The food was excellent and it had a great beer selection! Service was very good as well. It was also very clean.

Ehh, it was so much better back in the old days (Tessssss!!!). Average in every way. It has lost all of its charm and character, replaced by a refurbished interior, and a less than welcoming staff. They are better places very close by. To bad — lark tavern used to be a great place.

I love Lark Tavern. Taylor is sooo nice. It was good to see her after such a long while. I had fried risotto, it was delicious as always. I just want to say that Lark has the delicious «Pumpking» beer on tap. Did I mention they have Pumpking when you CAN’T get it anywhere else??? How cool is that!!! Lo’s favorite place to hang out, hands down.

I’m not happy with the food and the staff could be more professional. It feels more like a clubhouse than a place for adults. Not impressed at all with the service. We sat outside and the bartender was too busy socializing to bring us any food or drinks. We essentially waited on ourselves. Not impressed will not be back. This is the 3^rd time I gave this place a try. Never again. Taking my crew with me. We will not be wasting our time or money there anymore.

Ordered hot wings and sliced sirloin sandwich. Both were delicious. I must say that the wings were the best I’ve had in a while .Our waitress was super friendly and sweet. She was the only one serving and did an amazing job with a busy bar /​dining room.

Wow! What a horrible experience this evening. We went to get the «best burger in Albany» and are still in search of it. While we waited for the third member of our party we ordered beer at the bar. The bartender couldn’t even read the name written on the tap (yes we could see the names on the bar side reflected in the mirror specifically written for the bartenders benefit). We told her we would be eating and would be sitting outside, yet I still had to go back in, wait several minutes to get her attention, and ask if anyone was going to serve us. There were only a few customers, so the two bartenders were not overwhelmed. The girl brought out plates for our appetizers, which while thoughtful would have been better appreciated if they were A) clean and B) if we ordered appetizers to put on the dirty plates. Two of us ordered «the best burgers in Albany» cooked medium and were given burgers so overcooked they were dry and dark grey in the middle Tasteless. She never checked on us to see if we were satisfied with our burgers. After about 10 minutes, my husband went into the bar to let her know they were inedible. She did apologize and offered to send out new burgers or comp the burgers which we chose. Then she tried to charge me for the beer that I paid for at the bar when we first went in. Would not recommend the Lark Tavern to anyone. The food was bad and the service quite poor.

Interesting crowd, ranging from average people to ‘Wow, how is that chick still standing upright?’ Prices were fair, staff were pleasant. I live in the woods. The city makes me edgy. Overall, decent experience.

Bartender is sweet but flaky. Never asked how our food was. No Bloody Mary mix. Almost ten minutes after we ordered I found out they didn’t have corned beef for a Reuben. Food came out 5 minutes after, quick! Chips were good but needed seasoning. Quesadilla was huge wrap was good. Nothing special here. Music is horrible !!!

Great service, quick and effective.
I had to get the burgers since they won the burger challenge. But I wasn’t impressed.
I ordered the blue burger that comes with caramelized onions an crumbled bleu cheese for $ 8.99 and chips. I ordered it medium and they did that very well but I don’t think the meat was at all that much flavorful and was dry and not at all juicy. Could have used a little more onions and blue cheese as well and maybe little more something like bacon on it.
I got my son a bbq bacon burger and paid extra to get hm fries.
Will have to go back and try more appetizers on a weekday for happy hour for half price apps.

One of my favorite places in Albany. A solid happy hour and food selection with an overall good atmosphere.

I had awful service in this place. It took over 30 minutes for the bar tenders to even acknowledge that I had been waiting at the bar forever, and when they finally decided to serve me, they gave me nothing but attitude. Not to mention, beers are served in a plastic cup! Wouldn’t go back.

Wings were cold twice and service was crappy. Asked for ranch and waited an extra 5 minutes and my wings got cold again.

Good music great staff huge burgers and amazing quesadilla!!! Good price! I have no idea why I have never eaten here before! We will be back!

Music is terrible and blaring. The bar is often full of Albany’s lamest douchebags. Probably the worst bar in the Center Square neighborhood.

The interior and thoroughly depressing locals that frequent this place may scare you away… but the cheap beer and GREAT wings and classic locale are worth a dinner spot. Better in summer when you can sit outside and avoid those crusty parochial inbreds that cling to their barstools.

Good old Lark tavern. I had some really great memories here when I was in Albany, In fact I remember this was the first place that my roommates and I went to when we celebrated being in Albany together. It was exciting time that I won’t forget. This place has a charm about it that other bars just don’t have.
This place has live music (some bands are better than others, and sometimes the music is too loud.) The food isn’t bad, they have anything from pastas to burgers to salads. Good variety of items, fairly priced for what you’re getting.
I do have to say that the cocktail menu is fantastic, there was a creamsicle drink that I used to get and I haven’t gotten anything close to that anywhere else.
Anyways it was a fun experience looking back, give this place a try. You’ll at least have some fun.

I loved Lark Tavern back when Tess ran it. Went to the new LT to see my friend’s band perform. I have to admit, I had high hopes.
The new Lark Tavern has a decent draft list and a check on the bar revealed plenty of good stuff. Ordered a Brooklyn chocolate stout (which is great this year!) and was handed a clear plastic cup that must have been an 8oz pour but was charged $ 7 when a full pint would be more like $ 5 or $ 6 at any other bar. It’s a cardinal sin to charge full price on a craft beer for what is so obviously not a pint. And the flimsy plastic cup? Not even meeting bare minimum standards.

Came here for some Monday night football and was really surprised with how few people there were inside. I mean, granted it’s a school night… but really. The bartender told us that there was trivia going on in the back, but there may have only been one team playing by the looks of the front of the bar.
There are a few nice tvs playing all different sports games. That’s great for when one person in your party wants to watch baseball, or something. Also, nice ledges next to the bar table to set your massive oversized purse on.
Food was reasonably priced. Drinks were a little weak for $ 8. You are a hole-​in-​the-​wall bar in Albany. Honestly.

The extent of my familiarity with Lark Tavern ends at $ 1 off wines on Fridays. And mind you, these wine glasses are like goblets from the medieval times.
The bar tender was fast and efficient. Sometimes that’s all you need after an especially long day.
