Food is not anything we imagined«Italian food». Instead the chef is very creative and imaginary. The five course menu includes a one cold appetizer, one soup, two small size hot dishes and a dessert, all come with beautiful presentation! However, today the chef must madly in love: all dishes are so salty!!! The pastry chef was also trying to be creative but one of the desserts that claims to have rhubarb is somewhat tasteless!

I was recommended Spuntino from a fellow Unilocaler. The restaurant is really cosy and have a really nice ambiance. I went here wth my boyfriend and two of our friends. Surprisingly, they only had set manues, which was quite ordinary, but fun. We got too choose 5 dishes and two choices on each meal. As an additional entrée, we got a cream cheeseish thing that was quite awful. As first dish three of us had the octopus and fennel and one of us had the scallops. The scallops was quite boring but the octopus was very nice with interesting falvours, however the presentation lacked any sense of artistery, common, a white blob with no colour… after the first dish we then had polenta with taleggio and mushroom. Very delicious and nice presented. As a third dish I had the veal carpaccio, which was very nice and contained all necessary ingridiens for a carpaccio… but…it was warm. not cooked but 37 degrees warm… no way to serve raw meat. As the fourth dish I had the fish, perch(kulmule). Very nice and tasted really good. As the fifth and last course I had the apple sorbet with liqurize pannacotta and hazelnut cake-extremely good cominations in flavours and definately the best dish of the meal. A minus for only serving Carlsberg beer thoug. All in all I am quite happy with Spuntino and you get a fantastic experience for the money but I would rather go for safe dishes and avoid fancy ingridiens if you can’t afford to put the effort in cooking them as they should be cooked.

The concept at Spuntino is simple, yet sophisticated. You pay a fixed price(DKK275 in September 2014) for a 5 course meal where every course has 2 choices. We arrived for our reservation at 8 pm, but had to wait almost 5 minutes before we were seated. Not because there weren’t any tables, but because they were quite busy with all the guests. After being seated we had to wait for some 10 more minuntes until we even got the menu. I thought a good trick if you’re busy is to keep the guests occupied with the menu… The seemingly newbie waiter was on his way to a neighboring table when another waiter abruptly pulled him back and pointed in our direction: «They came first!» which was kind of funny even for someone who has his humour temporarily disabled by hunger. When we finally got to order, the service was very friendly. The waiter, obviously being a newbie, just shrugged when I asked for wine recommendations to the dishes we were ordering. With so few dishes on the menu it shouldn’t be too difficult to memorize at least a few alternatives — or being professional enough to ask a colleague. In any case it didn’t take long until we had bread, water and wine on the table together with a complimentary bonus dish. After that it went smooth except for one of the dishes which was swapped with another table. From a culinary perspective, it was a great dinner. I will definitely try to go back for the food if I’m in Copenhagen again, but to deserve a higher rating the service really has to improve: Being an Italian restaurant Spuntino lacks the Italian kind of service which is both hospitable and professional at the same time.

I have to say I was a bit sceptical about Sputino as my experience with the Cofoco-chain isn’t necessarily always a blissful voyage. But Sputino turned out to be a great place to pop by for some easy-going food, cosy atmosphere and good service. Would I say the food is all that? It’s not worth travelling for, but for a local joint it’s quite decent and tasty, and compared to the price an absolute steal. 9pm and feeling snacky — and having recently visited wineries inPiedmont — my friend and I were nostalgic for an Italian wine-food adventure and decided for Sputino. We ordered the 10 course tasting for one to share — and boy, for a menu for one you sure get plenty of food to satisfy two people! And since we weren’t that hungry to start with we could have gone home with a decent doggy bag as well. The 10 courses were basically salmon tatar(best dish on the menu, in lemon juice, ginger and great olive oil), an ok goat cheese/grilled pepper on white bread, steamed mussels(a funky taste and a tad too fishy, but ok), a good bastardo di grappa at the right room temperature, al dente beets but in no way extraordinary, fried green chard in balsamic with pecorino offering an amazing fresh tart taste, a large slice of ham sausage with gorgeous herbs(unfortunately a bit too greasy for my taste), good flavoured but a bit too rubbery charcoal grilled squid, San Daniele ham(goes without explanation), a balanced and nice raspberry sorbet with chocolate/Nutella cream. As for wine, we were offered a glass of prosecco to begin with and decided to stick with that — it was a good choice! It’s more ‘the girl next door’ than Angelina Jolie, but living quite close by I’m sure I’ll come back. I’d give the food a 3 – 3.5, but the whole experience was so nice and cosy that I’ll be generous and hand over a 4 star review for great service(thanks for that!) and an overall good experience.
