It’s actually«Maggie’s Café & Sports Bar». Very original. But I think I like it — a bit of low life fighting in the parking lot, dirty windows, cheap décor, banners and flat screen TVs and beat up furniture. The bar almost always has a row of regulars with at least one popping quarters into the juke. A few old guys like to hang at the tables near the kitchen reading the paper and sucking on coffee. The food isn’t bad — the wings, extra crispy, are actually pretty good — served with a nice thick blue cheese dressing and celery AND carrots($ 9.99). The Italian choices are worthy of a try(this place used to be just an Italian restaurant before they reinvented themselves, oh, maybe 6 or 7 years ago) — and reasonably priced. I think it’s a good spot for lunch or a very casual night out. The servers are all very, very nice and good at what they do. It’s not a cool spot, but I’m not exactly cool, so it works.(: Zena, Goddess of Fire.

My husband and i stopped by maggies for dinner on Sunday night. We didn’t have much for expectations from the moment we walked in. It was a seat yourself situation. We found a nice booth by the windows. Right away the waitress came by and took our drink order. I ordered unsweetened ice tea with lemon and splenda. The waitress came by the table 3more times before i finally got my splenda and lemons.(lemons weren’t important but the splenda was). I asked her what was popular or something to suggest. She promised everything was delicious but didn’t give any suggestions. She was the ONLY waitress serving the entire restaurant. She was running around like a chicken with head chopped off. We ordered the sampler platter, i asked for the small salad with added chicken, French onion soup and my husband ordered a Philly cheese steak. It must have been at least 20mins until we got the sampler platter. The chicken tenders were clearly frozen tenders, as was the onion rings and mozzarella sticks. The wings were OK, lacked any flavor. The blue cheese was nice and chunky though. The potato skins were smothered in canned nacho cheese and topped with bacon. My French onion soup was OK. Nothing special. My salad came, finally. It was huge. I could tell she upgraded my salad. I even said«wow this is huge» she said«yes well you added chicken so it’s bigger and it’s healthy anyway». Ummm? According to the menu it was $ 2.50 plus the chicken $ 2.99. My husband sandwich was mediocre. His kettle chips were great tho. So… When we got there we mentioned we had a coupon for $ 15 off of $ 30. We get the bill. We were charged $ 5.99 plus $ 2.99 for my salad. plus since we used a coupon they automatically add 20% gratuity! We ended up having to pay $ 38 for a pretty crappy meal. very disappointed. will never return.

I had a turkey dinner, I would say it was not much to talk about much like a cheap meal. Not much gravy, no gravy on potatoes, veggy was in oil. partners french fries were cook on outside but not on inside.

Was there the other night for dinner we had the special. Our server told us it was chicken breast stuffed with ricotta cheese and spinach served with linguine carbonara with a light garlic brown sauce over the chicken. It was to die FOR, something you would expect to get at a gourmet Italian restaurant. Kudos to the chef!!! Can’t wait to go back!

The service was excruciatingly slow. It wasn’t just the wait for the food, it was waiting to be acknowledged before getting a menu, then the long wait before she came back to get the order. Between the salad and the main course was incredibly long, waiting for the check, waiting to fix my incorrect check, she didn’t take my credit card even though I had set it on the table when she came back with my corrected check. She just dropped it on the table and walked away. 15 min later she came back to get the credit card. After that, there was a point I thought about leaving and coming back for the card when I drove by the next day. It was ridiculous. The steak was overcooked, dry and chewy… she never bothered to ask but I wasn’t about to send it back just to wait another hour. I will not be back.

Great food, great service, great prices! Will definitely be back. I had a burger, cooked medium, with bacon and blue cheese. Yum! Fries were hot and tasty. My significant other had the bolognese entrée(which comes with salad and a dinner roll), and the portion was so large, we will both be eating the leftovers for dinner! If you haven’t been, give it a try. I highly recommend the burger.

Eat here often. Don’t relate to any of the poor reviews. GREAT food, reasonable prices, fun atmosphere. Such a family place, everyone is so friendly. Excited for the nice weather to sit on the cute patio.. A+++++ all around.

We went there this afternoon. Once we let the lady know we were going to be ordering lunch outside, it was great. The bartender is great. Didn’t bother us. Read, great pacing. The onion rings are to die for. Burger was yummy and juicy. Fries are really good too. Drinks were never empty and great service. Bringing back the hubby. Thanks

If you don’t feel at home with Maggie you’re having a bad day. The food is excellent. Maggie & Joe are really good hosts.

I called to verify the hours because they are wrong here. When I did the lady hung up on me and my wife and was extremely rude. I don’t care if they gave me the food for free I will not go to a place with this kind of customer service. I am currently trying to get a hold of the GM. I would never allow my employees to act that way

We had a large group for a farewell party on Friday. The bartendar was very nice and the drinks were great. However, she also had to work as waitress — really, on a Friday after work? We all had drinks and appetizers. The spinach artichoke dip was great! The real downside was the price of the drinks — $ 8 for a Cosmopolitan? $ 7 for a glass of white wine? I don’t pay these prices in NYC… However, a good time was had by all and that’s what truly matters.

This is a bar. There are several tables. We received average bar food at this average bar. Decent. Wouldn’t go back, but wouldn’t tell anyone not to go.

Went there last night(11÷20÷13) with my boyfriend and little sister. Slow night but there were some other people dining and a lot at the bar. We were told to choose any table, and were waited on promptly after we got settled. I was a little hesitant, because we had a certificate, that our server would be less than nice. But that was not the case at all. She was wonderful all night and very friendly. Decent beer selection — though none of us got any last night. Instead we gorged ourselves on the sampler platter, chicken tenders, waffle fries, potato salad, and sweet potato fries. So many carbs — all delicious. My only comment would be that the sampler platter was a little small for the price. Everything else was great. Their bleu cheese(homemade, the waitress told us) was reeeaaally good. Drinks were refilled quickly, and service throughout our meal was great. My only pet peeves are that the women’s bathroom near the bar had a light out. So I used the other bathroom, which looked clean, but smelled a little funky(like a wet mop). Also the décor could use a little sprucing, but what do you want for a sports bar? And they do add 18% gratuity when you have a discount — but I don’t blame them. Having worked in the service industry myself, it totally sucks when people don’t «remember» to tip on the pre-discounted bill. Overall, great place to get some beers and bar food. Will be back again.

Only came here since I had a discount from an online site. Horrible bar food and I have no plans to return. The place was practically dead when I went so I had the waitress all to myself pretty much, so the service was acceptable. The décor was sub par which really doesn’t bother me as long as the food is up to snuff. Ordered a burger that tasted like crud off the bottom of their storage room with a hint of bacteria and sick-inducing properties. The waffle fries were of the lowest grade frozen type with the lowest quality cheese and sour cream piled on you could find at Walmart. And the chili was a soupy mess swimming in oil. Needless to say we both left 90% of our food, paid the bill and walked out. I got home and made some real food to wash away the sludge I’d just eaten. The waitress added 18% tip to the check when we submitted our discounted printout. I didn’t argue as I was going to give her 15% anyway, but it’s kind of sleazy to add an 18% tip to the check just because I’m using an online discount and I clearly was not happy with the food having just asked for a check with little eaten.(And I’ve used over 20 online discounted printouts, the type you get from groupon, etc., and never had the tip added for me.) The food just isn’t good, not even as bar food. Maybe the place is good to pickup a local snaggletooth hick at the bar if that’s your thing. Not sure how this place stays in business. But it’s not getting any more of mine.

I work across the street from Maggie’s, and absolutely love to visit on my lunch. There is plenty of space, no worries about not getting a seat. They have free popcorn if you can’t wait until your food arrives, and a good selection of menu options. The wait staff are friendly and the owner, Maggie, has even stopped by my table to chat and make sure everything was perfect. The portions– OHMY. Go hungry! I’ve never finished my whole meal. My personal favorites include the Buffalo Chicken Sub, Cheesesteak, and the Quesadillas. You can upgrade your homemade chips to fries– but the chips are SOGOOD, try them! I go on my lunch break, so I can’t comment on the bar, but there are usually a few people sitting at the bar and they do carry some craft beer. ALSO– you can usually find a coupon for them on LivingSocial or . For whatever reason, they must have trouble bringing in business. I haven’t figured it out yet, but I’ll take $ 10 off my bill any day. Did I mention yet that it is CLEAN? The bathrooms are immaculate, and that’s really saying something. So many great places have horrid restrooms. Maggie’s is a step above. Service is quick and friendly, food is reasonably priced and delicious.

Horrible service. I’ve never experienced a more unwelcoming bar in my life. I walked in for a quick beer on a Thursday evening around 7PM, sat at the near empty bar. Bartender spent first five minutes chatting with friends at other end of bar, then walked right past me without acknowledging I existed and went away for another 5 minutes. When she came back, walked right past me again, didn’t acknowledge I existed, went back to chatting with her friends. I gave her a courtesy 3 more minutes just in case, then I got up and walked out without being served or even acknowledge I existed. Can’t imagine why I would ever walk into this place again, ever.

I used to go here quite often, as a recreational sports league I’m involved with had been doing business with Maggie’s for an after-game hangout. The food is good and the portions are quite generous. There is a decent beer selection on tap(they have a selection of about 8 – 10 beers). The service is rather slow though when it comes to ordering food, which knocks a star off of the rating. Definitely come for the food, and the beer, and the TVs showing sporting events, but expect to wait a long time for said food.

This wasn’t a bad place especially for bar food. Bartender was great, food good, atmosphere ok. I got the fried calamari and Grumpy got the sampler platter. One thing I can say is you get huge portions so plan to share.

My wife expected this place to be awful. Boy was she wrong. It was such a beautiful night, that I wanted to sit outside and eat something simple. Even if that meant sitting in a fake plastic-thatched tiki-hut right off Western Avenue. My only fear was that given the Giant’s training camp, and this place also being a sports bar, the outside patio would be jammed packed on a Saturday night. Well, god knows where the Giant’s fans go, but it certainly wasn’t to Maggie’s. Lucky us. The service was warm and attentive. The food was fine. The beer was cold. And the outside patio was perfect for my season. But back to the food. The portions were gigantic. Everyone could have been served a half portion and left full. Instead I gorged on my eggplant parm sandwich and yam fries. It was all certainly a great value, but personally I’d still prefer less food and lower prices. I realize I’m an outlier. The chicken wings(hot el-fuego style extra-crispy) were very disappointing. The yam fries were only a little disappointing. There was nothing medium-rare about the burgers, but that was probably for the best. The sandwiches were solid. The onion rings were dynamite. The waffle fries were pretty darn good too. Next time, I’m going to try the greens and beans. But I do love places like this. Especially on warm days with cool breezes.
