Hampton Inn

They miss the little things which make an average hotel great.
All in all, it was a very nice hotel. Rooms were comfortable and except of some kids running up and down the hallway the second night which stopped at bed time, very quite.
Still there were a lot of little things that were not right and should have been on management radar to correct that slipped through that proved to be an irritant.
First of all was the Wifi. When we checked in, they gave us the password needed to log on. First wifi that shows up is the Hilton Wifi which is the one you would expect. Connecting to it, there is no way to go to the log on screen and connect.
Next day we found out from the first desk, that the Hilton Wifi did not work even though it is the first to show up. You had to go the the ATT Wifi and log in from there. No one told us and from conversations with other hotel guests, they were not told either.
Second is housekeeping and this was my wife’s pet peeve. When we checked in, the toilet paper was low but no problem because housekeeping would take care of it in the morning. Logical assumption but did not occur and had to go to the desk and ask for an additional roll of paper.
Inconsistent on towels and wash cloths. Towels were replaced after the first day but wash cloths were not. Ice bucket was left with melted ice and not all of the trash cans were empted.
Very inconsistent.
All in all again, the room was comfortable and that is basically what you are looking for in a hotel room but could have been a nicer stay with a bit more attention to details and better communication from the staff.

Reasonable price, awesome rooms, wonderful amenities, pretty good HOT breakfast (I can’t do bagels in a bag), and fantastic staff. This was home away from home for a few days while my son had then recovered from surgery. It FELT like home. Snack bar is a little pricey but we paid for convenience (and that’s why it’s there). Pool is a little chilly but my kids certainly didn’t complain and I can’t either. The front desk lady even escorted the pizza delivery guy back to the pool so he could bring food right to us after a 6 hour drive and I didn’t need to watch the door. This hotel has the SLOWWWWWEST elevators on the planet but that’s literally the only thing I can find to «complain» about. I travel to Akron often and will be exclusively staying here from now on. Never stayed here pre-​renovation but assumed the building was new construction until I came to Unilocal and found it was renovated. It’s beautiful! I can’t recommend this hotel enough.

This is a great hotel front desk people are great too. Nice and quiet. And I would have to stay one of the best breakfast I have had for a hotel. And super nice breakfast women too.

This hotel is under a whole lotta renovations right now, so I don’t feel like I can accurately rate this hotel. My mom and I stayed here for a night and it was as pleasant as a half constructed hotel could be. The front desk people were all very kind and helped us with our concierge needs. The remodeled room was actually very nice looking and comfy. I feel like this hotel will be really nice once it’s done, but for now, it still needs a bit of work.

Well this place may be nicer once the remodel is done. The place is pretty loud but that is understandable. I hope they remodel the heating unit because it was so loud I had to turn it off. The walls and floor are a tad thin so you can hear your neighbors coughing or walking in high heel shoes. Otherwise this is not a bad place to stay.

I usually like to stay at Hampton Inns and most of them are quite nice. This one, however, not so much. I can’t call it bad, but I can’t call it good. The room is subpar, old carpet, old furniture, ancient heater/​air. The door does not fit right. The bathroom is a stark, uninspired white cell. There are two pictures in the room, one is hung up near the ceiling…(is it covering something?) and the other is hung so low over the desk that it partially blocks the only outlet. The newer Hampton’s are a fortress of solitude as far as quiet goes, this one telegraphs door slamming the length of the building.
