Excellent food. Call ahead and it’s waiting on the table for you, not a problem getting separate checks either. great for business meetings… parking can be difficult, that’s my only issue. but worth the trip.

I’m in Albany because my mom is very ill and at St Peters across the street. My dad and I had lunch at Andys a couple of days ago. We both had a fish fry and I substituted french onion soup for French fries. My mom had a craving for a fish fry so dad walks across the street to fetch dinner. He ordered two fish fry’s, one without French Fries, a cup of tomato soup and he asked for tartar sauce, and malt vinegar if they had any. Said food arrives in my moms hospital room and when I opened the containers, neither fish fry was on a bun. Wth? Then I noticed a shiny«bubble» on one of them. I touch it and it had a weird consistency. I pulled off some of the breading and found that the entire filet was wrapped in plastic wrap, the dipped in breading and fried. This rendered this order of fish inedible. The 2nd order did not appear to be covered in plastic. The orders came with cocktail sauce, but the tartar sauce was no where to be found. Both orders had fries, but neither had a bun. We were starved but we won’t be getting any orders to go from Andys. I’d have called and voiced our dissatisfaction but my dad said it was so loud in there I figured they wouldn’t be able to hear me and I’m not going to raise my volume in a hospital room. Seems that take out is not the way to go here…

Andy’s place us to be my joint of choice when i worked in St. Peters Hospital, the Service was great the place was always full with people. I recently went there for a beer and a bite to eat, but the bartenders were to busy flirting with the male costumers i ask for a menu many time i never got one, my beer glass was empty for like 3 min and no one ask me of i wanted another, when i finally got the girl at the bar to look at me i just wanted my check. I will never go back there.

Great food, great atmosphere, great staff. By far one of the best places to go for a bite, a beer, and the game.

I stopped in to have lunch with coworkers and was pleasantly surprised; I had a cheeseburger and it was very good! I will definitely be back the next time I’m in the area.

Are you looking for really good bar food? Look no further than Andy’s on New Scottland Ave. While the décor is typical sports bar(flat screen TV’s filling every available space, electronic dart board…) what sets Andy’s apart from most sports themed establishments is the QUALITY of food and the friendliness of the staff. I am greeted with a smile every time I walk through the door! Having consumed my fair share of burgers in 44+ years on this planet, I would have to say that I would put Andy’s bacon cheeseburger up against any burger in the country! And YES that includes Prime 16& Louis’ Lunch in New Haven Conn. I’m not sure where Andy gets his meat but it is definitly NOT from Sysco. The burger is hand formed, charbroiled juicy goodness that comes on a toasted buttered roll, lettuce, tomato, onion slice, macaronni salad and a pickle spear complete the order and the whole thing is under $ 10! Hungry for a club sandwich? The Traditional Club comes with roast beef, ham, turkey AND bacon! This is a monster sandwich that even my construction worker frinds have a hard time finishing! I would highly recommend Andy’s Place for great take out bar food(not being a drinker I can’t speak to the selection of beers ect…)

Amazing happy hour from 3 – 7! The girl serving us was brand new so had no idea what was going on but she was nice and did her best. Pleasant atmosphere. It’s a «towny bar@ but the people were chill, the music was good too! I’d say go back for sure.

We live near here and occasionally stop by for a beer or two and a game of darts. The staff is incredibly friendly and the food is very good, in my opinion. The menu is quite large, you can get typical bar food — sandwiches, pizza, chicken wings, salads, wraps, etc. But all that we’ve ordered has been quite tasty. They have specials every night of the week as well. Occasionally, service is a bit slow. For instance, the bartender would take our order and then seem to forget about us because she is serving other customers at the bar. The ambiance is not bad, however, there seems to be a lot of regulars who kind of take over the bar area from time to time.

Came here for a bite to eat for dinner. My mother in law and I both order burgers to go. The bar tender that took our order was a spaz. While we were waiting I noticed a small spider crawling across the bar. The bar tender was happy that I killed it. She freaked out a bit too much over a little tiny spider. I was quite happy when the food was ready to get the hell out of there because her voice was annoying the crap out of me. Took our food across the street at St Peter’s to eat and the burger was pretty darn good. Great flavor, you can actually taste it was cooked on a grill. Another plus was they grill their burger rolls, love that! The fries was good too. I didn’t try the mac salad but my mother in law seemed to like it. Although the burger was good, I wouldn’t make any special trips to go out of my way to come back here.

I’ve only been for lunch and I was amazed at how good the club sandwich was. Really good. I’ll have to go back…

Thursday evening, 6:10 p.m. Scene: a red faced overweight man in his mid twenties is outside a bar talking on his cell phone. a woman who may or may not be drunk looks on from nearby. Man(into phone): I’m sorry, I’m not usually like this, but I’ve been drinking since one thirty. The man listens to loud talking on the other end of the phone call Man(into phone): I’m sorry, but I’ve been drinking since one thirty. end scene. Mind you, there is no major sporting event, there is no holiday. just a regular thursday afternoon at Andy’s Place. It seems their customers are the type of people who think that being drunk is a perfectly good and reasonable excuse for irresponsible behavior. Me, I would have gone for, «I’m terribly sorry, I’m a little foggy with the flu» or «I’m having a bit of trouble because I just took some prescription cold medicine». But I had heard good things about their wings, and dammit I was not going to be thwarted this time. Everyone was drinking in there. A guy pulled up beside me and ordered a double jack and coke(it came in a pint glass). He downed it and was gone before I even noticed. The bartender was drinking. The chef was drinking, and seemed to be on a multi-day bender by the looks of him. Me. Not drinking. I had an iced tea that was reasonably good. Ordered wings, extra-hot extra-crispy. Crispy they were. Hot, not so much. Meaty? Again, not so much. Surprisingly good flavor though. And the crispiness was really incredible. There are parts of the wings where sometimes the tendon’s are exposed. And these were fried so well, that those tendons crisped up and were delicious. But the wings were pretty dry, and I do like them wet. Maybe that’s my fault, and in the future, I should make a point of ordering wings extra-wet. The flavor of the wings was quite good though. The service, no so much. It did seem that if you were a regular, you were treated well. And I was not treated badly, it was just very difficult for me to get a refill on my tea and pay my tab when it was time to leave. Oh, and the music was loud and awful. But awful is just a matter of taste. You might like that Avril Lavigne. On the plus side, they say they do not use trans fats.
