Saturday night, just shy of a two hour wait for delivery and food shows up cold. I’m not sure ifs it’s just a bad night for them or if it’s always like this but it was disappointing to say the least. The food was okay but nothing to write home about.

This place is great for a low cost meal, with a variety of options. Sushi, chinese, and Japanese cuisine. I enjoy sushi, and they have a great three roll special for under $ 10. But the rolls are incredibly small with hardly any fish. You truly get what you pay for, but for quick meal or a budget dinner out, Ruby is great.

Teeter tottering around 2.5÷3 stars. I haven’t had a large sampling of their menu(which itself has a hodge podge of items inspired by various cuisines — Japanese, Chinese, Indonesian, Thai, Singaporean, Korean), but what I have had is by no means authentic. My most recent meal was delivered. The food came earlier than the quoted time, so for that I’m very grateful. They’ve consistently had great reviews on timeliness and accuracy of their deliveries. I ordered the mango chicken rice dinner set, thinking I was ordering a Thai curry(I’ll take the blame for not reading the menu more carefully). The dinner set came with 2 eggrolls, 4 – 6 pieces of small sushi, white rice, and a chicken and mango stir-fry that was thoroughly dressed with a tangy, sweet and sour-like dressing. Portions were generous indeed. The set came with a mini salad(or miso soup if you wish), which was a nice touch. The chicken was moist and the strips of mango added a great touch of sweetness to the dish. I enjoyed my dinner, but did find the dressing confusing as it wasn’t really Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Thai, etc. The sushi were standard — white rice with cucumber. The eggrolls were surprisingly crispy and not soggy from condensation, with a savory filling of cabbage and possibly carrot. I can’t recall if there was any meat in it. I had the green milk tea boba and asked for reduced sugar. To my dismay, the tea was a powder concoction. I could taste the residual powder that had not completely dissolved into the water, and the drink had a gritty-ness that confirmed that the tea was not freshly made. The boba were not very chewy and just a little stiff, suggesting that it wasn’t in its prime either. I see this place as somewhere to rely on if dinner plans fall through last minute or you’re simply not in the mood to cook and want reliable take-out.

Not my favorite Asian cuisine. The sushi that I got had partially frozen fish and the seaweed salad had way too much fish sauce on it. The eel/avocado/cucumber roll that I had was very good though. The service was good and I really wished I had the room in my stomach to try a boba drink.

Purchased sushi on a Friday night. Delivery was super fast and the food tasted pretty fresh. I was really impressed with delivery. The prices aren’t expensive at all.

I loved it the first few times, since I only had«cooked» rolls(California, Tempura). After the third time, I tried a few rolls with raw fish… BIGMISTAKE! Smells rancid and fishy, and I’ve never vomited before from eating something(until Ruby’s!). Tried it again since my friends and mom love this place, and was met with the same results. Decent enough, just don’t eat the raw stuff!

Delicious! Best sushi place around, hands down. Everything else is great too, but the sushi is what shines at Ruby’s. $ 5 saké as well, you can’t go wrong!

My go-to place for bubble milk tea! My favorites are the green tea bubble milk tea and the original. The food is good quality too, and also priced quite reasonably. The service is quite good with friendly workers.(I once ordered a bubble milk tea and they forgot the bubbles which I was quite disappointed about, but upon asking the waitress apologized and fixed my drink, so all was good!) I also enjoy the décor of the whole place– has a great Asian inspired feel, although it is a bit dimly lit.

I love the food and their prices, but the delivery service is too inconsistent to warrant a better review. Several times over the past 3 years we have been left waiting over 90 minutes for an order that should take no more than 30. Tonight our confirmed time for delivery was 60 minutes, and we have been waiting almost 2 hours. When we called the restaurant to inquire about the order, no one answered the phone. Finally my boyfriend went to the restaurant in person to inquire about our delivery. He just picked up the order in person. It was JUST being finished 1 hour and 45 minutes after the delivery time, we asked for our delivery tip back. I love this place, but be warned about their inconsistent deliveries.

Finally! A place that sells real ramen! The food here is pretty good in general– the location seems smaller than it is, and the décor is a lot better than a lot of the other small Asian places around. You get a good amount of food for the price you’re paying, the staff is lovely, and it’s right down Madison so it’s centrally located and easy to get to! Love this place.

Probably the best place in Albany to get sushi. The price is good and the food is better! The owner is so nice! And loves to talk about his dog Jackie! I

I used to order from Ruby all the time. Their spicy rock shrimp was my favorite thing on the menu and their bento boxes were a great deal! However, the last two times I have ordered and picked up from the restaurant the food has been cold and soggy. In addition, they have recently raised their prices not once, but twice. I can understand a need to raise prices, but if the food quality is decreasing then I can’t stick around. I tend to feel sick after eating their sushi. I don’t think I will be eating here any more, unfortunately.

Food is decent for its price, and it delivers, so that’s a plus. Unfortunately, the portions are kind of small, especially the appetizers.

For the price, the food is very good. Nothing is overwhelmingly salty as are many Chinese restaurants, and the meals were surprisingly filling. The service was amiable as well. We got delivery, and for about $ 35 we had enough meals for two nights. We both ordered smoothies and were surprised to find them still cold when they arrived. They said 30 minutes, but it actually took about 40. The delivery person was very apologetic and nice. I would definitely order again.

Just finished surgery at the VA Albany, and this hit the spot! Best Lo Mein I have EVER had! Everything we ordered was phenomenal. I will be back every time I am in Albany. We ordered our food to go, the portions were great, and food perfectly cooked.

This is a nice place to go for a luncheon or dinner. The restaurant is spacious and comfortable. The wait staff were also polite and attentive. I have eaten here on a few occasions and have always found the food tasty and to my liking. They also offer a really good deal for their bento boxes which are a nice portion of main course, california roll, an appetizer, and white rice. The bento box also comes with your choice of salad or miso soup. Generaly this is what I order here as I like the variety and portion size, just enough to satisfy me for a inexpensive price with no leftovers. They also offer bubble tea which is another bonus.

Ruby Asian Bistro, pleasantly located on Madison Avenue near the College of Saint Rose is a welcome addition to the«College Ghetto». With a nicely adorned and welcoming interior, the restaurant boasts many pan Asian specialties, great lunch specials, sushi, and an array of Sake and Bubble Teas. The lunch«Bento box special», is a steal. Here you get your choice of a range of entrees that come with a healthy scoop of white rice, 2 gyoza, and a California roll. You can then add soup and a beverage for .50 cents each! This is a deal if I ever saw one. Unfortunately, with regards to the food, Ruby falls a little short of my expectations. Wherein the Asian Bistro cooks up many different kinds of Asian cuisine(Chinese, Thai, Malay, Japanese etc.) they just don’t do any of them all that well. My curry was«hot and spicy» as advertised, but after picking out all the hard, little pieces of sticks(bamboo?), I found it to be a little bland. The California roll was warm(having been put into the box with the rest of the food), and the wonton soup was completely forgettable. The food wasn’t bad, it was just sort of reminiscent of your average take-out Chinese shop, save for a few different ingredients thrown into the wok. With all that said; however, give me their Indonesian Curry and a Bubble Tea over your typical Sesame Chicken and a Coke any day.

Serves good bubble tea, however the waiting time is a little long, especially I’m the only customer around lunch time(around 12:00pm).

What a dangerous lunch menu! $ 6 for four dishes in one bento box, and until 3pm! Kevin is awesome in making sure you get what you ordered and the ambiance is stellar for couples or large parties. It’s always spotless and the food is always hot. This is my go-to place when I don’t have time to cook, it’s always delicious! Try the mango chicken, eel, sushi, and pad Thai. I only wish they had brown rice.
