With such a good location you’d expect this to be a really good Starbucks, but honestly, it’s too small and quite noisy. Also, on a few of the occasions I’ve been there, homeless people were sitting where customers are supposed to sit — whilst it’s of course nice for the homeless people to sit down, it IS reserved for paying costumes, and I don’t really understand why they didn’t throw them away when there were no more seats available. Oh well. The drinks and everything are just as good quality as all other Starbucks places! However I’ve noticed that the menu differs a little from place to place. This Starbucks for instance didn’t have kids’ hot chocolate last time I was there. It’s a bit disappointing! Also as said before, the place is sometimes quite noisy, but I guess that’s expected when it’s in a train station. All in all, if you just want something to drink/eat, hell yeah, go in here. But if you wanna sit and chat and have a nice time, I’d advice you to go to the one near Strøget.

Had some ice chilled raspberry and blackcurrant juice, It was pretty good. It’s expensive and yea it wouldn’t be my first priority either but it’s pretty nice here. I ended up staying here for around 2 hours while waiting for some friends to come to Copenhagen. And the free WiFi is great to, there are normally power outlets too, but I was unable to find them.

What can I say that hasn’t been said about Starbucks? They’re an evil corporation, ruled by evil overlords, bent on world domination through addiction. But I love them. All joking aside. There is a reason that Starbucks is good at what they do. Because they have a good staff that actually cares about what they do. The management care for the staff, and it shows. I wish the pricing was a bit better, but that’s what happens when the coffee growers, processers, packagers all make a liveable wage. Plus, this Starbucks in in Denmark. So the prices are going to be higher.

Finally, a decent coffee at the Central Station. I think Copenhagen Central station needs to be jazzed up a little bit compared to many central station in Europe. Even that in Oslo is almost a shopping mall, very modern and with lots of café and restaurant and shops(especially supermarkets!). Starbucks is expensive as always(here in Denmark) but at least you get an option here compared to Café Ritazza — while they’re not bad, we need alternatives. Service was quick last time I was there to grab a holiday flavoured coffee(ahem, I meant gingerbread latte) although the sitting area isn’t as comfortable as let’s say most Starbucks in Europe. I think the café could use a little bit of decoration and plush sofa, but this is Copenhagen where cool things happen slowly — but at least they’re happening. Cheers for better coffee in town. And please, their coffee(especially espresso) is the only one that could hold me awake. None of other coffee chain in Copenhagen could.

The evil has landed! I almost became proud of my fellow Danes a few years back when I read that Starbucks had a surpprizingly hard time getting past Copenhagen Airport. Unlike in other places around the world and beyond it, Copenhageners(not Danes in general, already 3 of them in my modestly sized hometown of Aalborg) were resistant to the whole idea of concept standard coffee and hazelnut syrup smothered all over the place, and decisions, choices, electives, and feeling good about yourself for a while because your coffee is fair traded. And above all, the giving away your so intimate name on top of the already expensive coffee. The only thing I like about Starbucks is the guaranteed wifi all over the world, great for travellers and a good source of income because you get even haters like me to go in there. But that crashed for me a while back in Starbucks in a Spanish airport where they had never heard of such a worldwide guarantee. This one at the central station of Copenhagen is no exception, service is not even fast, because as is verrrry commonplace in this city, the guys and girls behind the bar are more concerned with eachother’s latest and upcoming weekends than with the client. Who is of course busy because it’s a train station. Too busy to say his name even!

Standard starbucks, which smells of coffee and brings in the local tourists and crowd. One thing that is different about this one, is the Parisian style front they have created. You can set at small tables on small chairs and watch the foot traffic for the main trainstation in Copenhagen pass by. It is really cool and even worth a standard cup of SBucks.
