, I would have gone to the Burger King right down the street.

Since the last time I was here, they have updated a few things inside and it seems they have gotten better. They still have tour buses and the parking can be a slight problem, but the place looks better and the food not as bad as before.
