Food is excellent and the prices are reasonable. I have eaten there several times. The sushi is fresh and both the Japanese and Korean dishes are delicious. I plan to eat there a couple of times a week as long as I’m in Winnipeg.

A great little sushi place. I used to go here because it was nearby, but after the renovation the restaurant reopened with an improved menu and got even better. Reasonably priced and yummy.

Who knew this small River Heights sushi restaurant in a strip mall behind Domo would be so good? It’s a small sit down restaurant that’s simply decorated. Tried to order some toro and salmon sashimi on a Friday night just before they closed but they were all out so I had to opt for other items. The tuna sashimi(8 pcs, $ 11.95) were of a good proportion and tasted quite fresh. The chopped scallop($ 4.45) was good and had a good amount of scallops but a tad too much Japanese mayo for my liking. The«white dragon»($ 12.95) has unagi, fried prawn, cucumber, avocado, green onion and topped with white tuna avocado and black tobiko. This was a very striking roll, due to the black tobiko which really made for a great visual impact(see pic). The roll was quite tasty yet subtle in flavor. My new fave has to be the«volcano» roll($ 14.95), it sounds a bit steep for a spicy scallop roll but it’s topped with green onions and a generous proportion of spicy tuna sashimi! The spicy tuna sashimi really made the dish — a good spicy marinade. The«crazy» roll($ 10.45) has spicy tuna and cucumber inside and topped with salmon avocado and green onion. Another delicious spicy roll with good flavor and lots of fresh salmon. I like that the rolls are a good size here, not a fan of massively wrapped rolls that aren’t easy to chew. The rice was perfectly seasoned and was of the right consistency — nothing worse than mushy or warm sushi rice. The misses here were the miso soup and the gyoza — not a big deal as I’d rather have less than stellar appetizers but awesome sashimi and rolls. The miso soup($ 1) wasn’t too salty, which is nice but it looked like pure broth with a very small amount of green onions — I didn’t really see any notable amounts of tofu in there. The pork filling in the pan fried gyoza was pretty skimpy so I wouldn’t order this again($ 4.95 for 5 dumplings). The price here is moderate but the quality of the fish and the interesting selection of rolls really make this place a standout for me. Service was really warm and friendly. I think I have a new favourite sushi joint!
