To begin with, I had high hopes walking in for my FIRSTEVER pedicure. I selected this location because I was willing to pay a little more for a great pampering experience with a good ambiance. My mom and I initially liked the look of the salon. We were greeted by a nice receptionist, but the nail professionals did not greet us or talk to us in any way.(icy) Once we were in the pedicure room we felt a bit ignored. The nail professionals finally came in and told us about the massage option on the chair and that we could soak our feet. both my mom and I were surprised at the tepid temperature of the water. Since, we were left in the room alone again, we decided to warm up our own water… after all we know how to use a sink. The sound of the running water was all it took to get the two technicians back in the room, both wearing non-plussed expressions! We told them the water was cold, and they made no apologies or comments. On to the pedicure. Well, it was very blah and not very thorough. We were not asked if we wanted a specific type of pedicure, as they offer several types. They just started. My mom was given a leg rub, I was not. Mind you, I am not hard to please. We paid for a service and along with that comes the expectation that you will feel welcome in the facility. This was not the case at ATIR. When the pedicure was over and our nails were drying, the technicians just left the room. No «how was your FIRST pedicure?» They didn’t ever return… I think the receptionist came back in. I wish I had read the comments from other customers on Unilocal before I came here. They were right on target. I won’t waste my money here again.

I found this place via their website, and I had really high hopes. I called when they opened to see about an appointment and was told I could come in right now or later this afternoon. So I happily went in right away. I arrived, was checked in, picked out my color. There was the casual hello, but nothing about welcoming a first time customer, no offer of icy cold lemon water that was sitting in the pitcher, certainly no warm neck wrap like their website shows. If you are going to charge $ 50 for a pedicure, these are some of the little things that should be done automatically. The receptionist did ask me if the water was a good temperature after telling me which chair to sit in and put my feet in. My technician came in and barely said anything to me — she didn’t introduce herself nor did she ask me which pedicure I was having done. Her work was not bad, there was just not much to it. She scrubbed my feet, did barely any filing or shaping, no cuticle oil or push back, not much grooming, and not one remark about the bruised toenail I have been battling. Usually when I have had this, other places have at the very least asked if they should handle the bruised nail or just paint it. Anyway, she slathered on a thick lotion without much massage to my feet and nothing to my lower legs, bagged me up & put on the heating pad. She did talk to me enough to confirm my polish color and to ask me if I needed disposable flip flops before painting my nails. She mentioned sitting there for a few minutes to allow drying, and not a single person came in to see how I was drying or if I needed anything. When I went out to pay, I just made my way to the receptionist, fielding no questions about how my experience was. The receptionist did invite me to sign up for email notifications, which I did, but now that I have had time to think about everything, those notifications won’t matter much. I did tip my technician, and she was gracious about that. Overall, this salon was clean and bright, but lacked quite significantly in the quality of care provided as well as customer service. I have been to much less expensive places and have had better pedicures. I was not impressed at all and will not be returning

I had not been to Atir for quite some time and wanted to get natural care for my hands which are overused and abused in my work. I like the quality of the products they use so decided to return at a «quiet» time of day and got a morning appt. Two employees assisted me with the service I requested. I had memories of what I liked in visits past but there was no pampering for me today. No «would you like some tea?» «Can we clean your rings during your manicure?» «Would you like a warm relaxing neck wrap?» I can’t wear polish and they used to buff my nails so well they looked like I had clear coat on — but I asked about that too and got a lukewarm response. All these little touches that made it memorable enough for me to return exist no more(unless you know about them and continually ask for them) made me feel like another customer they couldn’t wait to get out the door. I will not be returning.

I want to give at least one more start because I have had good experiences here, but after being a sporadic customer for five years, I will not return here. I went in around 4:30 on a Friday. The website says that Atir is open until 6:00PM and takes walk-ins, so I figured that an hour and a half should be sufficient. The receptionist told me and my mom that they could not take us, and in fact closed at 5:00PM. As my mom and I walked out, I noticed that their sign reflected the same hours as the website: Friday’s until 6:00PM. Thinking that maybe they changed their hours and forgot to make the change to the sign, my mom poked her head in and politely let them know. The owner, who was getting her nails done, turned to my mom and responded with a curt«thanks.» I like to give the benefit of the doubt and say maybe something was off today, but regardless this is no way to treat customers. We will not be returning.

Had a terrible experience at Atir — to put it briefly: 1) the owner was extremely rude 2) they had a 9th grade girl in there doing manicures! Prices are quite high in this salon and I would expect to have expert service — not a ninth grader!!!(I must say she was a friendly and sweet girl so not her fault — more just poor judgment on the part of the management. I will not be returning. After leaving the salon I read the 46 «unrecommended» reviews listed here. Wish I had read all of those first and would have chosen another salon.

I’d been holding on to a gift card since Christmas and finally decided to go in. I read all the reviews last night before coming and still went for my Signature Pedicure. The results… meh. It’s a «natural» spa so maybe there’s a reason why I still own the big calluses on the side of each big toe, where other places remove them completely. Maybe there’s a «natural» reason why they don’t address cuticles or clean the crevices on each side of the toe nails. My girl was very nice and she evened out the toe nail I broke when I stubbed my toe three weeks ago. The massage I got was amazing !! But I think I like the more in depth service I get from my other place. My toes look pretty nonetheless, but in spite of the warm cozy spa atmosphere(that smelled phenomenal) I found the workers… indifferent. I wasn’t expecting red carpets rolled out or anything but i think that maybe from a customer service perspective they should have tried harder to get this first time gift card customer to become a repeat paying customer. I drove 45 minutes to get here. I grew up in Acton. My parents still live here, and I will drive any distance for great service. But it was just not the«experience» I expected.

I purchased a gift card here and found out after getting my credit card statement that they added a $ 2.50 fee for it — who does that?! Never again. Went once and while it’s nice, it’s a hard product sell the whole time and VERY overpriced for what it is.

If you are looking for a Spa to help you take care of your nails and ensure you have the knowledge to keep them looking and feeling healthy then Atir is the place to go. It’s not your basic«manicure» shop. It’s an incredibly professional and top knotch Spa that will take the time to ensure your nails look 100% before walking out the door and make you want to come back for more ! The location is clean, open and inviting. The staff is remarkably helpful and friendly. Hands down(pun intended) this is the place you want to come to time and again to get your nails or toes done.

This place is by my work and when I became engaged, I decided to get my nails done before the party my parents were hosting for us. This place was bright and airy inside. However, it took over 2 hours to do just my nails! Thank goodness I didn’t ask for a pedicure as well. I don’t know where these ladies are from but no one has a 2 hour lunch. You sit at a bar-type structure and different people do various things — it isn’t one person the whole time. They did look great afterwards but it was just a French manicure — not some crazy design or anything. I got very antsy and while I liked the idea of all natural, I will not be back because I will never have enough time to waste getting my nails done.

If you’re looking for a relaxing spa experience, or maybe an inexpensive place to get your nails done, than Atir is not for you. If you’re looking for a nail cult with people telling you everything you’re doing wrong and why they’re better — than you better run to the phone and make an appointment here! I find their practice to be insulting. The whole appointment is literally a lecture on nail care, mostly pointing out how horrible you treat your nails. It’s also a game of musical chairs, as the staff switches clients left and right and flips these little cards to say what step they’re on. There is one woman there who was just totally rude and looked down(or up, since she had to stand on a stool) at me like I wasn’t good enough to be getting my nails done there. The pedicures are better, as they don’t lecture, they just let you relax. I actually had a really great pedicure, but with the way I was treated by the remaining employees there I would never go back again. Just be warned if you make an appointment that this isn’t your standard nail salon…
