As we walked by, a young girl was unlocking the door & invited us in for breakfast. The tables were set & they were ready for business. The eggs, bacon and bread were all great. Our server was energetic & friendly. As an added bonus, a canal packed with boats is in front. Located in Copenhagen.

We stopped in here on a blustery December afternoon. The staff was very friendly and atmosphere warm. The food — fish and chips as well as traditional Danish dishes — hit the spot. The Glögg was great. It wasn’t cheap but I’d recommend it.

We returned to Nyhavn for dinner after trying another restaurant on this strip the night before. We chose to dine at Hyttefadet because of the fun and relaxed ambiance. Everyone there seemed to be relaxed and having a great time. We ordered some drinks while waiting for our entrees and enjoyed them while people watching. our entrees were very satisfying. The portion sizes were obviously more generous than the other restaurant we had tried at Nyhavn. Overall, we enjoyed ourselves greatly. Great little spot.

My family and I try to stop in here whenever we are in Copenhagen. We love the Danish sandwiches, the goulash, and a cold drink. Their service is prompt, the prices are reasonable, and the food good. If you like Danish sandwiches, try the shrimp or potato open face sandwich, very very good. Our other favorites are the hearty goulash soup which my son loves, and their fish and chips with a creamy tartar sauce. It is a small place in Nyhaven, but good when you are trying to decide between all the other places to spend your money. Definitely recommended.

Hyttefadet seemed well located, welcoming and well priced. Monday afternoon(1st May bank holiday in the UK) before taking off for Kastrup airport on our maiden weekend in Copenhagen, we had our last smørrebrød at this Nyhavn pub. The service was fairly prompt and efficient, and the food was on our table in less than ten minutes. The portions(including the smørrebrød) were fairly generous and although the food wasn’t exactly super cheap — the portion sizes kind of justified the price. Being late afternoon, they had one slice of apple pie and one piece of chocolate cake. I went for the former, and it was OK. If lunch was anything to go by — I’d say average food, great location, good service.
