First the bad news… This bowling alley is terrible. The toilets are run down, the ‘food’ is overpriced and the liquor is expensive. Now I would normally be able to deal with all of those things, if it wasn’t for the way I was treated a few weeks ago. I kinda of get pissed off at places that don’t know how to balance their books properly. For example, everyone knows that you have to pay a Hydro bill at the end of the month. What I, as a customer, don’t understand is why businesses have recently taken to have me, the average every day customer, do their accounting for them — in addition to financing their operation. They seem to do this in one of 2 ways. 1) No debit, here is a debit machine that costs $ 2.95 to use. 2) debit, but here is a 25 cent charge I could go on and on about the absolutely retarded logic that these business ‘managers’ seem to think the best taste to leave in the customers mouth is a 25 cent surcharge, but I think we can all agree its stupid. A few weeks ago, I was at this location for a friends birthday and(like I always do) had not brought cash with me. So, I walked up to pay for our bowling when he advised me they can’t take debit. After some time, and frustration; I began to understand that their debit machine was broken — and fortunately there a 3rd party debit machine you could pay $ 3 to use. Fair enough, except their debit machine wasn’t broken, as I saw them whip it out to take someone’s credit card. So now, I was a bit frustrated. I asked him why he couldn’t take debit cards, and he advised me that it was because there was a charge to use them. He then said«How about I’m sick of hearing you guys complain. We don’t take debit!» Thats when I left. To be incapable of actually running the business aspect of running a business is one thing, but to be incapable of speaking to customers properly is another thing. Basically, this place should not be in business for long, as its quite evident to me they are incapable of either the aspects of front or back end. Unfortunately, my friend had to stay as it was her birthday. But I left and spend $ 100 of disposable income somewhere else.
