Cofoco was my first taste of Nordic new cuisine and what a lovely introduction. The staff graciously accommodated my companion and I after we walked in even though the kitchen was getting ready to close. At amazingly fresh fish and seafood with things like juniper and chervil and shaved cauliflower and beets and radishes and roe. Highly recommend.

I had been curious to try this restaurant since I first read about it. On my first visit to Copenhagen, I was unable to get in without a reservation. So, this time around I booked a table. When I arrived for a 9:00pm reservation, I found the room to be a bit warm and I realized that everyone around me appeared to be around the age of 60 and rather conservatively dressed. I definitely felt a bit out of place. The food was very good but everything felt a bit serious. The staff was very friendly and nice and I don’t really have anything negative to say. I would recommend the food if you’re really focused on the culinary aspect but. But for something a bit more fun and accessible, maybe look elsewhere.

Even though I was sick as anything, I dragged myself to Cofoco to write this Unilocal review. Just kidding, I did it for myself. We started with the pea and mussel soup that tasted like a warm hug from a friend. Beautifully plated and so delicious. We then had the white asparagus, argentinian steak, and the pork dish. The steak was fantastic, I would go as far as to say just as good as wagyu, and had a beautiful garnish of tangled beet whirls. The Pork was good too, but definitely the steak was the highlight. We ended with a sorbet in a pool of sweetened buttermilk, sighed happily, then drifted back home.

The 4 course menu for 275DKK was great. Every dish looked amazing and tasted just as good. The service was friendly and attentive without being in your face. The place looks great and the atmosphere is nice and semi-casual.

We had a reservation at Host the sister restaurant across town and when we arrived at Host there was some confusion apparently our reservation was booked for 2 hours earlier than we had asked for it. After the initial confusion the hostess(not sure maybe waiter) called a cab at their expense and sent us to Cofoco. The atmosphere is pleasant and the food was good but no comparison to the experience at Host. No complaints at all. Unremarkable in most ways. Probably a good first date place. Swanky enough to be mildly impressive, surprisingly reasonable prices and well prepared, good ingredient dishes. Nothing is fantastic and nothing is wrong. Still I would not go out of my way to go there again.

This should come as no surprise to anyone who’s ever been to a Cofoco Restaurant: the namesake of the reputable chain is, quite expectedly, fantastic. I came for dinner amongst a large group celebrating a town hall wedding that took place earlier in the day. We were given an intimate room to ourselves, and despite being relatively secluded and away from the action, our fears of being forgotten never materialized. The staff at Cofoco was patient and helpful, despite the indecisive crowd(«do we want more bubbles, or should we shift to wine?» «how many courses are you getting, I think I’ll have three.» yadda yadda yadda…), and while we were bad guests and didn’t warn the kitchen about my wheat allergy, they gladly baked up some gluten free bread for *Yours Truly* so that I could also indulge in their deliciously whipped herbed cream cheese that came with it(real talk, I ate the bread to get to the butter/cream cheese because I’m old enough to know it’s socially unacceptable to dip a spoon right into it). Conveniently, I was on perhaps the worst day of a gnarly cold, and couldn’t taste as well as I normally can, and yet — ANDYET — everything was a delight for even my snot-clogged palate. All that for less than 500kr per person including alcohol? Ja tak. Over and over again.

I had passed by this restaurant many time and many times when I looked at the menu I couldn’t find some sea food or veggie dishes. But this time they have put some Out door searing area that really looked so inviting that I really wanted to give it a try luckily this time they had some dishes that were not only meat. The concept here is that you can choose between as many dishes as you want can eat. It could be 1 – 5 dishes. The portions are perfect for tasting and yet felling that you have enjoyed the flavours with feeling you want more. I live tapas kind of food and I thing this was wonderful alternative to that. You can enjoy a bottle of wine and small tasty dishes. The service was so nice and everybody on the team was kind, helpful, smiling and very service minded. I enjoyed the atmosphere very much, I will be coming back and inviting friends. I really enjoyed

An affordable 4 course tasting menu for 275DKK! Wait, are we still in Copenhagen?! Cofoco is part of a group that stands for Copenhagen Food Consulting. They’re known for fine quality food, different restaurants and luxury supermakets. I actually found Cofoco on Google maps searching what’s closeby Mikkeller bar in Vesterbro. I’m glad I trusted my gut on this one: reasonable prices for top-notch Nordic food in a casual setting that somehow, still manages to feel elegant. From the baked hake with avocado crème and mashed potatoes to the lightly pan seared cockerel with smoked marrow, these are all ingredients and food pairings I’ve never had before. My favorite of the night is the blue mussel soup with scallops and pickled goose berries. So heartwarming and delicious! Dessert was a great palate cleanser of rhubarb sorbet with a white chocolate ganache. Our tastebuds were definitely treated to fantastic food! My brother had Carlsberg’s Jacobsen beer(go local brew!) and I had the house gin and tonic. The cocktail list is very short and probably not worth the money, but that’s alkie in Copenhagen for you! ;-) Otherwise, highly recommended!

During Copenhagen Dining Week I had the pleasure of a four dish dinner at Cofoco for only 200 kr. The food more than lived up to my expectations and we had a lovely night all in all. So why three stars? One of the girls from our dinner company arrived 30 minutes earlier than the rest of us and was treated poorly by the staff when she asked if she could wait inside. She was told to wait in the small entrance corridor with doors constantly opening and closing around her. She basically had to move out of people’s way for half an hour. The staff should have solved this better, I don’t care how.

This was a great stop. Recommended by more than one person, and they weren’t wrong. Had some amazing small plates, and the setting is a very well done modern design that I honestly enjoyed spending time in. Turns out the«chicken nuggets» are deceptively named; nothing like the nuggets of youth, these are truly amazing morsels with a very well-conceived accompaniment.
