One of the worst experiences in a hotel I have ever had. A friend of mine and former neighbor from when I lived in Green is in Barberton Hspt and my wife and I drove up to visit with here. As such, not as much planning as normal in selecting and planning accomodations and restaurants and as far as accomodations, I got burned. Drove up and sitting in the Hospital, started to look up hotels in the Green/Portage Lakes/Barberton and Value Place jumped out. Entered into a couple of websites the arrival dates of Fer 20 and depature of Feb 21 and came up with a rate of $ 50. Granted at $ 50, didn’t expect a four star hotel but rather just a basic facility. Most hotels have now started to try and cut out third party booking by Expedia, Hotels.Com, TripAdvisor but eliminating AAA or AARP eligibility when booking with them so I’ve started booking directly with the hotel. Tried it this time and should have told them to forget it after the first couple of minutes. The $ 50 rate per night is only if I book for a week. Remember I entered specific information which specified only one night and got a quote of $ 50. Ended up since it was for only one night, the rate was around $ 85 and with tax, $ 97.95. The booking rate was also suppose to include free wifi but again another bait and switch. When you log in, you’re told you have to pay $ 3.00 per night for WiFi Service. Called the desk and was told that the free Wifi was only if I booked for an entire week but if I would go ahead and sign in and check the $ 3.00 rate, he would give me a credit for same. Just checked my credit card and no credit is there. Now as far as the accomodations, not designed for the casual traveler. Our room had a refrigerator with empty ice cube trays. Place does not have an ice maker and who wants to wait around for ice to freeze to cool your drink. Beds are more institutional with wire frames as opposed to box spring. Not very comfortable. Not a requirement but coffee maker in the room would be nice. Because of the nature of our visit, creature comfort was not the highest priority but at $ 97.95, there were a lot of other nicer chains offering more ammenities so it’s not a good value either despite what the name implies. Would suggest any traveler not make my mistake and go ahead and research the other hotels in the area and if they start changing the game plane in booking, run for cover because otherwise, you will not like the results.

Bad A majority of the residence I encountered were either tweaking on some sort of drug or wandering around very suspiciously. Somehow this place attracts a lot of scum in the area despite it being more expensive than rent. There was a old guy above me that was making a lot sounds so I went up to ask him to stop. When he opened the door I saw a meth pipe near his door. He then began to stomp and run back and forth the entire night in his room like a mad man. Room 307 I believe on 11÷27÷15 if any officers want to sting him for drugs. Good Besides the uneasy feeling of the residences there are some hard working out of town workers that were pretty friendly. The staff was friendly and the rooms were awesome. Nice clean little studio with a awesome cooking area. Unfortunately due to other people I will not be returning.

Staff are very rude, they check your room when you are not there and they will give you $ 50 fee if you didn’t throw the trash, WTF? I’m never coming here again
